Clean, big room with a big double bed. You can have rest easily. The pool was nice also. Nice design. We had daily nice breakfast included at their restaurant. The owners are nice, they can arrange nice trips and excursions. Definitely recommend, value for the money and felt like home.

Abbiamo soggiornato a La Base per sole due notti, ma tornando indietro avremmo prenotato presso questa struttura tutte le notti della nostra permanenza a Zanzibar.
Posizione strategica per poter raggiungere con comodità tutte le altre zone dell’isola (servizio transfer eccellente). Gentilezza e professionalità da parte di tutto lo staff che si occupa inoltre di organizzare tour e escursioni presso le maggiori attrazioni dell’isola. Colazione ottima e varia, ristorante di qualità (porzioni abbondanti e prodotti di qualità). Ambiente giovanile, serate a tema e ottima musica.
Vi sentirete parte di una grande famiglia

Tutto. Struttura accogliente e pulita. Il ristorante con vista oceano offre piatti molto buoni e abbondanti. Tutto lo staff è premuroso e gentile, ma la differenza in positivo la fanno i gestori Cristian e Riccardo, sempre attenti e disponibili a soddisfare ogni esigenza. Particolare menzione per Federico, professionale e paziente istruttore di kite. Se dovessimo tornare a Zanzibar La Base sarà certamente la nostra base!

10 giorni a Zanzibar meravigliosi.
Camera nuova e sempre pulita, letto enorme e comodissimo.
Ristorante sulla spiaggia suggestivo dove viene servita la colazione, pranzo e cena, tutti preparati al momento.
Qualità dei pasti veramente alta tanto da non avere neanche la voglia di esplorare nuovi ristoranti nei dintorni.
Al di là dei servizi che la Base offre, tutti di altissimo livello, quello per cui si contraddistingue è dato dalla volontà e dalla capacità di tutti i ragazzi che ci lavorano di farti sentire a casa, tra amici in un ambiente dove regna l’allegria, la voglia di divertirsi e di farti divertire.
Tutti gli eventi che hanno organizzato, anche di natura privata, sono stati estesi anche a noi sin dal primo giorno facendoti sentire immediatamente incluso e non un semplice ospite.
Chi passa dalla Base non può non tornarci!

Roberta the hotel manager was amazing. she is super nice and we had great conversations with her. the two dogs at the property were the cutest little creatures. very nice garden to chill and relax away from the very busy beach. it is a little oasis.
rooms are very new, beautifully designed and the AC and internet are working great. the rooms are a short walk to the restaurant and the beach. the restaurant is beautiful and there are several sun beds to chill. overall the staff was very friendly.
not in the hands of the hotel, the walk to restaurant/ beach is not that nice

So kind of the Italian Lady Roberta, Luca and the owner, Checked in early offered breakfast on the first day which is unusual for most B&B's 😜

Land lords are very friendly and helpful. Very clean and comfortable rooms that have all you need. location is just at 2min walk from the beach where they have a nice restaurant, sun lounges, bar, and a kite school

The rooms are basic (it’s a B&B!) but spotless, bright, and comfortable. The property feels like home away from home. There are several friendly dogs/ cats.
The beachfront section is great, often the liveliest in the surroundings. The food is consistently good (the tuna tataki is delicious!) and fairly priced vs the area. There’s plenty of space to sit and/or relax. The kite lessons were great and the instructors do a great job.

We liked everything. That said, some remarks:
- As other reviews mention, the rooms are not beachfront but rather a 2 min walk from La Base’s beach area. Totally fine for us
- The street to the rooms can be dark sometimes. However we felt perfectly safe and there’s was a watchman at the property
- Outside of La Base’s control, but the power went out sometimes and also the internet slowed down at times (presumably when too many people were accessing the Internet at the same time)

The bed was really comfortable and everything was spotless clean.
Breakfast was also very good
It's not really something bad, but the restaurant and beach area are a couple of walking minutes away. It is ok, but it would be nice to know before. Even though the windows have mosquito nets, it would be great to also have nets on the beds, just in case (like it happened to me), some noisy mosquitoes make their way into your bedroom

The room and everything was as depicted and very nice.
The owners were very friendly and accomodating with whatever request we had. And also the brekfast was satiable and tasty.
The place is some 3 minutes walk away from the beach, but that was noted before we arrived.

The locations is very good. Restaurant on the beach and the rooms some meters away, but not far. Very good food, staff is so friendly. All was perfect. Maria and Cristian are so friendly people.
Only the bed is a little bit hard, but it's okay at all

The room and the compound were clean, quite and nice garden view. The room was also spacious with ample space for your stuff. The staff were polite and helpful. The beach front restaurant has a nice view that offered variety of activities, people were friendly and the restaurant staff attends to the guest's needs happily esp Siyad and the girls during breakfast. Grazie too to Maria!
The restaurant was separate from the rooms where guests stay, hence you need to walk down to the beach and back every time. Would also help if there is a water kettle for tea or coffee in the rooms, and a shower caddy for toiletries.

I've been there with my wife for 10 days and the place, personnel and food let us an excelent impresion. Our host, Maria and Cristian are verry welcoming, polite and friendly persons, ready always to help you with everything you asking for. Was a big pleasure to meet them.

We had a great 4 nights stay at La Base. Maria was amazing and always on hand with tips and advice. The food was delicious and great breakfast. The rooms were big and clean and the AC was amazing!

Maria is the best and the breakfast was the best I have had on a 3 week stay in Zanzibar. She got taxis for me and gave me advice. The AC is excellent for those hot days/nights, it is a little oasis tucked away. The room is a good size and very clean with lots of places for belongings with a great shower, very modern. I stayed 2 extra nights and decided each day to stay with no problem.
The rooms are set back from the restaurant up a little path but got taxi bikes/taxis home late at night so not a problem.

La Base is a beautiful modern hotel, with the sweetest owners and their crew of dogs and cats. Everything was simply perfect, from beautiful large rooms with very practical equipment, huge tasty breakfast, to the owners who are sooooo nice and always happy to help with anything. If you need stable wifi for work, La Base has it!
