the attitude of person who made my chek in was not nice, i asked a room with nice view but they gave the worse room looking to the wall of other building

- I loved the pools each one with different temperature - The staff in the restaurants, pool service, cleaning staff and bar are just amazing - The food at restaurants was excellent.

The information provided at the lobby, no recommendations, no help with inquirings; There was only one person every day the entire day doing his best but overloaded with all.

The location Escazu is a very nice place to live in. The room was big spacious clean I love the pool sitting poolside was so fun. I love the live music at the lobby it was so romantic being with my partner there I'll always cherish it. The beds are very comfortable.

The market's food unfortunately screwed up my order my seafood was raw and I had to pay the whole thing It was the first time ever i ever had to send food back in my life. I thought it was only a thing in reality tv show.

Added an extra star for the breakfast and the building's ambience. The breakfast was superb, with a choice to eat inside or on the terrace overlooking the pools. The pools were all a good size and the garden pretty and well kept. Everything else, though...

READ THIS before you book. Still angry when I think about my time there. Went there to celebrate a special occasion, which I stated at the time of booking. Also, I love 5* hotels for the welcoming atmosphere and the charming little ways they have to make your special day really special. NOT THIS ONE. The receptionist struggled with English, made me wait in a foyer for an hour - after an exhausting 20-hour flight! - with not a word of apology. Had to wait for another 15-20 minutes to get my bags delivered. No bathrobe in my room, it took 6 calls to the reception and a 5 HOURS wait until someone finally brought it. Arrived stained, just like the pillow cases. See pics. What's worse, the receptionist tried to DOWNGRADE my room without letting me know. At the check-in, I restated the purpose of my stay and asked if they had any special birthday upgrades. *Silence* "Oh well, just thought I'd ask." When shown to my room by a porter, I realise that she actually assigned me a lower category, a darker room, overlooking a carpark. Shocked by that lack of courtesy, I went down to the reception and said that if they wouldn't offer an upgrade, then at the very least I wanted the type of room I paid for. *Displeased grimace* *Silence* "Alright, please wait over there." Waited for about 40 minutes, nobody came. Went to the reception again. "Ah yes, you can go to your room now." They were NOT busy, they just didn't care. Not even a greeting card in my room. Utterly fed up and disgusted with their service. Very poor internet connection, too. See my screenshot. In short - frustrating, exasperating, and full of unpleasant memories. If you want to have a great stay, book somewhere else.

Well built hotel with generally good service

Property needed to be cleaned better generally. It also needed refurbishment as it's dated now. I wouldn't have minded if it wasn't for the expense. I feel that other reviews giving 1* are very harsh, but it was poor value for money.
