This is a truly magical place. The hosts Yan and David are super welcoming and warm, the breakfast is outstanding. The villa is modern and stylishly decorated, with glorious views of the river. The sunrise and sunset are absolutely stunning and the infinity pool is just so inviting. We will gladly visit again. Thank you for hosting us.

Not sure where to start on how wonderful the stay at Casa de Ribadouro was. Complete accreditation to Yen and David, this far out ceded both my and my friends expectations - they have created a home away from home. We arrived by train and they kindly picked us up as we had a lot of luggage, and make sure all our dietary requirements were more than catered for with the provided breakfast, where the spread was incredible and included lots of vegetarian and gluten free options for us. All facilities and the whole house is extremely well maintained and cleaned. The bedroom was a large size with large wardrobes and have direct access to the breathtaking sights and the pool. We enjoyed swimming in the water pool and we were so incredibly relaxed. We also had the joys of visiting vineyards which are incredibly easy to get to by car and by train to a local town called Regua - both Yen and David have lots of information available to make bookings. We cooked dinner in their well equipped kitchen and enjoyed some local wines that they had available in the evening and asked Yen and David for company as they were really incredible hosts. I cannot thank you enough for such a memorable stay.

Nothing To Point

The location is perfect, the view is stunning, it feels kind of private with only 3 rooms. The pool is nice as well.

The bed is rock hard, you can hear almost everything from the other rooms, and though you have access to the kitchen the host are always around commenting on your doings and criticizing or commenting your every move. they live down the hall. Yan is nice, but it doesn’t seem like David like having guests very much. And if you read other reviews, we are not the only ones feeling that. But the place it self is worth a visit. Lack of a small fridge in the rooms, so you only have a small shelf in the hosts own fridge, witch are quite annoying.

We really enjoyed the view, the swimming pool, and the room. The house is very clean, well organized and well decorated! The breakfast was always delicious, with bread, croissants, fruits and orange juice. The best of all was to meet the kind, happy and always helpful couple that owns the house. Everything was perfect! We highly recommend it and we will definitely come back to this bit of paradise.

A little and peaceful paradise. We felt immediately welcome. Yan and David are special people. They opened their warmly arms to you. They help you with everything you need or looking for: activities in the area, restaurants or nice winery. We had a wonderful time in this area but also in the house with Yan and David. They have a special place in our hart now. The whole house is magnificent and you have the maximum luxury during your stay. Magnificent view from your bedroom and pool. Great hosts in a splendid house by the Douro river. The room as a pool front and a fantastic view. Guests can use the kitchen or order their meals from a local restaurant.

They were incredibly prepared with recommendations of attractions, which we completely did not expect. Also we did not expect this much grace and kindness in general. They had an effortless talent for receiving guests. All things that a person need is there. You can feel very satisfied and safe.

Yan and David are lovely, friendly and welcoming couple! They provide rich breakfast and delicious pancakes and eggs which David made for us:) they helped and support us for any our requirement during accommodation, we really spent amazing days at property; in clean swimming pool with amazing river view.we felt like our home since begining of arrivel there. surely we will stay again.Thanks.

The house was really nice but above all that, we had the pleasure to meet our host Mr.David. We were not counting on that, but after the 4 nights we stayed in Ribadouro House we left with the sense we made a new friend. David was an amazing, interesting and respectful person, who was always available to help, to guide and to prepare those delightful poached eggs! Going to Ribadouro House was an experience we would never forget and we hope to go back really soon! PS: We learned how to make a proper salade! Thanks Mr. David!

Once you arrive at the property you are surprised by the exquisiteness of the house. Lovely designed house, with lots of beautiful details scattered around the house. Big appreciators of design fusion, where east style meets west, and modern furniture and electronic come together with a fabulous antique furniture and elements of decor, collected over the years from different parts of the world and tastefully put together, will enjoy this place as much as we did. This unique experience is even more enhanced by the breathtaking view, which comes to display once you step out from the house to the terrace. We were charmed by the host and felt ourselves very welcomed throughout all our stay, for what we are very grateful.

David was an amazing host. Although we did not spend too much time at the house since we were visiting family, we enjoyed every second we were there and we felt at home. David was always caring for our comfort and offered everything he could to make us feel welcome. The house has an excellent view and the swimming pool should be amazing in the summer. I would definitely recommend staying at Casa de Ribadouro. Obrigado David!
