Bravo!!!!

I booked a private suite and 2 deluxe rooms, and decided to treat my parents and let them have the private suite. I admit that the private suite gets a different score than the deluxe because it is quite luxurious, but given that I stayed in the deluxe room, that is the basis of the poor score. I will note that the staff was very formal and nice (but no more nicer than that of the several other Swiss hotels I stayed at, whose hospitality went above and beyond). I must also note that views from the common balconies were absolutely glorious.

Rooms: I was shocked that this was considered a 5-star hotel because the deluxe rooms were the worst I stayed in throughout my 2 weeks in Switzerland. And while some of the deluxe rooms have great views and layouts, not all of them do, so just know you are taking a gamble. I was stuck staring at a parking lot. Unless you are planning to book the presidential suite, I don't recommend staying here. Location: The hotel is out of the way and you have to take an extra funicular just to get there and then walk 10 min on an incline, so you need to plan for this when making your itinerary because it lengthens the commute significantly. Amenities: Given the premium being paid for 5 stars, the amenities were very substandard (even for a 4 star hotel). No free breakfast, which was shocking because almost every other Swiss hotel offered this, including their sister hotel in Lugano, which I also stayed in. The jacuzzi was lukewarm, which was surprising because it was even chilly outside. I was also surprised that no shuttle service to the funicular was offered. My dad, who has a heart condition had to trek up the steep incline to the funicular every time we left from the hotel.

The View is out of this world 🤩 and hotel team are the best 👍 very kind and thoughtful. They are the best part of this hotel.

Hotel and rooms are a bit outdated. All the rest is nothing special, just decent. Needs refreshing and modern installations. Some basic utilities that are part of standard amenities in most of 5***** hotels are simply missing. SPA is basic, no design, no special atmosphere. Got impression I went to my fitness center, not in 5 star hotel.

The views were incredible! Very friendly staff, especially in the terrace bar. A pleasant surprise to find a birthday card for my wife on returning to our room. The breakfast was also exceptional.

2 Single duvets on our honeymoon was a strange thing to find. Seemingly 2 beds pushed together but single duvets not replaced by a king.

They need to buy new bed pillows and blankets.

This is a FIRST CLASS place to stay. The room and balcony were incredible. Spaceous, quiet, and great view. We ordered room service for breakfast and had a grand time on the balcony. The staff was very helpful with tips and getting us taxis. The restaurant a block away, Le Chalet, was a wonderful alternative to the expensive restaurant at the facility.

The cost of the buffet breakfast was far too high - even for Switzerland. Order room service instead. If you are not driving, be prepared to spend time or money getting around.

The view from the hotel was outstanding. They upgraded us to a junior suite which was exceptional and Jorge, our host was very professional and his hospitality was really good.
