Amazing location, clean and felt safe. We would stay here again!

This was a great property 20 years ago. They have not replaced a single thing in that time. When it comes to the furniture and the cabinets it isn’t a big deal but with the appliances it is a problem. The dishwasher is totally broken and has been for a while as it smells. The refrigerator for a large 10 person unit is old an inadequate. It doesn’t hold as much as modern fridges, doesn’t make ice anymore, has broken drawers and all the side door shelves have been removed (broken over time no doubt). There were other minor problems that wouldn’t be worth a bad review but it is obvious the place isn’t cared for. Twice I mentioned the dishwasher to reception and both times the just said ok and nodded their heads. We also never had anyone come through with clean towels, more TP or paper towels. Never cleaned the place which we have always had great experiences with that in other places, why nothing in a $1000 a day villa? Water slides were great and we love Rocky Point but the just those things were a big downer.

We loved being so close to the beach. The house had plenty of room for the 10 of us, 4 bedrooms, large dining table. The only thing that could have been better was the weather!

I’m really not the type to leave negative reviews but after no response in 10 days from the resort, I feel obligated to make others aware of our stay.
#1.) Front Desk Supervisor, Dennise, reached out post stay to advise us of a small stain on the comforter that they would be charging us $72 for. While I do not doubt the kids caused this stain, I didn’t agree with the charge as there was a handful of issues we dealt with at the property (see below). After replying twice to the manager, I still have not received a response. It’s now been 10 days.
Here were our issues:
- Toilet right of the front door had an issue with flushing. The water kept running. We stopped using it after the first day.
- Twin beds didn’t have guard rails. We didn’t allow our kids to actually sleep up there as we felt it was dangerous for the littles.
- Lock on master bedroom didn’t work
- Water leaked through master glass door the night of the storm
- No propane in the grill. Makes it tricky when your driving in from the US.
- Broken silverware drawer
- Broken drawer in fridge
- Broken ottoman
- Slanted stove
- Hot water issues with the shower and kitchen sink. Kitchen sink water would take a very long time to get warm. The shower knobs didn’t align with the temperature and was almost impossible to get hot.
- Very slow WiFi. Not ideal when traveling internationally. Caused excessive data usage on our cellular plans.
- Loose front door rattling all night
- All of our guests were asleep and woken up by someone banging on the front door at 11:30 pm one night. No peep hole. Too scared to sleep well that night.
- Dead bird in the gym
- Lots of miscommunication of what pools were heated and which ones kids were allowed.
We had a great time in Puerto Penasco despite the circumstances. Just won’t be returning to this resort.

The location of this villa is steps to the sand. And you can see the waves crashing beyond, from the roof top deck. We had 3 families stay in this villa and everyone had their own space and privacy. We would stay here again.

I shouldn't even be giving a 1 star... where should I start . The resort literally calls me at 7pm the night before I had reserved and said they needed the villa .... the resort said they would accommodate us by putting us in a 3 bedroom! Ours was a 4 bedroom with more beds to accommodate our group of 13 people.... we were told the owner needed the villa and we would have to stay the night in the 3 bedroom! Sleep situation was a mess! Not only that , bugs/ants infested in kitchen and got into our dinner we had to throw out! Leaks from the roof ! Management didn't return our calls . Accomdation and customer service at its worst .... checked in to our villa next day after being rushed out the one we were In because check out time was 10am! They weren't even done cleaning the 4 bedroom we originally booked! As soon as we got into the 4 bed ! 1 of the ceiling fans literally fell out and broke on top of the bed !!!! Still no word from management on trying to get a night free ... Denise was the supervisor in charge and pretty much was no help! Gave us free drink vouchers !!! If I told you how much time we spent on trying to get a hold of someone that could actually do something.. rediculous ! Never again !!!
