I was upgraded to a refurbished room on 12th floor, which was very pleasant with far reaching views. The staff were welcoming and efficient. Breakfast was good.

The mattresses could be of a better quality for a good nights sleep. The menu for the Bar Grill and room service was limited, a few more options would be good. I don’t like being asked to add a tip (10-25%) for room service - the tray charge should be the tip. Might be ok in America, but not in UK!!

The hotel is under construction and we were not made aware of this prior to booking. Its a bit off putting when you are looking for a nice night away. We were given a room on the 6th floor which looked like something from the 90s. If the hotel has been refurbished in certain places then guests should be assigned to these rooms not old rooms. The swimming pool is also not in the hotel, you can access it from the first floor but you have to go down 5 flights of stairs and then back up all wet and cold. When we got to the swimming pool the roof was leaking and it was really off putting when trying to enjoy a swim and sauna. we paid over £100 for 1 night and cant believe they can charge that price.

Overall the hotel was excellent, the staff on point and the room very clean and welcoming. The score reflects the fact that the fire alarm went off twice during my stay (which in isolation is unavoidable) however there were no clear fire exit signs and I ended up walking around the kitchens and staff canteen/communal areas until a member of staff pointed me (and another couple) to the exit.

As per above, the hotel is under renovation in some areas and with little signage if you didnt use the lift (which is obviously the case during a fire alarm), you could end up literally anywhere in the hotel!!

The room was very nice and clean. The breakfast was excellent.

My Daughter & I had dinner in the restaurant on the Friday evening, although it was very nice, I was a bit disappointed that it took nearly 45 minutes to receive the dessert after we had finished our main course and the restaurant was not busy.

Great welcome from reception. Lovely room. Very clean. Breakfast lovely.

Cast Iron Grill. We booked for 6pm arrived 5.55pm and were seated at 6pm So far so good. Waiter advised they were very busy so could be delays. We decided quickly order mains only as we had a show to get to. We told waiter that we needed to be away by 7pm and we ordered food and drinks. By 6.35pm drinks still hadn't arrived never mind the food. This despite twice asking for an update. Another couple left at this point before ordering. We had been first in so you can imagine our displeasure at watching another table get their drinks at 5.40pm despite arriving at least 15 minutes after us. At this point I asked about food and drinks again and after being rudely advised they were getting the drinks together ( 1 beer 1 cider and 2 spritzers) we decided if the drinks took this long, food was never going to arrive in time. We made the decision to leave. We attracted the waiter and apologised saying we had to leave for a show and couldn't wait any longer. I heard another couple saying they were in the same boat and they left too. Waiter was totally unconcerned. As far as I am concerned if they were too busy to get food and drinks out in 40 minutes they should have told us you have no chance of being out by 7pm. Then we could have gone elsewhere. I will say the breakfast was very good. Buffet style but we went early just in case it got busy.

The room was lovely, clean,comfortable and well equipped with fridge,safe ,iron, ironing board large tv and hairdryer. Staff were great and very friendly.

I didn’t like the fact that when I booked I wasn’t informed that the swimming pool is shut for refurbishment. I specifically chose this hotel so I could swim. It would have been good for this to have popped up on Booking.com I paid extra compared to another hotel that I looked at as I wanted to treat myself and have a daily swim so, I was very disappointed with this situation.

Room size, toiletries, towels and size of the room

The bed was awful. Had sunken parts and the pillows had no support. The other room couldnt hear us on the room telephone, and there were no usb charging sockets. Staff tried to give us an adapter but none worked

The staff were lovely and really helpful , although I did not make any complaint I felt that it was all vastly over priced , for the price I paid for the room I’d usually expect a higher standard , a fridge in the room , complementary bottle of water .. or 2 ! As it was a family room . The staff at breakfast again were lovely , the breakfast wasn’t bad but not worth the extra money , I’d have expected the price of the room to cover breakfast as well , I do realise the price of hotel rooms has gone up in the past few years , but it’s unacceptable , you’re running all the bay to the bank with these prices at the Marriott, stayed at the same hotel 2 years ago and remember being extreamly happy .

Toiltries were not replenished during my entire stay of 7 nights. However the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. big shout out to the lady manning the omelette station weekdays, very cheery and chatty. I liked that. And to the restaurant staff at breakfast sessions when another guest (friend) became extremely ill and needed much assistance. Above and beyond and ever so compassionate.

OFFICE CHAIR TO TABLE WAS BROKEN, IT WAS SUNKEN TO THE GROUND. I DID NOT TRY TO SIT ON IT BUT IT WAS CLEAR I COULD NOT WORK TO THE TABLE AS THE CHAIR WAS TOO LOW. WE WITNESSED DRUG DEALING UNDER THE CANOPY OUTSIDE. A LAD WITH FLUFFY HOOD ON A BIKE WITH A V LARGE HANDFUL OF CASH AND A WHITE FIESTA TYPE CAR CAME IN A DID THEIR DEAL IN FRONT OF US AS I GOT OUT AN WENT IN. I REPORTED THIS TO THE MALE RECEPTIONIST THE SAT NAV TOOK US INTO TOWN BUT WE EVENTUALLY FOUND YOU AFTER ASKING, THE RECEPTIONIST KNEW THIS CAN BE A PROBLEM

Location and Staff.

A/C not working properly in my room. It was reported to front desk, but not rectified. It was constantly too warm. Bed and pillows were mediocre. I expect better from Marriott Bonvoy. Oh, and the TV in my room didn’t work when I arrived.

Hotel was being refurbished, so there was some disruption. My colleague had to leave the hotel and find another because the AC in his room did not function. Very disruptive as we prepared for the conference.

The best thing about this hotel is definitely the staff! They are all so welcoming and attentive throughout the whole stay. This was our second time staying at this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed it, start to finish. We have definitely found our favourite ‘go to’ hotel and look forward to staying again in future visits. This trip was part of a birthday celebration and I had mentioned this to the hotel prior to our stay, they couldn’t have done more to make things extra special with some complimentary bubbles, balloons and even a hand written card - I cannot thank the staff enough for helping set everything up and making our stay even more special! Once fully refurbished, the hotel will be even better but the work that’s been done already, especially the rooms, looks fantastic - It’s made such a difference. The Marriot Hotel is perfectly located for everything we come to do in Glasgow. It’s welcoming, comfortable, clean and progressing into an aesthetically pleasing accommodation.

As the hotel is being refurbished, the car park was completely full with other guests but mainly with work vans - with that being said, we finally managed to get a space in the end and the work will be well worth it!
