We booked this last minute as we need a place on the way to the Sahara. We had no idea what to expect - and were thrilled with our stay, Pierre and his staff were outstanding, felt like we had found great friends in the Moroccan desert. We highly recommend dining with them - the dinner was outstanding and homecooked. Also - ask about his carpet boutique and his knowledge of the local carpet production. We also recommended a potters cooperative to visit in Tamgroute that was excellent. Dont miss staying with them!

The space is very beautifully designed, the pool was simply fantastic, an incredibly peaceful place to stay. Owner and all his staff were very accommodating and genuine. My room was basically perfect. Very well decorated and comfortable, and traditional style thick walls meant cool, dark, and quiet sleep. I have stayed at other nearby hotels and this one hands down wins.

Where to start? Pierre is a very friendly and professional host who runs his old and characterful hotel like it was your own home. The pool is a real treat and we are dinner and breakfast around it. The property is in the middle of nowhere and is very quiet. It’s so restful that I think the last time I slept so well was when I wasted 3 years in bed at university. Dinner was prepared on site and was a very reasonable 170 Dirhams per person. There are plenty of walks from the hotel, but even at 8pm it was touching 40c so grab a good book, sit by the pool and unplug from the 21st century for a few days. (that said, there is good wifi everywhere…)

At first we expected nothing from the city of Agdz and its surroundings. Totally unexpected we arrived at this gem called Dar Sofar. We had an amazingly good and comfortable stay and even extended it with an additional day. Definitely recommended!

The food was probably the best we had in Morocco - a very talented chef. The owner is a lovely person who accommodated our request to change the duration of our stay. Everything was very clean and warm.

There was only a tiny window in the room which made it a bit claustrophobic, but otherwise no complaints

This place is amazing! I know it seems slightly more expensive than other accommodation in the area, but it is totally worth it. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. We chose to have dinner here (which you eat by the pool, with the garden lit up), and it was SO good - one of the top meals of our trip. Pierre, the host, is very welcoming and friendly. You have to stay here if you are in the area!
