Truly great place to stay in Thüringen Wald. It really fits to my imagination of cozy mountain pension with friendly staff, good food and close location to diverse tourist paths. I would come again if I had another chance

Nice place. A bit farther to walk to than other accommodation options if you are doing the Rennsteig as it is at the far end of town, but on the plus side you get a tour of the town en route. The room was clean and comfortable, and the shower was hot (which was wonderful, as I was sodden when I arrived. Got caught in a sudden downpour just as I had almost reached Frauenwald). The staff were friendly and the food was good. Don't skip dessert: Their interesting ice-cream flavours are an absolute must if you want to try something a bit different! Delicious too!

The WLAN in my room didn't work at all. Quite strange, as my room wasn't that far from the reception and dining area. The location of the hotel was in the township (not miles out) and the township is not in a valley, so there was no reason why the internet shouldn't have been working. I found this a bit annoying given the price of the room.

It was a very good hotel with nice and clean room, bed and bathroom. Very good meal in a cosy restaurant and also perfect breakfast. Friendly and very helpful personnel.

As we were walking the Rennsteig, the location of the hotel was a few km off the track. On the other hand: after breakfast the personnel explained clearly where to find the bus and departing time so that we were back on the Rennsteig in 15 minutes.

Really nice place, delicous food, great shower, good bed.
