First, allow me to say that Gio is one of the most extraordinary hosts my wife and I have ever encountered - warm, friendly, responsive, helpful, generous, and more. It's not possible to overstate his hospitality and responsiveness. My wife and I love to travel and have stayed at too many short-term rentals and hotels to count. We have never encountered hospitality as lovely as Gio's, anywhere! Second, this villa is a hidden gem. The charming house has most all of the amenities that you would ever need. It is completely private and occupies one of the most ideal and desireable positions along the coast. There are numerous different outdoor sitting and dining spaces with expansive views, particularly at sunset. Inside, the rooms are comfortable and unique. We definitely look forward to returning!

My husband and I spent four weeks here. Everything about Villa Gio was perfect. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the very friendly and enthusiastic owner who was ever so helpful, provided basic staples to get us started....and proposed a welcome toast with a lovely prosecco. What a fabulous way to start a holiday! The villa was very well equipped; from the kitchen to the bedrooms and baths. Sofas and chairs were very comfortable and the mattresses of good quality. With two bedrooms on the second floors, there is ample privacy and space for two couples. Outdoors there were several sitting areas with chairs, chaises and tables, along with a delightful jacuzzi. All and all, Villa Geo is a gem. It's casual yet cozy, warm and inviting. We can't wait to return!

When my husband and I discovered Villa Gio on VRBO, we knew that it would be the perfect place for our 2-week stay in Ischia. And when we arrived, we immediately knew that we had made the perfect choice. Situated on a quiet and tranquil promontory, the secluded property is beautiful, lush and sprawling with a variety of different sitting, dining and entertaining areas terraced into the hillside. The property is gated and walled for ultimate privacy and security. And although it’s only a mile from the town of Forio, it feels like it’s miles away from its hustle and bustle. The villa is as pretty and as comfortable as the photos suggest. Its rustic charm, with beamed ceilings and a large fireplace, is undeniable. Two of the bedrooms have private terraces with views of the water, the third has a delightful bathroom featuring a shower with windows that open up to view the garden below. Also, there is a well-maintained hot tub and an outdoor shower conveniently located on a very private upper terrace. Downstairs there is an indoor dining room, as well as an outdoor dining area off the kitchen with a great wood-burning grill. But our favorite spot was undeniably the covered terrace at the front of the property which made for the perfect sunset-viewing vantage point. From there, it’s also fun to watch the ferries go by and the sunbathers on the rocks below. Villa Gio is ideally positioned for a nice walk to the beautiful Giardini La Mortella and/or Negombo Beach. Otherwise, you will need a car or moped for all your other adventures. Each day, we went out exploring the island and dining out, but at night we chose to stay in and cook. The kitchen at Villa Gio is fully equipped with everything needed. And staying home allowed us the opportunity to enjoy the incredible sunsets that dramatically light up the sky every evening. Gio has missed no opportunity to provide his guests with the ultimate hospitality and the best possible experience from beginning to end. Upon our arrival, the kitchen was stocked with fresh fruit, tomatoes, a loaf bread, chilled beers and Prosecco, and much more. A very welcome sight after our long journey. There are guest bathrobes in every bedroom and thoughtful touches everywhere. Additionally, Gio is an amazing host, always quick with a recommendation for a great restaurant or unique outing. When our two weeks were up, we were sad to leave Villa Gio. We will definitely be returning and wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else!

My husband and I rented this house with a group of two other couples for a week and were delighted with our stay. First, Gianni is a wonderfully responsive and responsible owner, who helped us endlessly on our first trip to Ischia with everything we could consider- car rental, restaurant recommendations, and other activities. The house itself was exactly what we had wished for- plenty of private outdoor space, beautiful views of the water, a well- equipped kitchen. Forio and Lacco Ameno are either short drives away or about 20 minute walk. The lovely Gardini La Mortella are also about a 10 minute walk from the house. We highly recommend this property and Gianni!

It was our first time using VRBO and renting a property. After seeing the photos I was immediately struck by the views. We were not disappointed! On arrival we were greeted by Gio, who had baskets of food and fruit waiting for us with a glass of wine to toast the beginning of our stay. He as described by other guests was incredibly helpful with arranging the car, boat rental and recommending and reserving restaurants. The house is simple and charming it is also situated on a cliff overlooking the water. Definitely bring water shoes to navigate the rocks down to the water. We mostly spent the days around the island, but there was one day we spent entirely at the house. Cooking a wonderful barbecue in the outdoor oven/grill and swimming in the waters below. Gio was a wonderful host and we will definitely be back!

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus liegt einsam auf einer kleinen Landzunge. Man hat direkten Zugang zu einer kleinen steinigen Bucht. Das Haus ist sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Garten bietet neben dem Jacuzzy viele romantische Gelegenheiten, den Sonnenuntergang zu genießen. Der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir können das Objekt uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Can’t speak highly enough of our host. He met us at the port, sorted us out with a car and then escorted us to the villa. It’s quite simply a breath taking location with seas views and only a short climb down to the water. Villa was very comfortable with lots of cooking facilities and essentials. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit auf Ischia. Das Ferienhaus lässt keine Wünsche offen und steht an einem wirklich schönen Standort. Wir haben uns rundum Wohlgefühlt und egal an welcher Stelle man auf dem Grundstück war, man hatte immer ein wirklich tollen Blick aufs Meer. Ein Traum Domizil mit fantastischem Meerblick und einem charmanten Besitzer. Danke Gio! Schon der Empfang mit gefülltem Kühlschrank, üppiger Obst und Gemüseschale, kühl gestellten Wein, lies uns sofort in Urlaubsstimmung abtauchen. Noch dazu dieser unendliche Meerblick, ein liebevoll gestaltetes Haus, ein schön mediterraner Garten mit etlichen Sitzmöglichkeiten und immer wieder neue Ausblicke aufs Meer sowie in Richtung Forio. Gerne sind wir hinunter gegangen, um ins Meer zu springen. Das Domizil liegt ideal um Ruhe zu finden und zügig alle Ausflugsmöglichkeiten zu erreichen. Unsere Fragen wurden immer schnell und mit zusätzlichen Tipps von Giovanni beantwortet. Wir reisten als vier Erwachsene mit zwei Kindern. Für die Erwachsenen stehen zwei Schlafzimmer mit eigenem Bad und für die Kinder ein zusätzliches Zimmer ebenfalls mit eigenem Bad zu Verfügung. Alles ist gepflegt und sauber. Auch in der Küche haben wir alles vorgefunden. Wir grüßen die Hausmöwe verbunden mit einem herzlichen Dank an Giovanni für diesen unvergesslichen Urlaub.

Fuimos un par de parejas a pasar una semana en esta maravillosa isla de Ischia. La casa es fantastica, comoda, fresca, con aire acondicionado, y una brisa de mar que hace de los atardeceres un espectaculo diario digno de ver. La atencion de Giovanni es perfecta, atento a todas nuestras inquietudes, nos esperaba con bebidas, frutas y verduras y una heladera con alimentos para la llegada. La cocina completisima, con elementos de excelente calidad, dificiles de encontrar en casas de alquiler. No parece una casa de alquiler, sino una vivienda de una persona con un gusto exquisito. EL jardin cuidado con esmero, todo custodiado por una simpatica gaviota que nos acompaño como vigilante durante toda nuestra estadia.

This house and its setting are amazing. So many nice details "con amore". Spotlessly clean, everything well maintained. The garden is very beautiful - at daytime and also at night - illuminated. We were very happy - it was hard to leave the place for some sight-seeing. And above all: the hospitality of Gio is extraordinary. A unique place to come back again.

Our title says it all. If watching perfect sun sunsets, lazing about in a secluded and comfortable location is your ideal then this property is highly recommended. Gio was attentive and supportive, providing helpful recommendations for eating out, places to visit and also met us at the ferry (he also sorted out car hire). The nearest public beach is a 25 minute easy walk and Forio is easily accessible. The nearest supermarket is a 10 mins drive and only accessible by car. Access to the sea from the property is a 3-4 minute walk down a relatively steep and uneven rocky path. Protective warterproof footwear is essential whilst the water can get slightly choppy at times. We would definitely return.

We were 3 couples from California on our first Italy Adventure! We spent our last 3 nights at this AMAZING Villa on Ischia. It is as beautiful as the pictures. The owner, Gio was the icing on the cake. Upon our arrival, we hired a driver at the ferry, Gio met us so we could follow him to the villa. He showed us all around, poured us champagne and made us feel so welcome. He shared lots of good tips; restaurants, grocery shopping and best of all, Negomo - a thermal park with a beautiful beach. My husband and I were the first of our party to leave. Gio was kind enough to arrange transportation to the Naples airport that was efficient and quite reasonable. I had never even heard of Ischia prior to our trip. We will absolutely be back and stay much longer! This is indeed a 'Unique Retreat', an amazing property that is truly "A FIND".

WOW. This place truly is a little piece of heaven and hidden gem. The pictures don't do it justice. Not only was the villa amazing and very spacious (it could easily sleep 7), but there are also no other houses in sight! It seems like you have the whole island to yourself. The sunsets were amazing and the best I've ever seen, right outside our door at the villa. And the owner, Gio, was so nice and accommodating! He reserved a car for us so we would have transportation when we arrived, he met us a the ferry port (we took the ferry from Naples to Ischia) and personally drove us to the villa, AND when we arrived at the villa the fridge and kitchen were stocked with all the essentials (eggs, milk, olive oil, even a few bottles of wine!). Plus Gio gave us many tips about what to do on the island, where to visit, his favorite restaurants, etc. And if we had any questions throughout our stay, we were able to call him directly and he was there to help. I can't say enough great things about this place: the owner, the views, the overall experience was just perfect! We will definitely be returning to Villa Gio sometime soon! We started by watching a video of this home on YouTube. The video was beautifully filmed and composed--so much so that it seemed too good to be true. In fact, the video presents the villa exactly as it is: a wonderful space with countless patios and decks, amazing sea views, expansive views of the sea, and irresistible charm. We were a group of six from the U.S.: a 60-year-old couple from Colorado plus our two 30-something kids and their significant others from California. We had been to Ischia before, Italy countless times...and my wife actually lived on the island for half a year when she was eight. So we were familiar with the ferry logistics from Naples, the narrow roads of the beautiful island, the beaches, and the half dozen main towns. Again, the villa was great. The kitchen is fairly small but functioned well, the living room was comfortable and two of the three bedrooms were excellent. The third bedroom, upstairs, is on the landing, and doesn't offer the privacy of the other two and requires a walk into the upstairs bedroom to use the bathroom. But that wasn't much of a problem. Gio, the owner, is an experienced hotel owner who is an excellent, warm host. He met us upon arrival at the ferry terminal and led us to the villa (which would have been difficult to find and access on our own--even with a map). The villa was stocked with fresh fruit and vegetables, crackers and Ischian white wine. All the beds were comfortable. Everything worked well. Internet was a little spotty, but the villa is tucked among the cliffs. Access to the water was quick and easy and even in late October the water was plenty warm for swimming. No sand along the rocky shore line, and the beach is sometimes shared with locals who walk down from the road, but it's still appealing. For me, the best part is the amazing setting and the drama of arriving. You unhook a gate, descend a narrow dirt path and arrive at a gate that is activated with a remote. Walk down a long, rock-wall lined path and suddenly the villa comes into view, along with the terraces and the sea. It was hard to believe that this was our place for a week. It is remote, it is special...and it will become even better when Gio finishes the new infinity swimming pool on the top terrace. (It seemed nearly complete when we were there.) If you are comfortable driving on narrow roads and want an adventure more than an absolute luxury resort experience, this is a great choice.

La villa de Gio est un véritable paradis : la maison est sympa, lumineuse, fonctionnelle et très agréable à vivre. La vue est absolument sublime. Que ce soit du séjour, des chambres, de la cuisine, on est plongés perpétuellement dans un rêve éveillé : la mer, la mer, la mer, les plantes, etc ! Lorsqu'on est fatigués de regarder la mer, la meilleure chose à faire est d'aller se baigner dans les rochers au pied de la villa ! La villa est à deux pas des magnifiques jardins de la Mortella, qui valent vraiment la visite, et du parc thermal Negombo, très sympa, notamment sa plage dans la baie de San Montana. Forio est à côté, pour tous les aspects pratiques, y compris les arrivées et départs en aliscafo. Enfin dans "Villa Gio" il y a Gio ! Très sympathique, Gio est un véritable hôte qui vous accueille chez lui. Il vous accueille à l'arrivée du bateau, réserve la location de voiture et vous conseille sur les lieux, les visites et les restaurants à ne pas manquer. Le service est vraiment parfait. Amateurs d'isolement, de nature, de mer et de culture, Ischia est pour vous et la villa Gio votre lieu de séjour idéal ! Villa Gio is a true paradise : the house is very comfortable, practical and full of light. The view is really amazing : you can see the sea into all rooms of the house. Every window conduct you to a real dream ! Swimming in the rocks, just on foot of the villa is also an amazing experience ! Very close to the house : Mortella's garden are fantatisc, the thermal parc "Negombo" is very close too. You need just 10 minutes to go to Forio by car, to buy what you need et to catch the "aliscafo". Gio is a perfect host : he welcomes you at the boat, takes care of a car reservation, advises you on good places, visits and restaurants. You are really welcome here !

My husband and I planned our entire honeymoon around this Villa. We were researching various countries and locations in the world, when I stumbled upon the listing. I was smitten with the photos and immediately started researching Ischia and how to get myself there. I've rented many properties from this site, and I always try and keep my expectations somewhat low since pictures and descriptions don't always tell the truth. But I just had a good feeling about this one. So we took a chance, and booked it for 7 nights. WOW!!!! Just wow!!! We were more than happy with everything. We opted to add transportation to our package, and Gio arranged for someone to pick us up in Naples, take us to the ferry, get us off the ferry, and drive us to the Villa. It was definitely a good decision. We also rented 2 scooters which he helped arrange. Now back to the property and villa....The views of the sea were mesmerizing. We often sat for hours on end outside just taking it all in. There are endless outdoor spaces to relax in. We enjoyed the easy access to the sea and swam frequently. We also loved the hottub! It's definitely a fantastic way to end the night while looking up at the beautiful night sky. The villa is very nice inside, comfortable beds, a great kitchen to cook meals in, wifi, and television (although we didn't even turn it on). I cannot say enough about our amazing trip. Gio was a fantastic host and obviously takes loving care of his property.

We just spent a week in this beautiful house with it's wonderful gardens, terasses, patios and breathtaking views. The house is nicely decorated and completly blends in with it's natural surrounding. The house is clean and well maintained. Peace and quiet, being one with nature, you can completely relax, be free and forget your busy normal life. It was like being on your own private island on Ischia. Forio is close by for shopping restaurants, bars etc. Gio the owner is very friendly, discreet and gives you all the information and service you need. In reality the property looks better then on the pictures, you simply cannot capture it's beauty with a camera. Don't even hesitate to book this so you can enjoy the magnificant sunset every evening. Our Stay at Villa Gio (punto caruso) was fantastic. The friendly, kind and thoughtful property owner met us at the ferry with a rental car and took us through the house explaining "how to" everything. He recommended great local restaurants, where to food shop, get spa treatments and more. He even called a few days in to check on how we were doing and answer any questions. The villa is serene, private, clean and very comfortable. The plants, views, sunsets and sounds of the crashing ocean helped us to recover from the stress of our busy lives. We stayed for 1 week and could have stayed for much longer ;) We hope to return soon!
