The location was great. We wanted to be close to the walled city, and the hotel was within close walking distance. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. They all made us feel welcome and just like family. Miguel answered our many questions and gave us some great information and advice. We enjoyed sitting at the outdoor tables each morning to start the day with the breakfast that was included. The typical breakfast of arepas was our favorite. We have happy memories of our stay at Casa Bustamante.

There wasn’t really anything negative except that it would have been nice to have had an extra pillow on each bed.

As a female travelling alone I was treated with respect and kindness. The security was very good and I felt safe at all times.

The staff are lovely. Miguel and Manuel, and all the ladies helping keep the property so clean and welcoming. The building is gorgeous, the beds comfortable, the rooms spacious, and the wifi just fine. We were concerned about having a room just off the lobby, but it really wasn't an issue. The rooms are decently soundproofed, and we hardly ever heard anything, or were heard. Not a concern at all. The shower is spacious with plenty of warm water. The pool are is great, and breakfast is delicious with a decent range of options. Highly recommended. Taxis are abundant and inexpensive, and both the beach and walled city are a short walk away.

Everything was better than we anticipated, pictures do not do justice to this place, their staff, service and a heartwarming invitation from the owners. If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay,relax, swim, do a bit of yoga, read a book and have a great breakfast, this is your place.

The room was very clean, and the staff was very friendly und helpfully -and had a good sense of humor. :) And the place was very quiet,too.

Casa Bustamente is very close to the historical center and the beach. The staff was incredibly friendly, the breakfast very nice and the rooms clean and spacious. We would recommend!

Unique style, spacious rooms and lovely staff

We loved this place. Is an authentic old house of Cartagena. The staff is amazing really lovely. The breakfast was super with four different choices. The swimming pool is well maintaned and big enough. The room was amazing as well, really wide and clean.

First of all, I must say that I've chosen Casa Bustamante because of colonial style to spend 12 days. The house is 120 years old, but Mr. Edgar (the owner) keeps the the Casa in ideal condition. More over, the Casa is adapted for the modern life style. Casa Bustamante is ideally located in peaceful neighborhood, near old city (500m), long send beach (50m) and airport (we never heard planes' noise :) ). Room is very big, like small apartment. The breakfast is delicious (we really enjoy in Colombian traditional food). The staff is the best I ever met (and I travel quite lot) -helpful, always with smile, friendly. I didn't use the pool, because I prefer sea, but you will enjoy in colorful garden and fresh, clear water (the staff is cleaning pool each night). I recognized that people usually stay 2-3 nights, but my worm recommendation that you choose to stay more days, because you can explore all Cartagena (all parts of city are very close to Casa Bustamante (3-3.5km the furthest)) and all parts of Colombia as well. You can work peacefully (WI-FI is perfect), you can organize some celebration, or even meeting. I wish to all further guests to enjoy in Casa Bustamante like I did <3

I like everything...just few recommendation for improvement, I've already recommended to Mr. Edgar: 1. Espresso machine - Colombian coffee is so delicious; 2. Machine for water filtration and 3. City maps

The position of the hotel was not far from city center (10 min walking distance to ciudad vieja) but the street was not the best (kind of an highroad).

Rooms are large with comfortable beds and great WIFI. The building is beautiful with its colonial style. All the staff were so friendly and helpful from the kitchen staff to reception. A small team with a family feel which we really enjoyed. You definitely feel a personal touch and they really go above and beyond. Definitely made for a memorable first visit to Cartagena and the location is ideal to walk to the centre. Very safe neighbourhood. Thank you to all the staff. We will come back in the future!

the location is great! 10min walk from the main center of cartagena and in the back is the beach. you get free breakfast, the customer service is great. there was parking for our rental car and Cesar stays up over night to make sure you get into the hotel in the early morning hours because the main doors are always locked.

the hotel needs a bit of an update but for the most part is a great hotel for the value!
