We loved everything about our stay. The house is just as described in the listing. The host stayed in touch and was easy to get ahold of for any questions. We will definitely be coming back!

This is my family's 3rd trip to Douglas Lake, and this was by far the best vacation spot! The house was beautiful, well-stocked, and very clean, But the property is what sets this location apart - a beautiful backyard, dock and a fantastic boathouse complete with a ceiling fan! Our family of 7 had a blast and are looking forward to returning next summer!

Remote with narrow / slightly long and slightly steep gravel driveway but still good overall due to privacy. Very good water access but sometime in the very near future the steps / boat / covered lake house area will need shoring up due to erosion and weathering and will be a safety concern very soon if not already. Plus hot tub leaked but no other concerns. For the price, we would stay again. Host was very obliging and good to deal with.

Our stay was perfect! Its close enough to enjoy Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg but also far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. We absolutely loved being on the water! It was so warm and all ages enjoyed themselves. The owners have thought of everything at the house and have everything to make your visit enjoyable! We definitely recommend and would come back!

Cozy and livable. Almost everything we needed was there, so I had way over packed. Loved that the dinning table sat 10 so we could enjoy family meals before heading down to the dock. The dock house was a great place to have morning coffee and keep an eye on the kids while they fish and swam. Communicating with the owners was quick and helpful. 15 minutes to Food City and 5 minutes from a convenience market. Will definitely be back to this location. It’s perfect!

This summer, we opted to stay closer to home to avoid a long drive to the beach. I’m so glad we did! Our first experience renting a lake house couldn’t have gone any better.
I picked this place based on the listing, but the photos don’t do it justice. It’s way better in person! While our group was small, there’s room here for a larger family or two families, etc. The stairs down to the lake weren’t as bad as I thought they’d be. The house is tastefully decorated, like a lake house should be, not trying too hard. (The house plants helped me miss my own a little less!) There are tons of games, cards, corn hole, etc., available, and the book selection was spot on.
The lake was beautiful and peaceful, not like some lakes I’ve been on that seem crowded and/or dirty. Even though we visited in June (not the best fishing weather, so hot), we caught fish off the dock: drum, smallmouth bass, bluegill, and catfish. Because it was so hot, we played and floated in the water quite a bit. The boat house is great!
Dandridge is a good spot, too, if you want to travel (hour or less) to hit tourist spots like Bush’s Bean Museum, Forbidden Caverns, or drive on into Pigeon Forge.
I’m convinced this location is the best spot on the lake. Our hosts were quick to respond any time I had a question, which wasn’t often, as the home was well equipped and check in and out was easy.

We had a great time! The property is at the end of a private road. We felt like there were no other people around us for miles. The boat docks and boat house are a little walk away and some stairs, but nothing that would deter us from renting again. Mike checked in with us during the week to make sure things were going well. It was better than the pictures make it look!

The property was even more beautiful then the pictures do it justice. Everything from check in to check out was flawless. The house is on a point with neighbors to each side but you wouldn't even know it. Its located remote enough for solidarity but close enough to town that you dont have to worry about forgetting things. The kitchen had the perfect amount of essentials to grab food for the house or bbq. The boat house allowed great relaxing time while the kids swam and fished. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and hot tub listening to the rain fall one evening. For our 1st VRBO experience we couldnt have been more please with the host or the property. We've already discussed a return trip with another family!

Wonderful home with great views from many rooms and full length lanai. Well furnished and great place to relax after a day of fishing. Easy launching boat from Dandrige public dock just across lake and then tying up at property's dock during our stay. Enjoyed fire pit and the wildlife: raccoon, fox, eagle, deer, wild turkey... Lagniappe was catching 10 bass including two 4 pounders in 2 days of fishing at spots very close to property. Hope to return some day soon.

House was listed as described! Owners are easy to work with and go above and beyond to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Having a dock for our boats with access to power are essential for our trip. Other plus is the internet reliability and speed. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great place on Lake Douglas.

We recently rented for a spring break family vacation. The listing was just as described. Plenty of space for our family of 5. Bunk beds in two rooms was a huge plus, and provided sleeping options for picky kids. The home was super clean and stocked with plenty of towels and linens. The views were amazing! Even though the lake was down (as expected for winter/early spring) the kids had lots of fun fishing and playing on the rocks. The yard was great for yard games, too. All and all, highly recommend!

We had such a wonderful time relaxing at the boat house. Home has everything you need. Close proximity to many things to do in the area and still feel like you're not in the tourist area. Really feels quite and remote.

Our single son couldn't fit in the Sleeping Niche, so he slept on the sofa and used the niche under the stairs for his bags. The sleeping niche is for a small child, not for a 40 year old man! LOL

Wow! This place was amazing. The owners were very responsive, the house was super clean and we loved the boat house by the lake that was stocked with floats and lake toys. The driveway wasn’t a big deal and we drove up and down it just fine in our minivan. Highly recommend!

Fishing Trip
The house was clean and ready for us! Prefect spot to keep the boat docked in the water to fish throughout the day. Driveway can be an experience but nothing of concern if you following the owners instructions. Internet is top notch, no issues streaming on multiple TVs and great for wifi calling. The owners are friendly and very responsive! Enjoyed the stay very much and we will be back next year.

Wedding trip
My family and my parents were in town for my son’s wedding. This cabin was in the perfect location and was just what we needed. The only negative was the driveway. It had quite a few ruts in it due to summer usage and probably weather. Felt like we were off-roading when trying to get to the road. Other than that, it was great! VERY COMFORTABLE beds and pillows!!

Great Trip, Beautiful Property
We had a great week at the lake! The property was exactly as shown in the pictures, with plenty of room inside and out. The boat house was our favorite place to hang out! Quick communication with the owners, who were very friendly and responsive. The driveway is dicey, as described in earlier posts, and it's best to not bring a boat trailer down the drive. We stored it at the top of the drive for the week with no issues. Overall great experience.

Great Getaway
We really enjoyed our stay here. Other have talked about the driveway being and issues, and you do have to be careful and hit it just right, but our minivan made it in and out daily. Other than that, the place is awesome. You couldn't ask for a better location. We spent many hours swimming in the cover off of the private dock. The private boat house had a nice furnished area overlooking the lake that was just right for our family to sit and relax. The house itself was clean and looks amazing. Most importantly, the owner's communication was great. If I had a question, his response was usually instant. The longest I waited for a response was maybe 15 minutes. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing house and views!
We rented for 7 days and wish it were more. The lake was our favorite and where we spent the most time. The sunsets were amazing, if you love fishing this is a great location. I would recommend bringing or renting a boat. We will next time. The house is beautiful, comfy, charming, and we can not wait to book with family and friends. I had humming birds flying next to me while grilling. It was so cool to see, we took so many pictures on this vacation I keep looking at them wishing we were still there. Be prepared for a fun , bumpy driveway 4 wheel drive or .Awd I would recommend like the property manager stated. Book this house if you are looking for a relaxing, beautiful views and fun.

Peaceful Getaway
I rented this home to share with my friend and her family. We had plenty of space to spread out and the beds were so comfortable. The house is beautiful and has an awesome view of the lake. I really didn’t want to leave the back porch. Spent a lot of time in those rocking chairs drinking my coffee and just watching the lake. The boat house is so nice and we spent a lot of time down there as well as swimming and floating around in the water. So much fun.
We had so problems with the hot tub and Mr. & Mrs. Markham came out and looked at it right away. They are so easy to communicate with and very helpful.
The driveway is a challenge and would be better if you have 4 wheel drive. You won’t get out with a regular car.
This was the perfect location. Private and away from all the craziness of Pigeon Forge area. Rest, relax and enjoy! I hope to come back someday. Beautiful sunsets.

Beautiful home!
Our family really enjoyed relaxing here. The property was as described. A couple of us did get stung by yellow jackets within 5 minutes of arrival because there was a nest under the deck gate. I was worried they would bother us all week but we sprayed and didn't have another issue. The kitchen could have used a couple more things but we made do. There were plenty of towels and linens. Everything was very clean. The lake and boat house were beautiful and we also enjoyed the fire ring. Wonderful home!

Cat cottage
Cabin was cute, with enough room for a big family. We spent most of our time at the boat house swimming & fishing. Mainly because we couldn't breathe in the house. I would suggest if you have cat allergies to avoid this rental. My children are highly allergic to cats and spent most of the week having to do breathing & steroid treatments. I felt so bad for them. I even had my husband go buy a hypo allergenic furnace filter for the cabin in hopes it would give them some relief but it didn't help at all. It did help the cat urine smell by the main hallway though. If we would of known it was a cat house we would of canceled well in advance. We booked the cabin through the previous owner, I was told the booking would stay the same. New owner upped the rental price $200+ (due to taxes?) and then we were suprised the game room in the listing was no longer available when we arrived. Driveway was not too bad, we had 4 wheel drive vehicles though.

Relaxation!!
After spending time in the Smoky Mountains, we were looking for a place to relax and rejuvenate before making the trip back home. We ended up spending two nights and I wish it was more!! What a beautiful home with everything you needed. My husband and son love to fish and caught bass and bluegills off the dock. The lake was gorgeous for swimming and floaties were provided as well. The boathouse is spectacular and sitting down there at night watching the fireflies was very cool. We loved all the board games as well as the outside games that were available. We grilled out each night. Mike was an excellent host- responsive quickly to any questions we had. Just a heads up- driveway is steep. Overall, I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a place that is close to the hustle and bustle of Pigeon Forge but relaxation and solitude for the evening!

A hidden gem in all senses!
Property is wonderfully remote and hidden with beautiful views of the sunset and sunrise on the lake. Property is clean and well furnished more than represented in the price. Owner was greatly communicative, polite and answered questions on local knowledge to help when we arrived. Great for kids, adults and more. Lots of memories made on a great week with two families with young kids on the lake, and surrounding attractions. We would return to this property again!

Perfect stay for new college alumni
This property was everything my friends and I wanted and more! We almost never left - there was something for everyone, from being on the lake kayaking or swimming to sitting by the lake or spending time in the beautifully renovated property. Everything looks and feels brand new. We got to use the hot tub and the fire pit as well as the grill which were all very easy to use and had clear instructions. The hosts were fantastic and extremely responsive to any questions we had!

Fishing Trip
Fishing Trip was good, the cabin was nice and the internet was outstanding. Owners are great people and easy to communicate with. We only had one issue with the AC unit but wasn’t a huge deal for us. The AC has been serviced and is working. Cottage is on the water and is in a quiet cove. Really enjoyed the stay! Drive way can be an issue if you are pulling a boat so make sure to read owners instructions.
