This is our second stay at the cabin. It's a wonderful place to stay with easy access to Hayward and all the local lakes.
Great clean place with tons of supplies for cooking.
We especially love it as a place to stay while visiting our kids at camp.

We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was out of the crowd in the city and there were a ton of little diners/cafes to go to. The cabin was loaded with all the essentials and very clean. Barb and Don were very responsive to any questions we had. And check in and out were easy! Thank you, Don and Barb!

This is such a perfect log cabin to stay on for 3 couples. It is very unique and interesting. Everything was very clean. Everything we needed was there. They have a cool little ice machine that one of the guys found to be a fun little thing. Beds were comfortable and every couple had their own bathroom. Trails are close and lots of restaurants!

We arrived at this lovely home that was FULL of character. It had a ton of room with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and a nice garage which provided good storage for our motorcycles.
I liked the area of the house as well with one exception.. None of us could figure out how to make a phone call. Wi-Fi was provided so we had internet connection but it was tough to text or call anyone.
It was a great gathering place for my brothers and our spouses.
I would absolutely rent this property again and if and when we come back to the Hayward, Wisconsin area.

We enjoyed the spacious cabin. Had everything we needed and more. Conveniently located near snowmobile/ATV trails. Hosts were gracious and quick to respond to questions. Would stay here again.

We came up to honor family who passed. This cabin was exactly the comfort we needed. It was clean, well furnished with touches of humor and life philosophy throughout. Very spacious yet very cozy too. Would book again in a second.

What a wonderful, warm, charming stay. The cottage is so much larger inside than anticipated. Rooms unfold as you walk through. Great location too. Had a cocktail at Ghost Lake Lodge across the street which is charming as well!
Thanks so much!

Just a gorgeous home. I loved the rustic feel of the wood floors and log walls. This home had everything you could possibly need and felt like we were actually home.

Only problem was the extensive water dripping from the ceiling of the East bedroom

What a wonderful place to stay. We've stayed in many cabins over the years and thius is by far the most interesting and enjoyable. Plenty of room for 6 people though there were just two of us and our pup. Don and Barb have done a great job with this property.
Plan on a tasty dinner across the road and plenty of places to explore in town and in the woods.

We had a wonderful stay at Barb and Don's log house near Hayward. The house is super clean (towels & linens were all fresh and smelled nice) and is very spacious with loads of charm and character. We had family stay with us and there was plenty of room for other family members staying elsewhere to come hang out with us after dinner. The house has everything you need, including a basket of toys for the furbabies. We would definitely stay again. Thank you, Barb & Don!

Cabin in North Woods
Modern log cabin set in a national forest with hiking trails all about. A lovely place to get away from the world. Thank you, Don and Barb for a great return stay!

Birthday Outing
The entire stay, 2 nights and 1.5 days was really wonderful. The cabin has so much character that you can literally browse a room, go back in later and find something new. Amazing!
Our stay and interaction with Don and Barb was the definition of outstanding customer service! You both are really great!!
Our group is now the 60+ vintage so the fire pit on the slope was not doable for 2 of our group but the pot belly on the deck was a great option to the ring. The VRBO pictures are pretty deceiving for water access. There really isn’t any water near the cabin. If bringing swimming stuff be sure to search out where area beaches may be.
The cabin is lovely … the paintings; wood burning art; crewel work and so very many incredible treasures to look at and enjoy is amazing.
You will want for nothing in the kitchen. Very well stocked!
We had a very nice time. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.

Spider Lake Cabin
This cabin was clean, perfectly stocked, and decorated very nice. The only drawn back for us was the location but the description of this property is very clear on the location so this was expected. Great cabin.

Beautifully restored cabin
I would highly recommend staying at this property! The restoration of this cabin was done beautifully! It kept us wanting to hear more of the history of this cabin. We were 3 couples riding motorcycles in the area- we enjoyed riding in the area; but maybe the best part of the trip was the evenings of playing cards and relaxing! Thank you Barb and Don!!

Great Time in the Northwoods
We found the property to one of the most enjoyable properties we have ever visited. It is spectacularly appointed to meet your every need. The interior decorating was tastefully done and I cannot say enough about the cabin layout. We also like the fact it was pet friendly as we brought our Yorkie with us.
Don and Barb were exceptional hosts and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Great communicators.
The only thing to note is that the cabin is on Route 77 in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest which is a main artery in this area. Also the location is listed as Spider Lake, and property photos can mistakenly have you believe this is a waterfront property. To be fair to the hosts it is not listed as a waterfront property, but based on supplied pics on VRBO you might make this assumption. However it is closely located to many lakes and recreation areas, so no complaints here.
A big plus for us was that Hayward was only 23 miles west of the cabin. There you have great dining and can pickup any supplies you may need or forgotten at the local grocery store.
Our trip was way to short (5days) and we were sad to leave. We will book a longer stay next summer.

More than a cabin in the woods
Set in a national forest, this historic home has been beautifully modernized and provided us with a restful, quiet vacation close to nature. Don served as an attentive host and a guide to the hiking trails and the unique features of the area. We had a terrific North Woods experience!

Roomy comfortable getaway
This property was roomier than I anticipated and had all of the comforts of home. There is limited cell service but dish network TV and WiFi were available. The country decor added to the vacation attitude and cozy feeling. While we were surrounded by nature, this would be at a premium price point if it were waterfront in my opinion.

Gorgeous cabin and incredible hosts
The house is gorgeous and incredibly spacious! The owners have done an amazing job of updating it while keeping its rustic charm. The beautiful hardwood floors, fireplace, modern kitchen, the stone tiled master shower…so many wonderful amenities. The house is spotless and the kitchen has everything you could need. I highly recommend staying there. You won’t want to leave the house.

Beautiful property
The whole process was phenomenal. Barb was extremely communicative and answered all my questions with kindness even when I looked after the fact and realized the answers were already in the provided info! The place is large, spacious, and provided everything we could’ve needed for our trip. It’s proximity to Hayward meant it was just a short trip to get anything else we wanted. Thank you so much!!

Fun stay
It was a good time! There were some sharp things around the yard we had to cover or pick up so our dog wouldn’t step on them. But overall very nice experience and AMAZING shower in master bedroom!!

Excellent cabin!!! Very clean. Well stocked with everything you need. Only thing was. We were under the assumption it was close to the water and the location being right off the main highway maybe difficult with smaller children. Otherwise we enjoyed ourselves very much. Thank you@

Cabin has a nice kitchen with everything you need to cook. Close to Mukwonago ski trails which are very beautiful.
