The villa is very well situated, in a resort complex located 50 m from the beach, with all facilities in the vicinity but very quiet. The host JC (French who lives there and speaks the language), who owns the villa, is the best one I have ever encountered in my many years of travelling. Not only did he arrange for a taxi transfer from the airport, he was there at the villa to guide us around, explain things, and then took us on a tour around the main city Santa Maria, explaining where to exchange money, eat the best, shop for groceries etc. Throughout the week, he was there to help arranging for tours (we did sailing, quad, diving, kite surf), brought in some water as well, and was always reacting within a few hours on questions. Du jamais vu! The island itself is beautiful, the people are very nice, and this together with the quality of the villa and the JC service made it very special for all of us.

La ubicación. Insuperable a 100 metros de la playa. El anfitrión muy accesible y amable. Envió dos taxis al aeropuerto para recogernos y llevarnos directamente a la Villa. Al día siguiente nos llevó a Santa María en su coche, nos enseñó la población, nos buscó un vehículo de alquiler y nos recomendó los mejores sitios para comer o tomar algo. La playa era paradisíaca.

En dos habitaciones no había aire acondicionado y no se podía dormir por el calor en esta fecha. Muchos mosquitos. No tuvimos nada para poder preparar un desayuno el primer día (llegamos a media noche y cerca no hay supermercados). La discoteca BIKINI situada en la playa perturbaba la tranquilidad del entorno cuando ponía la música exterior a todo volumen; la dirección del Meliá debería tomar medidas para evitar esto. Desde la villa no se oía, pero el sonido natural y silencio en la playa se perdían por completo.

We spent an absolutely fantastic week at this villa (2 adults, 4 kids). It’s spacious, clean and well-equipped, close to the beach and pools and a short taxi ride (or walk, though it’s a bit of a bumpy ride with a stroller) from Santa Maria. The host (JC) was extremely helpful with offering guidance and general assistance if we needed something, and it’s clear that he cares a lot for the villa and keeps it in good condition. The villa area in the resort was not crowded, so all in all a perfect alternative to the bit more chaotic and bustling all-inclusive experience.

The villa is settled in a perfect location just 3 minutes walk from the best beach on the island, named Ponta Preta. It is located in a very nice calm resort with swimming pools and bars which gives you a lot of options for your stay. The nearby town of Santa Maria is just 10 minutes taxi ride. Beside that, there is a 24h security in the resort although the island itself is very safe and peacefull. Inside, it has 3 comfortable sleeping rooms, large living room with a kitchen equiped with a dish washer and a washing machine, huge balcony and a very nice garden with a small private pool, sunbeds and a table. One of the best things is that each room has its own separate bath which makes it very convinient if you are staying more people. The furniture is modern and all the home appliances are brand new. A very big plus is that you get your bath towels, beach towels and bed linens changed after 5 days. On top of everything, the owner JC, is the best host you can imagine. He was available all the time and gave us valuable advices and contacts regarding island tours, taxis, etc. All in all you can not wish for more if you're destination is Sal Island.

The house location is great, right next to the beach and with supermarkets and restaurants around. JC was a great host and he did everything he could so we could make the most out of our stay, he even helped us book the taxi from and to the airport!
