Great location in the centre of Ashbourne. The house was warm and very well equipped.

Parking was ok having to bump up the Kerb but we knew this beforehand, the road is very busy and car drivers were not very helpful letting us pull out, which is clearly no fault of the host but a little annoying.

The key could be in a better position had to go an hands and knees to read the code

Everything in the cottage was high spec. Excellent equipment not short of anything. Beds were comfortable. Cleanliness was excellent. Very close to town square with many pubs and shops.

Only fault was traffic noise through the night

Wonderfully spacious, incredibly comfortable and well-equipped property. The hosts have thought about every detail to make things as comfortable as possible for their guests, including a great sound system and high quality kitchen equipment, extremely comfortable beds, and lovely furnishings. We loved all the different areas to relax in - downstairs is huge! - with the kids being particular fans of the games room, and the various outdoor terraces a lovely boon even in early spring. Ashbourne is a lovely little town, with pubs and a great bakery just steps away from the front door of Lion House, and a good butcher and various lovely retail outlets very close by. Access to great walking routes in the Peak District national park is just a short drive away, and there are excellent quiet country lanes for early morning runs just round the corner. Also well located for popular tourist attractions like Chatsworth House and the Crich Tramway Village (each around 1/2 hour away). None of us wanted to leave!

The property is located on quite a busy main road into town, but double-glazed windows make the traffic noise less noticeable. A light sleeper or someone who prefers an open window might want to opt for the smaller twin bedroom at the back of the house.

Loved the decor in the property it was very homely and spotless! Beds were so comfy too! Would defo stay here again
