My kids and I have been vacationing in Atlantic Beach for 15 years. We owned a cottage down in AB but sold it this year and we were looking for a place to rent for the 4th of July. Pineapple Place felt like a home away from home for us. The hosts, Patrick and Amy, were so friendly and accommodating, and they made sure we had everything that we needed for our stay.The deck was just perfect! There is a constant breeze no matter the time of day, and the location is convenient for everything! The outdoor shower was refreshing after a day at the beach and our Golden Retriever had a great time as well! Our family highly recommends Pineapple Place for anyone looking to vacation in the Southern Outer Banks!

This is a great little place to stay! It had everything we needed. Close to the beach, quick drive to Morehead City so husband could scuba dive, nice deck. Loved that it was dog friendly. Patrick, the owner, was awesome and so accomodating when we had a small changes of plans. Highly recommend!

Booked through Hotels.com but hoping to leave an additional review on this site. Beautiful property located within walking distance to circle, restaurants, and beach. Patrick reached out to us prior to check in to make sure everything was ok and to give us more information about the property and made sure everything went smoothly for us.. The condo was amazing and it had everything we needed. Eric and I enjoyed out stay very much and I highly recommend staying at this property. We will definitely be booking with Patrick again soon!!

Was an adorable house. Loved the porch but could have done a better job of cleaning we believe. We found some things there that were not too appealing such as what we thought was a feminine pad behind bed all balled up, then we were not notified that there were ant and bug traps underneath beds and one out in the open beside toilet which our dog got into. Thank God she did eat it and we caught her. Sofa smelled putrid. Pulled out cup holder on chair outside, and someone’s fake nails were in up holder. Piece of hair on wall in shower. Underneath lid on toilet, looked to be a drop of urine. We notified owner and property manager. I cleaned after finding all this and disinfected. But didn’t deal with the finger nails but sent pictures to property manager and to owner. I wasn’t offered a discount which would have been nice. We were thinking about leaving but decided to stay. There was a odor in there, but aired it out and got air conditioner going one day and got better. It had been sprayed for bugs about three weeks before we arrived. It was supposed to be odorless but I did smell a odor on wall. But could have just been how wood smelled? The blankets we had had a strong odor. Manager said it was tide. My eyes watered. She gave us a new mattress pad and new blankets which smelled much better without the strong odor we experienced our first night there. So that was helpful.
The owner and manager were very nice and listened us to our feedback.

We had an excellent stay at the pineapple house. I can't think of any amenities that were not available to us and the house was clean and comfy. The beach and restaurants were just a short walk away and the locals were all very friendly. I would definitely recommend to others looking for a vacation rental.

My mom, our dogs, and I had a lovely time staying at The Pineapple Place in Atlantic Beach. It was walking distance from the beach, restaurants and a local brewery, which we loved! Check-in and check-out were very easy and Patrick was extremely responsive to any questions we had. We can’t wait to come back!

Small and quaint. Decorated with pineapple theme. Would recommend for just 2 people. Is located on 2nd floor so have to climb stairs outside to get in. Arrived after dark and had to park in muddy grass. Needs more stepping stones! Door code was easy to use. Had most of kitchen stuff needed for making meals, but didn’t do that. McDonald’s is basically in back yard but surprisingly we never heard traffic. Beach is a very close walk. Neighborhood is quiet. Had electrical problem with space heater last pm. Lucky it wasn’t left on all night or would have caused a fire. Place seems to cool well with window air conditioners but heaters weren’t enough for cold. Has multiple tvs. Bathroom had a few ants in shower area. Towels were mismatched colors and had bleach stains on them. Floors were very clean. Nice to have an outdoor shower and water hose to wash off sand. Did not check out shed in back with beach stuff. Overall was a nice stay.

The property was everything it was advertised as. Only problem was the mattress in the north bedroom sags in the middle. And, advice for and older folks. It is an up-stairs unit, and at the end of a day full of adventure, those stairs were tough.

Delightful place in a perfect location, just one drawback
We very much loved our stay here, overall. The large deck is perfect for that morning coffee or to enjoy dinner from the grill, and the inside is very quaint and relaxing, just as the photos show. The location is incredible-- beach access is just a 2 minute walk! The owners were super friendly by text, check in was easy, and we were very pleased.
The only drawback is that the shower is either broken or intentionally throttled so that it cannot go above mild lukewarm (the lever won't let you turn it beyond half way). The other sinks have normal hot water, so it's specific to the shower. If this were changed/fixed, the place would be one I highly recommend, but I probably would not rent it again unless the problem were corrected.

This upstairs beach cottage had everything needed for a quick beach trip. Walking distance to restaurants and the ocean. It had a great deck where you can sit out there at night and hear the ocean. Quiet neighborhood. Would stay again!

Overall good
Our overall stay was very good. On the down side the only TV did not have local channels and the remote half way worked. We tried new batteries but it was still not working properly. During the day we were out a lot but at night we enjoy watching sports. We could not watch any of the football games or World Series. We could watch free TV otherwise. The bead room on the back side needs a new mattress. Our friends that sleep in there said it suck in the middle. The other headroom the mattress was very comfortable. Otherwise I would certainly consider staying there again.

when first arriving owner is sitting outside even though it was advertised to be guests only. they come and go as they please (staying in the bottom unit) without telling the renters and did not inform prior to stay that they would be renting out the bottom unit as well. window ac units are very loud and do not cool off the house, no washer/dryer, no dishwasher. furniture is cheap and uncomfortable. do not stay here if you don’t want unexpected visitors.

Nice place for a few days
We arrived to find the house clean and ready for us. The location is 3 blocks from the beach but easily walkable, and also close to restaurants, stores and shops. Safe, friendly neighborhood

Nice location, clean house
I've rented this property twice this spring (2021). Both times, I enjoyed my stay. The neighborhood is very nice, neat and clean. The neighbors are friendly! The house is very clean, and the AC is on when you arrive. All the appliances are clean, too. It's a short walk to the beach access, just a two or three blocks. I took my little dog with me. Please be aware that your dogs must be on leash, and you are expected to clean up after your dogs. I assume it is a local ordinance, and I support that! The only thing I could possibly ask for would be the addition of a dishwasher. I hate washing dishes! However, since I was on vacation, I just didn't cook. There is a Mcdonald's behind the house, and with DoorDash or GrubHub, you can order great food from local restaurants delivered to the door.
I wouldn't bring my 80 year old mother here, not would I bring a young child. The steps up to the rental are steep!
Otherwise, I love Pineapple Place! I felt very welcomed.

Pineapple Place is very clean. The kitchen has everything you need for basic cooking. The location is great in that it's just a short walk to the beach access. The neighborhood is quiet, and people are friendly. Very enjoyable.

Unit for sale
There was so much traffic. We had no privacy and there was no mention of the unit being under contract. Wish that the description has been more clear and up front about all of the interruptions. Realtor filming, the appraiser, the gas line ppl, and the heavy equipment people. Interruptions abounded. People came by to look at the listing too! With covid19 it was not convenient as we were there a lot. Owners and managers should tell vacationers up front when a unit is for sale.

Perfect weekend getaway
Property is exactly as advertised. Super cute and quaint, short walk to the beach. We brought the dogs with us this trip and there IS a gate on the porch which is very nice if you’re traveling with dogs. There’s also a brewery a street over if you like beer!

Cute little house!
Beautiful little house and very close to the beach. Fair warning though, the listing doesn’t mention that there are tenants in the downstairs unit. They were very quite and definitely didn’t disturb, but it would have been nice to have known in advance. We have a tendency to sit on the porch and talk and laugh pretty loudly late at night. I don’t think the downstairs tenants would have said anything but it felt rude to sit above them and be loud. Still had a wonderful stay and would stay again.
