The house was not as advertised. The listing pictures were not recent and did not reflect the true status of the home. The bathrooms were not well cleaned or maintained and the two upstairs showers were not large enough for a normal-sized adult to fit in. There were exposed electrical wires throughout the house and a musty, mold smell permeated the entire inside. The kitchen was not well-appointed with necessary utensils and cutlery. The house was extremely dusty and looked like another party had just left- coolers and other items were left throughout the home that should have been discarded by a cleaning crew.
The two positive aspects of the house were the close proximity to the beach and there were AC units in each bedroom, so the house stayed cool.
I would not stay at this house again due to the lack of cleanliness and the misrepresentation from the listing.

Home location: Excellent- close to neighboring towns and backyard steps to the beautiful private beach.
Home condition-a bit tired. We never tried the fire pit nor the fireplace. Only 1 working shower on the first floor (sign on 2nd floor said the 2nd floor shower not working).

This is place is a perfect lake house! The rooms are much larger than the photos make them seem.

Location was awesome! Easy access to beach with amazing view. House is old and rustic as listed so nothing unexpected. Could use some improvements. Appears to have some updates in decorating and bedding then what is shown in pictures. Beds were comfortable and house was spacious and so was the property. Great family vacation with 10 adults and 2 children.

The 2023 reviews of the property did not reflect what we found in 2024. We found a well maintained older lake house that had plenty of room for 3 couples. The walk down to the beach was through a steep set of stairs so be forwarned. The grill worked perfectly, towels were available and all we needed was there. The town of New Buffalo is wonderful and very welcoming.

This house was beautiful with an even better view of the lake! You can tell it is an older home but is very well kept. We had an amazing time here!

Deck surrounding the house needs some TLC, but was a great place for coffee, and conversing.
Shower outside the back door was perfect for washing off sand.
No air conditioning in some bedrooms - ugh!
Washing machine stopped working and no one came to repair it.
Sand and dirt in the house when we arrived. Stairs had not been swept or mopped. Sand & dirt under couches in living room and beds in bedrooms. Some covers in bedrooms had bugs on them.
Kitchen floor had not been properly cleaned in who knows how long. Kitchen faucet dripped constantly.
Bathrooms were not completely clean. Hair was evident around toilets and sink.

Extremely unkept. Smell of mold- particularly upstairs. Needed to do cleaning myself at beginning of the week.
Numerous items under the couch (cherry tomatoes, stuffed animal and dirty s socks). Used tooth brush in the bedroom.
Poorly stocked kitchen. Very little grass in back- mostly mud. 5 windows would not open at all. (Difficult without central air.)
With that said the location was perfect. Shame more time isn’t spent on basic upkeep and maintenance.

The house is old, but nice. Great downstairs with fireplace, dining area and separate lounge area. Some lights did not work and one of the bedrooms is a bit cramped, but overall a very nice property. Access to the lake is very convenient and a nice experience.

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. The location is incredible. Stairs right down to an amazing beach. Right down the street from good shops. Location/lot are incredible.
The house is pretty worn. Multiple broken doors, paint cracks, no central air, no dishwasher, lots of general wear and tear. But for what we wanted (young family beach vacation) it was great. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Location location location!
The location was perfect! We were able to walk everywhere and the beach access was perfect!
The house was a little disappointing although the pictures didn’t lie they didn’t tell the whole truth. The downstairs bathroom was great! The upstairs bathroom had wall damage that had been repaired but not painted. The shower wasn’t clean and it was tiny! The comforters were stained or had dead bugs on them in two bedrooms. The kitchen was not clean….dead flies covered the windowsill and sink and counters.
The downstairs was huge and open which we loved!
