What a gem of hotel in San Jose. Good Food, Clean Room, generally clean premises and a good pool for a dip after a busy 10 days around costa rica. Only stayed 1 night but would be ideal for a short city break.

Excellent lication 5 minutes walk to National and Jade museums, 10 minutes from Gold museum. Parking 14 usd 2 minutes walk..Good buffet breakfast. Very nice and comfortable room. And bathroom. Design and style. Very clean. We recommend.

Hotel needs a bigger sign what is visible from the street - when coming to hotel taxi driver drove past the hotel. Same happened when leaving my hotel, I saw my Uber drive right past. The hotel sign with name must be better visible from the street.

Colonial external appearance. Early morning breakfast (extremely simple, but still you can get to eat something leaving early). Super convenient location.

The pool is dirty and lacks maintenance, and it's small. No elevator at all, no offering to help with your luggage. I thank you for the early breakfast, it's a great idea, but it's extremely modest.

The style and decoration were amazing. The heart of downtown is a small walk away.

The room was super noisy. We got a room next to the kitchen and early in the morning we could hear the workers talking loudly and it was impossible to sleep.

Was okay for a one night short stay

booking.com and the hotel both provide false advertisement stating the room I booked has AC. it did not have any sort of AC!

The only thing that we didn’t like was “our” room was unavailable and we were put on the 3rd floor with no elevator. we are seniors and climbing the stairs was a little difficult and tiresome.

The location is in walking distance of el centro and to museums.

The cleaning staff used a bench outside my room as their staging area which meant there were always dirty towels, sheets, dishes stacked there and it was noisy early in the morning. I slept in and had a later breakfast and the buffet had not been replenished.

The hotel is very nice, lots of pillars around the pool and colonial touches. The staff was very helpful. When we arrived at 3 am after a delayed flight, we found that our room was on the third floor and my husband has mobility issues. The clerk took our luggage up for us. The next day, we asked for a room on the ground floor and they moved our luggage to a nicer room than we had before. The resto was good too.

When we first arrived, our room was small, there were no towels and the bedside light didn’t work. However, our second room on the ground floor was spacious, bright and airy. I would suggest requesting a ground floor room.

The breakfast wasn’t very good. The pictures online were not accurate. Next door is a hotel that books by the hour.

We stayed 4 days and our bed was only changed in day 3, ( until I asked) no cleaning in between. Noise of undergoing renovations. Pool and spa not in use

No air condition. 1 shampoo for 2 people. No drinking glasses. No bar service.

No hot water The water from the shower flooded the entire bathroom and part of the room. No a first aids supplies in the property

I like how Maurice looked out for us and helped me with finding a tour at the last minute. The restaurant was great, the staff was very polite, I will be returning here. Thanks for your hospitality.

The breakfast is great and it is not a continental breakfast. We had our grandsons with us on one trip and they made pancakes to the menu for them. All the staff is great,, we really love them. When we go to San Jose, that is the only place we stay.

We felt safe closed entrance. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were new and nice size The restaurant is the best thing they have, the desserts and food were good, and price for food was reasonable . The guy in the morning was very nice.

The lady at the front desk was ok, the first room she gave us was right next to the kitchen and the window didn't close all the way, the other room was better with a view of the mini pool and city. The location of the tv was awkward, the bathroom was small with only a shampoo, a small soap for toiletries. The food at the restaurant restaurant was good but the meal was cold. No ac in the room. They had a fan it was a cooler night so it was ok.
