This hotel is a rare gem hidden in the old town of Rethymno. Walking into our deluxe suite with Hammam with its beautiful furniture and decor and our own private steam room, took us back in time and was absolutely magical! The domed ceiling had small skylight that looked like stars and the solid walls provided such peace even though we were right in the middle of the town. The amenities included what was needed for coffee and tea, bathrobes and slippers and sandals and peshtemal towels for the steam room. Our host, Michalis, was a true gracious gentleman, very knowledgeable and so very helpful (efcharisto, Michalis for everything!). We would rate this hotel 20/10 if we could and we would definitely stay here again!

Rooms were wonderful and we have stayed a number of times here. Each room is unique and redefines boutique hotels in general. The décor is put together with flair and meticulous taste. Facilities are excellent, sadly there was not breakfast option when we have stayed but due to the central location this doesn't present any issues.
Nothing apart from breakfast, this would then have been perfect. we did have a bit of a leaky coffee machine but this was sorted out quickly. But these are trivial

Every attention to restore and evoke authentic historical detail has been made here. The experience of staying in the hamam room was quite extraordinary, utterly romantic and very comfortable. The attached hamam was glorious! Our host was extremely kind and went above and beyond to help us find our way and settle in. Don’t miss this if you have a chance to stay - highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel in very central location. The owner and his son helped us with booking tours, hire cars and airport transfers. The airport transfer in particular was excellent.

This property was so unique and all of the tiles and antique touches were stunning. Once in a lifetime opportunity to have a private hamam experience.

Big rooms with the convenience of being in the old town

Friendly and attentive host, beautiful and unique room (Suite Nr. 2) with luxurious private hamam (wonderfully relaxing!). Perfect location near many restaurants and shops but still quiet at night. Very short walk to the old venetian harbor. Though there is no immediate parking availabe we left our rental car at a reasonably priced parking garage nearby.

We loved our stay to the hotel, and the hammam was an exceptional-unique experience. I would totally rebook the same hotel. Also the room was well lit many different combinations of light sources creating a romantic environment, spacious and fully equipped with the necessary items (it even had iron!).
Some smell of humidity which was expected with all this steam coming out of the hammam room. So nothing to worry about or to complain. Stuff was helpful and the whole experience amazing.

We had a very nice and enjoyable stay, hotel is wonderful and well located in a very suggestive building in the center of the city. Large room, beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated, comfortable bed and pillows. Private Hamman was perfectly working. The staff were very friendly and helpful

We had a very nice and pleasant stay. Hotel is wonderful and well located. The guy that helped us to check in was very friendly and helpful. You can really ask him for all kind of recommendations. He knows the city very good and give you tips where to have an amazing breakfast or park your car free of charge. As we are both tall, I want also to mention that the bed was big and very comfortable! Rare to find ;)

Everything. A stunning hotel and most helpful and friendly staff I have met. We were treated like a part of the family. Nothing is any bother to them. Plus hotel is close to many shops and restaurants and a short walk to the beach.

Lovely and cosy place in the Old Town.

Everything. From the welcome at the front door, the first ‘wow’ look at the room, the hot steamy Hamman, the comfortable bed, the roof lights and general lighting, to the specially chosen furniture to compliment the room. We only booked for one night thinking the room would be very quirky and possibly too overpowering for a longer stay. We were wrong, we loved the room and are looking to stay again.
The hotel is centrally situated in the old town, easy, level walking mostly on traffic free small streets. No parking anywhere in the old town, but car parks for the Forteza are only a short walk away from the hotel.
We didn’t find anything to dislike.

I was travelled with a friend, the room was very big and clean. Inside it had hamam that you can use for free.
The Hotel was less than 5 minutes by foot to the cafe and the lighthouse.
It was beautiful.

Brilliant 2bedroom suite with antique furniture but all mod-cons, i. e. a Hammam-like shower and a great jacuzzi on the beautifully designed terrace overlooking the dome of the original 16th century Hammam. The owner’s son, Michailis did everything he could to make sure we are fine. Even the room scent is designed specifically to complete the Hammam historical yet modern atmosphere. Would love to go back already.

The bed was very noisy and the mattress too soft. The hamam was too small.

Unique! We had a sauna which we used every day and a lovely covered balcony with lounge chairs - sweet! Rethymno is a wonderful town to explore.

One of the most beautiful rooms in the world! Although the early morning light will definitely wake you up, staying in this old hamam-suite is an amazing experience. Michael, the owner was very friendly and helpful providing information about almost everything.
