The hotel is quite tired in certain respects, but I guess the cost of upgrading/renovating would be extortionate for such a large building

Great location and some lovely bits in the hotel room which made it feel more luxurious like bath robe, fresh fruit, fresh milk in the fridge.

Lacked attention to detail. The room was far too hot, which meant we had to open the windows and then could hear employees arriving for work on a Sunday morning, they weren’t quiet about being unhappy working on a bank holiday weekend! the fruit was damaged & the lack of plug sockets was just something you put up with!

W were attending a performance RSC, it's less than a two minute walk, so it's absolutely perfectly placed. Views across the river were fab too. Room was a decent size and very well decorated. I'd put this hotel in the boutique class from what I saw. Breakfast was excellent in a very nice room. Staff were excellent throughout. Free parking in the centre of Stratford is so stress reducing!

It’s right next to the Royal Shakespeare Company, half a mile from the Stratford tourist sites, and has ample parking.

Towel rack heater didn’t work. Had to request slippers. Very long passageways going up and down stairs very cumbersome with heavy luggage and baby stroller.

Classy establishment with excellent customer service and in a prime location.

Couldn't work the plug to run a bath.

Fabulous customer service in a very well run hotel located conveniently opposite the RSC theatre in a lovely part of the town. Very pleasant stay. My room was well proportioned and pleasantly decorated with a fantastic en suite bath and shower room. Very good restaurant in the hotel with exceptional service. Excellent breakfast. Easy parking at the rear. Location is excellent as it is close to the town centre and cultural sights and close to the river for evening strolls.

I don't think I can find any fault with this establishment.

Service in the bar & restaurant, very poor . Waited 25 minutes for drinks to arrive in the bar/terrace . We didn’t risk breakfast & walked 5 minutes to Carluccios ! Cold shower in room in the morning!

Lovely hotel which was ideal for the centre of Stratford. We stayed in the superior king room. Large room with a shower/bath. Very comfortable bed with a great nights sleep. Lovely breakfast in the morning

Only one negative point which I feel must be made. We booked through booking.com a few months before our stay and received details of the final amount to pay when checking out. In the morning a typed bill was pushed under our door which referred to an additional service charge. We were confused with this and assumed that another room had received some extra service and we were being charged by mistake. We asked for details when checking out and to our amazement/frustration we discovered that the hotel had increased its rates from the 01st August and we were being charged an additional 5%. Few more points on this:- 1. We booked the hotel well before this increase and our price quoted was basically a contract as agreed with booking.com and the hotel. 2. We thought that expecting us to be charged after agreeing our booking without any prior notice or any agreement was completely poor taste and very unprofessional. 3. The guy on the reception must have received quite a few complaints from other guests, who I assumed also booked before the 01st Aug, as he knew what the query was before we started discussing it. He advised it was a a payment which was at our discretion, we declined to pay under principle: he understood and was more than happy to ignore this extra charge. As a final comment I was amazed that senior management of such a hotel would come up with an idea like this and risk negative feedback for such a small amount. Just to add that if we were informed at the time of booking we would have been more than happy to pay the additional £11.07.

Excellent location and very picturesque. Room was very comfortable and bright. Very good breakfast. Staff very friendly, especially the girls on reception. Very accommodating. Would stay again.

Slight problem which was soon sorted. My original room had a smell to it. The staff also noticed and were happy to move me to another room. They said housekeeping would be notified straight away.
