The property is an older house that can sleep 20+ people, as a family of 3 (and a dog) we found it large but comfortable. There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor so we never needed to go upstairs. It is situated on a small farm with many animals in pens and the field including wallabies, donkeys, various birds and small mammals. It was lovely. It would be a great place for a large family getaway, a small park on site with climbing frames, swings, football goals and a trampoline is great for the kids. Only 7kms from Ypres with plenty of places to go and walk. De Sulferberg is a must for a walk with kids. 6kms with play park, trim trails and areas to build dens which will keep the kids entertained for hours. The hosts were lovely, we had fresh eggs and freshly baked brownies from Irene and Hans was really helpful with places to go, although Hans is working with the animals he doesn’t impose on you at all, but you can help him feed if you want to. For us it was relaxing and friendly, we would be happy to go back for the odd weekend to explore more of the area.

The property is old and a little tired but has everything you need (and more). It’s a little difficult with a dog who isn’t used to animals as there isn’t an enclosed area where they can be let off the lead.
