It was so nice to go out early to the Park and hike until we were too tired or too hot. Returning to such a nice home was so special. It was well equipped, comfortable bed, good shower, shady deck and more. Very responsive house manager!

My son and I were looking for convenience and access to the park and we got so much more! This house was quiet, clean and well stocked for a perfect stay. We were steps away from JTNP and the night skies were stunning. If you are looking for a quiet spot to relax after a day in the park, you found the right spot.
The property manager was very communicative and responsive.
To note, there is only one bathroom that is in the master bedroom. This is clearly laid out in the description, but worth considering if there are multiple families/friends traveling together. Perfect for one family.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Roadrunner's Roost. The house itself is fully updated, very comfortable, and has almost any amenity you could imagine (the only exception would be a washer or dryer for laundry, but that's perfectly fine if you know that going in). You almost literally could not be staying any closer to Joshua Tree National Park, and the town of Twentynine Palms is just a short drive away for restaurants, groceries, and the newly built National Park Visitor Center. The feeling of seclusion and privacy is exceptional and our only regret is that we wish we could have stayed longer! Patricia was very communicative (and was even able to stock our fridge with some farm fresh eggs prior to our arrival), and the arrival and departure processes themselves were also very easy.

This house is almost inside the park. The night sky is beautiful and the house is adorable. It is isolated so that it is peaceful but just a 10 minute drive to town. The host was one of the best I have ever had on VRBO. She sent a lot of communication making everything very easy. I highly recommend this property.

We stayed 4 nights at Roadrunners Roost and the house was perfect in every way possible- a great location, with a beautiful layout and an excellent kitchen and bathroom. A great amount of attention was put into the entire space, including furnishings and finishes throughout. It’s also amazingly quiet, peaceful and private yet so close to everything in Joshua Tree NP as well as restaurants and grocery stores in 29 Palms. We hope to return in the future!!

This house has been totally remodeled inside and is a beautiful home! Very nice kitchen with everything you need. Beautiful big windows around the sides and back of house that give you a wonderful view of twinkling lights at night in 29 Palms. Also, don't forget to look up at the amazing stars. The house has 2 comfortable beds and a huge bathroom. The living room has a large comfortable couch. Outside there is a nice picnic table with grill and a fire pit in the yard. You can see forever from this house and it is 3 minutes from the North entrance to Joshua Tree. Great location and very comfortable house! Would absolutely stay again.

The property is beautiful and freshly remodeled inside and has all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. The local coffee beans and farm fresh eggs were a nice touch! The grill and outdoor patio area were very nice and it’s a perfect spot for stargazing. A little less than 1 mile from Joshua Tree NP so very convenient location. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

This is the 2nd time that my wife and I have stayed at Roadrunner's Roost. Great location, quiet and scenic, close to Joshua Tree entrance. This property that is 5 minutes from the north entrance to JTNP is a perfect retreat, also close to funky 29 Palms. Down a passable dirt road, with only a couple distant neighbors, the house is completely updated to contemporary comforts and demands. Beautifully decorated in neutral tones and original art, with comfortable furniture for lounging, a fully equipped kitchen, and outdoor spaces tricked out for grilling, star gazing and decompressing after a day of adventure. So very quiet, peaceful. Amazing views of the town at night. Roomy shower in the bathroom, dual sinks, lots of towels in the linen closet. Good to know - the bathroom is accessible through the primary bedroom.

My husband and I stayed at this property for our anniversary. He is into astrophotography and it was a perfect location for that. The house was cute, cozy, and well decorated, just as the pictures show. Everything was very well done and Patricia was super attentive and wonderful to work with. Upon booking, she contacted me via text and email and sent links for the check-in process as well as everything about the property and surrounding area, which was amazing. Probably the best VRBO experience I’ve ever had. We are looking forward to coming back again.

Lovely secluded house!
We enjoyed out stay at Roadrunner's Roost. This was our first time at Joshua Tree National Park and the location of the home was perfect. We spent the mornings in the park hiking and the afternoons at the home relaxing. It was nice to be able to plug our firestick into the TV. The best part about this home and this area was that we could see the stars every night! We had a fire in the firepit one night and spent time sitting on the deck chairs. Happily... we did not come across any critters! Patricia was very welcoming and responsive during our stay. There was a basket of pamphlets that we found useful. We enjoyed farm fresh eggs from Patricia's farm. The one suggestion I would make is to have one bundle of firewood available to the guests upon arrival. Thank you for a lovely stay!

A peaceful getaway
Second time at this property. It is a true getaway as it’s located on a dirt road basically in the middle of the desert. Minutes from Joshua tree National park entrance. Bathroom is in the master bedroom so that can a bit of struggle if you’re with a group. I will always keep this place in mind when planning trips to Joshua tree.

Lovely Home in a Great Location
The house is located between the East Visitor's Center and the park itself, which gives great access to Joshua Tree. The house is gorgeous! The kitchen has wonderful appliances and a good basic assortment of pans and cooking implements. The beds are super comfy. Just remember to bring LOTS of water. We went through 7 gallons on our 2 night stay. Of course the temperature did hit 115 on one of those days, and we stopped hiking by 10:30 am when it was already 106!

Desert Tranquility, Part 2
This was our second stay at Roadrunner’s Roost, and it was another escape to serenity. RR is ideally located near the park, and this time I was inspired to climb to the top of one of the peaks that is located just north of the front door. The property is so comfortable, and has incomparable views of the desert. It is impossible not to relax while you’re there. You can spread your yoga mat on the deck and exercise in the morning sun, and then hike around the Pinto Mountains and into Joshua Tree National Park. Or wait until the sun sets and the moon rises, and take a walk underneath a carpet of stars. Jeff, the owner, and Patricia, the manager, have gone out of their way to create the perfect home-away-from-home. We truly love it and look forward to our next visit.

Wonderful house and wonderful manager. Very close proximity to JTNP and a short drive to the USMC Twentynine Palms Base (our son is stationed there). Exactly as the description stated ... clean, modern, quiet! We have never been to California or the desert before and this experience definitely made us want to come back. Roadrunner's Roost is a clean and simple property with a nice open living room, expansive patio and calm fire area. It's a good distance from the nearest property, giving it a feel of isolation and privacy.
The best part is the proximity to the Park itself, which is about a 2-3 minute drive to the pay station/entrance.
We even saw a roadrunner roosting in the rafters of the covered patio area near the garage!

Amazing desert experience
Communication was clear and concise with the property owner. The property is in an amazing and secluded area. Nights are pitch black outside and you’ve got a fire pit in the back that makes sitting outside at night magical. Upon arrival stepped out the side door and watched a hawk tearing apart and eat a smaller bird before quickly flying away. I cleaned up the remains. Reminder you’re in nature’s realm now. At night also saw what looked like larger coyotes and you could hear them all around. The house is amazing, so clean, any and every necessary utensil and cookware. Not far from a stater brothers. Minutes outside of Joshua tree national park. Will be returning if and when possible. Loved every minute of our stay.

Fantastic house, great location!
I’ve been to a number of VRBO houses, and this is one of the best. The house was very clean and everything, including the mattress, was new. Joshua Tree NP is no more than 5 minutes driving time. There was one house nearby, but no one was there. Apart from that, the house is basically alone in the middle of the desert scrubland, as if you’re high-style camping. The only downside were the numerous coyotes who, for whatever reason, decided to howl directly under the bedroom window every night. They’re much louder than I anticipated. And yet! It was nice to be in a secure place so I could watch & listen to the wildlife. A great place!

Desert Oasis
Roadrunner’s Roost is the perfect escape; not only from a quarantine, but also from the noise and pressure of city life in general. Equal parts comfortable and tranquil; the remote location and restful vibe were the perfect antidote to pandemic craziness. Located near the entrance to the park, but on a private road away from park traffic, the 2-bedroom, 1-bath house is outfitted with everything you need in a home away from home. The house was recently renovated, with a well-equipped kitchen, and well-appointed living and dining room furniture. The bathroom is en-suite in the master, with a roomy shower.
Set up on a hill, and surrounded by mountains on three sides, a favorite part of each day was the sunset desert hike, and watching the moon rise from the sun porch.
Patricia, the caretaker, was extremely helpful with check-in/out and addressed all of our concerns. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who is part of one of the oldest families in 29 Palms. We are definitely looking forward to a return visit, when the pull of the desert prompts us to escape again.

Well-Furnished House, Remote Location
The house is well-furnished and comfortable, especially with a nice porch, Sonos and TV. Everything is new and tasteful. It's deceiving when you approach, because the house is covered with unattractive siding. But inside the furnishings are attractive and brand new, including the porch and outdoor seating.
There are no neighbors nearby, and it is just a few miles drive to the park entrance.
The service and instructions form the rental agent were clear and timely. One thing the kitchen needs is a decent knife and new cutting boards.

Exceptional Joshua Tree access (and exceptional house)
Roadrunners Roost provided us with the isolated, desert feeling we were looking for, just outside the Joshua Tree entrance. It had everything we needed, especially in the kitchen, was spotlessly clean, and comfortable. Patricia had everything ready for us and was immediately responsive. If you want to be out of town and in the desert, the Roost is ideal. About a two to three minute drive to the Joshua Tree entrance, A major grocery store (with a pretty good wine selection) is five minutes away in 29 Palms.
