The house was situated perfectly for a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, and 5 minutes or less to the sound. It is ideal for anyone traveling with a dog as there are plenty of shaded walking options for the hotter months. We particularly enjoyed a morning walk along the sound. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed and was only a short drive to restaurants and attractions.

Very well-appointed condo/villa, no neighbors on 2 sides, short walk to the beach, trolley or walk to pools. Can't beat it!

Overall, we had a very nice stay for our 4 night trip. The house was in a great location and the resort was wonderful! There were many things to do and beach access was a mere minutes away by foot, trolley or bike/car. Plenty of space for our party of 10. The only negatives were what we have found to be common in busy rentals. Some lights not working, a few outlets with no juice, a bedroom tv wouldn't turn on and just the normal abuse from being a rental in a vacation town. The stairs did start to affect the older guests in our party near the end of our stay but they knew that coming in to this. It would not stop us from renting this house again and enjoying our time in Corolla! We would definitely come back here.

We did enjoy our days in the Mirage property: the thematic decoration, illumination, cleanliness and the neighborhood.
Debbie gave us something very important for large families, flexibility, and we are just looking forward to going back!

If you’re worried about being far from the beach, don’t be! There is a back path that takes you right to the beach in about 5 minutes by foot. There are tree roots on the path, so watch your step. If you want to drive and park at the beach that’s an option too. The location was perfect, the sports center had excellent amenities, and the property manager was very helpful! These beds were super comfortable too, every single person commented on how great they slept! It was a great spot for the family and big bonus, it’s pet friendly!

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this property. We loved the check-in process as it was streamlined, and a guest contact was assigned if you needed anything additional. An email was provided to let you know what to expect during your visit, along with the nearest grocery store, medical facility, info on the local trolley, and more.

Perfect Beach House
The beach house was roomy, clean, and perfect for our family & dogs. The property was just a short 5 minute walk to the beach. We did not use any of the sports complex amenities but there was a lot available. If you are staying in Corolla this is a great property at a good price.

Wonderful townhouse
I can recommend this 4 bedroom unit- the property manager was wonderful. It is an end unit, close to additional parking with a small pond near the unit- lovely to sit by. The unit was very clean- and we were able to use the trolley for the pool area.

Great off-season getaway!
We had a great off-season getaway to celebrate my partner's birthday! We loved the quick access to the beach, ample parking (probably because we were there in the off-season), and the accommodating & friendly staff at the rec center across the street. The beds & pillows were comfortable too!
Our only complaint is not having enough dish towels, we were provided with 2. The coffee maker doesn't align properly with the pitcher so inevitably coffee spilled out all over the counter and floor... more than once. Other than that everything was great!

Great Place
We stayed here for a long weekend, when a friend was getting married down the 4x4. It was a great place to stay for the six of us. The house was clean, rooms were fine, and we had no complaints. I would stay here again for a short weekend.

Not close to beach. Bring your own soap, tissues, TP & beach towels.
Kind of shocked that we had to ask for additional TP. Had to make the beds ourselves. Soaps provided were miniscule. No tissues or beach towels. Beach access is not easy. House is large & comfortable. Hot tub is a nice plus.

Perfection
We absolutely loved staying at the mermaid cove! The host Debbie was quick to reply to anything simple or silly that we needed or requested. We truly enjoyed the beautiful pond right outside our front door where we were able to fish and view turtles! The quick two minute walk to the Beach was absolutely amazing!
The house itself was very well kept up and clean! Plenty of pillows and linens for all!

Incredible Stay! BETTER than advertised.
One of the very best properties I've stayed at. Ideally situated, in short/short walking distance to both sound and beach. Access to BEACH CLUB, including three pools, beach service and activities for the kids. Communication with owner was fluid and flawless; such a kind woman. Cannot say enough and will stay here any time we make it bank to OBX. Thanks for everything, Debbie! Stay well.

Walked in the door and it felt just like a home. Nicely decorated, spacious and well supplied. Kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, even supplied games for bad weather days, which fortunately we had none. Plenty of beach chairs. Couldn't have asked for anything more, we all loved it and hope to return to same condo in the future.

nice location, the communication manager was very responsive. we had lots of fun. the only suggestion i have is that if will be great if you can leave some extra toilet rolls in each bathroom.

Mermaid Cove review
Overall our experience was okay. Home owner checked in on us during storm so that was very nice. Property could be cleaned better by cleaning service. Our shower curtain had a lot of mildew on it and there were hairs in sink and toothbrush holder. We weren’t provided sufficient bath towels for 6 people. Feel for the property compared to where we have stayed before it is a little over priced. Beach chairs And other equipment were provided so that was great. Being able to bring our dogs with us was the best part of our rental experience. Also there are several light bulbs out in several rooms including carport, bathroom, living room lamp, stairway, downstair bedroom and bathroom. There were at least 4 bulbs out. Several Doors around knobs were dirty. Bedspread in master had a big rip in in it.

Perfect Little Getaway!
The house was perfect for our two families! The Corolla Light complex was a wonderful added bonus. Unfortunately, the trolley wasn't running due to COVID and parking was difficult. The host, Debbie, was super responsive and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our visit.

Great house , great location
I enjoyed the house greatly. My only issue was the kitchen could’ve been cleaned better. But other then that I had a ball. The property manager was really responsive and helped me in anyway she could.
