I have stayed in this area many times since my family is from there. The beds in Europe are always too firm for my bad back, so it's not fair to say that they were bad. They just weren't great for me. But I expect this. The hotel was clean, quaint and had a balcony view that was beautiful. Breakfast was super Italian. You are 3 minutes from the ocean and rail station, so getting clean salt air and a timely ride out of the station is great. The staff was, as always, friendly and helpful. The rooms are smaller than other hotels, but very clean and serve the purpose..SLEEP after a long journey. You don't have the issue of constant noise all night like being near the center or near the two main train stations like Principe and Brignole. You can reach Cinque Terre in minutes from Hotel Esperia. In fact, you can easily make day journeys from this location all the way to Pisa. Pisa is a longer day though.

we booked 11 rooms on a motorcycle trip to Morocco 🇲🇦 it is crystal clear, that we have to have daily staff meeting for Briefing purposes to run such a group of motorcyclist properly. The staff during afternoon helped us in relation of dinner reservation apart from the hotel. However arriving back from the dinner around 23:00 it is not acceptable, that we had to Stopp our meeting in the lobby at 24:00 due to some housekeeping regulations not noted in any pre booking policies- therefore we expect that a guest should know these kind of regulations before booking . For our opinion a lobby is a lobby 24/7 and a guest or a group of guests may make a use of it on purpose as long there is no big noise level disturbing other guests … as a matter of fact the majority of guests during this night where been our group members 🙋‍♂️

parking was tight but not anything bad, we just have a very large vehicle. was very fortunate to have spaces there and very secure place.

Close to the sea, trainstation with frequent trains to Genoa center, a nice park to walk, perfect restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel rooms are, although very clean and comfortable, pretty small. With two suitcases it's a lot of manoeuvring in the morning and the evening. Be aware that it could be a challenge to reach and park at the hotel with a large car.
