We had thought there was an active restaurant for lunch or dinner, but the breakfast was nice.

A little renovation would be good. The location is ideal for people wanting to walk or ride bikes or use the bus. A bit more information about local events and bus timetables would be nice.

Very nice view, peaceful, comfort rooms!

I have stayed at this hotel before. If anything, this 2nd stay at BERGISCHE SCHWEIZ, in the VELBERT LANGENBERG township was better than my 1st stay during October-November 2018. I dealt with the owner, who was courteous, informative and very helpful. My room was more than adequate, being spacious, well furnished and not too warm -- an important consideration in view of the heatwave prevailing at the time of my visit (Thursday, June 27th -- Sunday, June 30th, 2019). The bed was very comfortable -- and the room I had chosen, from a selection of 2, had its own fridge, cooker and a selection of utensils. The kettle I'd asked for to boil water for coffee was there waiting for me The breakfast was simple but plentiful, with the owner himself serving. I had as much to eat and drink as I could have wished for -- and more than I could possibly consume. The owner also served HOT FOOD (fried eggs) in addition to the selection of cheese, breads, cereals etc on offer. One of the main reasons I returned to this hotel was the hospitality afforded me by its owner, whose standard of spoken German was better than my somewhat tenuous grasp of the German language!. The 3 night stay, during what is the middle of the Summer season, cost in total 273 Euro ( 249 Euro for accommodation + 3 x 8 Euro for breakfast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday). It was money well spent -- and I would heartily recommend BERGISCHE SCHWEIZ as a suitable and reasonably priced base to retreat back to after a day spent exploring what is one of the most interesting, varied and unspoilt regions in Germany: (its called the BERGISCHES LANDS region, and includes NEVIGES, famous for its Roman Catholic Pilgrimage Church, WUPPERTAL, with the overhead Monorail running through the city, and ESSEN, the city of KRUPP. All of these places can be reached by car or rail -- and the rail service connecting Langenberg is frequent and relatively inexpensive.

I wish the TV had had CNN or another English Language station-- but remember that this is Germany (native language: GERMAN) so one can't expect a service in a foreign language (English!). In my 3 day stay, nothing of either domestic or international significance occurred.
