Location
The room

Gorgeous, peaceful location and lovely room with fabulous view. The four poster bed was delightful and extremely comfortable. Room was warm and cosy. Secure parking.
The toilet could have done with a better clean and the shower wasn’t brilliant.

Ok value
Good was a little poorly

Didn't have any.
The price. The attention. The shower was possibly the worst I've ever used.
2.8
A quiet place. Good beer, friendly people and staff.
That you had to pay extra for breakfast, which should have been included in the high price.

Clean and comfortable room. but hotel looking tired.
Bath / shower diverter broken.
Chef was open to last minute change of breakfast.
Unfortunately the wall between me and the adjoining bathroom was not sound insulated, I was less than 4 ft from a very ill guest next door in the late hours of Friday night.

Amazing location, the grounds were stunning.
Receptionist was not to welcoming or full of life. Needed some tlc. Would of accepted it if was a little cheaper

Comfortable bed , quiet , lovely views , close to all amenities
Decor a little bit dated ,
got a bit chilly in room in evening , lovely and warm on landing but no heating on in room. £10 for breakfast a little bit steep after paying £90 for room

I'm sorry, but this accommodation will not get a good review. And there is no point in commenting on the breakfast, which costs £10 per person (bleee). I do not recommend this accommodation.

Hot water.bathmat in bath was wet black and gooey underneath . Bedding except for sheets was 1980sand needed a good wash.no hairdryer or soap only in a dispenser by the shower no for the wash basin ,hot water was none existent. Carpet around sides of room very dusty .

The location
The view from our window was like a scene from wrong turn & the hotel was dated & needs a refurb also do the rooms, I accept it was only £60 too stay there but maybe booking. Com should go around & check the facilities

Ignore the reviews that are either overly fussy or caught the staff on a bad day. I could see where they were coming from, but they are over exaggerating in my opinion.
Location is fab
I was NOT shouted at for getting there a little early.
It was made clear to me it was room only, I was not expecting breakfast, check your booking details it will always say whether included.
I have not stayed in hotel where they show you to your room in nearly 50 years. It isn't a 5* Hilton. You are an adult and the hotel is not a maze.
Room was good, had everything I needed, not the biggest, but I was only sleeping there, not holding a party
The decor is a little shabby chic and stuck in another era, but this is a pub hotel in the middle of Wales, not a Premier Inn, really, what are you expecting and what person really cares about how somewhere they are going to sleep looks like, as long as it is comfortable? I thought it pretty enough, and the bathroom functional, this is all that is needed.
The staff were not effusive, but polite and friendly enough. They are still taking Covid precautions, with screens and masks and I have no problem with this.
The price was good for a December Saturday night, and moderately quiet, mind you, the football was on and they don't have a TV screen in the bar and I expect most other locals were up the road, where they had Sky Sports.
Room was not overly hot or cold, but it was the coldest night in December so far, so I was grateful for warm/borderline cool, I hate hot bedrooms.
I have stayed in a lot LOT worse. If you say this is the worst in Wales, you really haven't stayed in Wales enough. Ordering them best to worse, I would put this place somewhere in the middle of the 30+ places I have slept in the country.
They could really invest in re-tarmacking the car park, and putting fences round the shabby bits. It lets them down.
They need to replace the mattresses, I had a dip in mine from around 10,000 other occupants (give or take 1000 or so). To be honest, I can't even sleep in a PI properly so this didn't especially bother me, but would bother others.
Menu could do with updating and improving. It is a little expensive for what it is.
They could update/repair that refrigeration/portable generator unit that hums all night. It becomes a background noise, but occasionally changes gear and is quite noisy for a couple of minutes.

There was no breakfast available
The state of the property very run down. Think the picture was an old one as it looks far better than it was.

I enjoyed the scenery. The play ground was great for the kids even had sheep outside.
The meal we had was good food after waiting 1 hour.
It was home made nice food.
No staff. Was not open when we arrived we waited hours to get in couldn’t even get a drink or use the toilet with the kids as the hotel was not even open. Opened at 4pm. Checked in room was not cleaned still bedding all over the place. Had to take the kids back down the stairs. Wait in the bar where there was lack of drinks snacks and food options,
Food is only served until 8pm and signs in the room state do not eat in this room you will be charged. What are you supposed to do when the service is non existent. No where to get snacks or drinks no vending machine nothing. Might of well camped over the road, just a bed.

Staff were incredibly friendly and the food was good with a lot of options available. Quiet location. Bed was comfortable.
The room was a little tired and the water pressure in the bathroom for the shower was a bit weak. Generally the room was very clean but there were a few dust webs in the bathroom.

Not a lot I'm afraid
Most of it. The place didn't smell very nice and was very outdated. Bathroom was dirty. Glasses stuck to the shelf in bathroom. I won't stay here again 😭
2.8
Hotel over priced for room only - rooms very dated and in need of modinisation.
2.8
Room was very clean.
When we asked about dinner, we were told don’t no haven’t seen the chef yet this was at 5.30 in the afternoon. So no dinner
2.8
The breakfast was really nice, served on time by a lovely gent and all tasted really fresh. The room was really clean and nice size maybe a little dated but nothing to complain about.
The only thing is that we couldn’t book in until 4 o’clock which I thought was a little too late as half the day was gone

Accommodation meals and setting of the hotel
Nothing
2.8
nothing. the staff were non existent. there was no one in sight. the room was horrible and bathroom was very small and tatty. the whole room need renovation. small tv hanging in one corner. the screen was not visible from the bed. there was no provision of breakfast. and strict rule that
no food items can be taken to the room. I stayed 2 nights and the room was not clean and bed made. no staff visited. i totally regretted staying at this property. very bad experience. the only good thing was location, and view.
every thing starting from staff to room and facilities.
2.8
the bed was very comfortable but security light outside kept coming on all night and disturbing our sleep
2.8
The location is great, beautiful views, friendly staff
The room interior is very, very dated. Not a room you could relax in.
2.8
Room was clean and comfortable.
Attitude of staff, most unwelcoming.. Asked for my name, key thrust towards me and told "room 3". I then had to ask where it was and was curtly told "upstairs on the left'. There was no mention of how or where to order breakfast for the following morning. We got up at 7.00 am and left.

Location good
Could not book in till 4pm
Dated uncomfortable bed and room
Unwelcoming
Too expensive for what it is
2.8
The 1970s avocado green bathroom dead flys in the light shade bed cheap. Staff didn't even crack a smile
2.8
It was cheap and there was lots of hot water
There was no one in reception although I had rung 5 mins before arrival, the person who answered the bell was unwelcoming, told me nothing about where the room was or how to get to it, or about breakfast and there was no-one around when I left; the draught beer was not available; the snack food was limited; there was hair in the plughole; the notices in the room had a hostel feel; the bed felt unstable and squeaked, the cold tap to the bath was impossible to turn on without turning on the shower; the shower curtain was horrible plastic; the furniture was cheap and nasty.
