There is no reception, you need to check in, from another hotel, no lift for luggage

The Breakfast was at the Seminar Hotel a 10 minute walk away, which was not ideal. However the quality of the Breakfast was excellent. The rooms were clean and adequate. The reception Staff at the SEminar were always helpful in resolving Room issues at the Freihof.

The Wifi was not good, the room was noisy. It could have done with a small fridge and coffee making facilities in view of the distance from the breakfast location

The bathrooms are fairly new and the location (although right at the main road) was good for getting places. Luckily, we read about picking up our card at the SeminarHotel in the reviews. Good breakfast in the SeminarHotel.

It was quite expensive for what you get (although to add: Switzerland is - in general - an expensive country to stay in). Also there was menstruation blood on the side of our toilet that hadn’t been cleaned. And coming back from an evening meal in a restaurant, the room suddenly smelt of smoke really badly (the windows were closed). We concluded that the smoke must have come from the air vent in the room and that someone was smoking in their room. It was really bad (of course not the fault of the hotel staff). Also, for those sensitive to sound when trying to sleep: you can hear mumbling from people in other rooms through the vent. When arriving at the SeminarHotel for breakfast in the morning, we felt like we were being treated as second class compared to the guests staying in the SeminarHotel. Never have I felt that uncomfortable. So in general: Wouldn’t stay there again and certainly not more than one night. (PS: I‘m not usually one to rate a place this thoroughly but was needed this time).

The location is nice, the hotel is simple but very good value for the price. It is quiet, the room is small, but contains everything you need, even a good amount of amenities. Clean and well maintained

the only disadvantages that could annoy people are the checking in the seminar hotel and walking the stairs, because there is no elevator. But i knew that and did not mind it at all.

The check-in was around 500m away from the actual hotel, so this can be a small inconvenience... (not if you're by car)
