we had parking just in front and for free, room was clean, warm, with a decker bed and a single bed... nice eating area on 1st floor / living room, shared bathroom being decent... staff ( Elke ) was really friendly and supportive advising and guiding. As soon you go out the property you have the view of the Atlantic and the mountains in the background... literally 5 minutes walk from Husavik port... very good value for money...

the only thing which was unpleasant were some of the other guests not cleaning bathroom after using it... but we can't blame the host / property for this...

Great location, just a short walk from the harbor. The bed was really good.

The walls are thin so there can be some noises, however I had no problem with it, it was quiet in the evening.

The real stand out for me and my friends was the welcome we received. Elke who owns and manages the hostel rang when we hadn’t arrived by 8pm and waited for us to arrive. She was concerned about us due to recent extreme weather events in Iceland. This was our favourite hostel we stayed in during our trip and that was mainly due to Elke. She welcomed us and took the time to talk about the local area and made recommendations. The hostel itself is great! It’s ethos is to be environmentally friendly and sustainable. Inside is very clean and well maintained with great facilites and shared areas. The outside looks charming and welcoming. Street parking is available

The host and the common room was nicely decorated.

It was bit strange to stay in the entire hostel by ourselves. And it was really cold when we got in. We also did not expect to pay for towels.

The lady who checked us in was super nice and helpful. The installations were great and also the location. everything was super clean!

Because of the price we were expecting to have big towels included and also the beds already done.

There were not black out curtains, but I also didn't ask and see if I could get some.

Very nice house, centrally located. Felt at home instantly - comfy beds and the house has everything you need. Super friendly and helpul owner. Can definitely recommend it.

The owner & host is very personable and welcoming. She has created a lovely space for guests making imaginative use of recycled euro-pallets and other nice touches. The whole place is well thought out and comfortable. Great beds, even though the room we had was a bit narrow. Close to the harbour, shops and restaurants. Highly recommended.

Some of the electrical sockets in our room did not work, and Elke promised to get them fixed asap. I have no doubt that she will.

This place was really homey and great! The lady who runs it is super nice and made us feel very welcomed. The town is super cute, probably our favourite stop on the trip. If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable, warm place, this is it!

The whole place was very clean and the hostess was very polite. Parking is easy to find infront of the hostel.

I loved my stay at the Husavik Green Hostel. The place offers such good value for money, and a fantastic location right in the centre of Husavik, a stone's throw away from the whale watching places. The room was comfortable, as was the bed, and there was everything needed for a self-catered stay. I particularly appreciated the "quiet hours" there, which other guests stuck to. I also had the opportunity to meet and talk with the lovely owner, and admire her greatly for her vision and efforts in all that she does there. Thank you for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay 😊

The location was lovely as its in a residential street, and the Green credentials were exemplary. The fridge and storage areas for personal food were large, well labelled and easy to access.

The noise in the single room was disappointing, as the floors are hard and sound carries. The room is downstairs by the bathroom and the only other room there, is the bunk room so there are many people opening doors.

The most homey hostel that I have stayed in during my 2-week trip in Iceland. I love that there is an actual bathtub in the WC. Elke, the host, is an engaging conversationist.

The price is great for the area. the proprietor was kind. It was clean. centrally located by whale watching, water, and food.
