Great location

The piece of property was very well taken care of and everything we needed was there. Thank you for a great stay!

The location is great. We can dock our boat and have easy access to the lake. The kitchen has a lot of cookware and good set of dishes to use, very convenient. We like the DVD collections. We love all the water toys provided including floating toys and kayak. The kids loved the hot tub,have great time in the cabin.

Pros: -Owners were kind, responsive and reasonable -Yard, dock and lakefront are beautiful -Resort is about a 10 minute boat ride -Very nice deck overlooking lake -house was clean Cons: -30 minute drive to store. There are no restaurants or shops in the area -the stairs to get down to the house are horrendous. That was the worst part of the whole trip. It honestly had a big impact on our vacation because it was so awful going up and down. -the cabin looks bigger in the pictures. It’s pretty “cozy” -there were mouse droppings in the house but we were warned about that. We didn’t leave the door open but I’m sure it’s easy for them to get in -parking is terrible and good luck trying to get an Uber. This created a logistical challenge when family would come visit. They had to park at a Marina about 15 minutes away and we had to shuttle them over. -the neighbors are close (one on each side). -beds aren’t very comfortable My advice is to not stay here unless you have a boat. That way you can avoid the stairs if you want to go somewhere.

This is a Great Lake property. Right on the lake with and excellent dock. Plenty of room for six adults. Very well stocked with supplies. Hot tub was a great bonus. Loved out time there!

Second year coming back to this property and we loved everything about it.

Our family had a great stay at this property 80% of the time, but I wouldn't recommend it unless the negatives are addressed by the property owners. POSITIVES: location incredible; views are majestic; the house was well-appointed, cozy and very clean; the dock and boat slip perfectly convenient; nice deck/outdoor seating area. NEGATIVES: undisclosed legal easement allows neighbors on both sides to come and go across the property anytime, so there's no privacy outside; septic smell was wafting in the air periodically.

The Barn Owl Cabin offered everything we were hoping for in terms of comfort and coziness...and more! The well-equipped kitchen (including blender that we used for our homemade salsa), aquatic toys (canoe & kayak), hot tub (perfect for the cooler weather we had early on), corn hole set (when it got warmer), and fire pit (including skewers for Smore roasting) made our stay filled with fun and lasting memories. We also rented a pontoon boat (which we were able to keep overnight at the provided dock) that allowed us to take long tours around the lake. And while we were certainly impressed with the dozens of lake-side mansions situated around the lakeshore, Iʻm not sure any of them come close to the charm, fun, and comfort of the Barn Owl Cabin. We definitely hope another stay is in our future.

This property is absolutely beautiful. The property manager was so easy to work with and very accommodating. The unit was extremely well stocked with everything you could need. We had such a great time. My only word of caution is to be prepared for the "trip" from the parking area to the cabin and back.. It is literally 100 stairs, so unloading and loading was a bit challenging.

Excellent from check in to check out. Beautiful space. Super close to neighbors. And other reviewers said they weren’t kind but I find people are kind if you’re kind. And we met some new friends and had a blast. If you’re looking for privacy, you’re close to the neighbors for sure! But the house. The space. And the lake is straight gorgeous. Immaculate. Clean and super responsive hosts. The stairs are no biggie. Park below to drop off and then drive back up to park. Enjoy. We will be back. Thanks Nate and Michelle!

We had a wonderful time in the lake and hot tub. Nice relaxing vacation. House worked well, steps were a good calorie burn from over eating on vacation. Will try and come back next year.

We absolutely loved staying here. It was perfect for our large group. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, the bedrooms were lovely too. We brought our boat and the dock was really nice to use. The fire pit and kayak were also enjoyable and used a lot. We definitely appreciated the easy check out, there wasn't a long list of things we had to do and they removed the garbage for us after our stay which was a huge bonus.

If you value a clean and organized house then this will hit the spot. We did not feel "icky" taking a shower or lounging around. Updated bathrooms and comfy beds Property owners communicated almost instantly on messages. The house is a 25 min drive to CDA. Every picture you see of the property does not fully paint the wonderful experience you will have. The elderly people in our group enjoyed the balcony and the view. Us younger ones and kids were goofing around at the dock swimming and jumping from everything we could climb on to. Place is perfect for swimming. Small kids have a shallow area. It was so nice to walk out the kitchen and to the water in less than 15 seconds. Once again I cannot describe how well this place hit the spot for people who love water and taking in the views. Some things to consider: There are 105 stairs to get to the property. The stairs are extremely sturdy and well made. I carried a large bucket down using the rails as support and the stairs were so grippy that my footing was stable and great even when I leaned sideways into them. This place was so nice that even our elderly and out of shape parents did not complain about having to use the stairs. Having such a bad attitude as to complain about some stairs at an otherwise perfect property is sad. My wife and I used the stairs as a workout every morning. Climb up the stairs, (including the 4 wooden ones at the top) turn left and go up around the loop and down on the other side. Do that 10 times in a row in under 40 minutes and the beer afterwards will taste extra good. I made the trip a total of 64 time. My plan was 100 but once the vacation bloat and lethargy kicked in we got progressively lazier. Again, there are stairs, and again, they will not hurt you just use it as an opportunity to get some blood flowing crybaby! The kitchen has some cabinets that stick out right under the section you will most likely do food prep. You will hit your head. We made a joke out of it and counted who would hit their head most often. Grandpa won. A soft rubber pad would help. Don't try to be nice to the people west of you. They are jerks. No social skills and just awkwardly rude. They will pretend that they cannot see you so don't bother waving, smiling or trying to socialize. They don't want anything to do with you. Even if you go to bed at 8PM and never play any music at all they have a stick up their behinds. We booked this place for 10 days next year already! AWESOME!

This is a beautiful property. The cabin is very nice and clean and we loved the large deck. There is plenty of seating so it is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the beautiful view any time of day or evening. The propane BBQ was new and we used it many nights. The kitchen was well stocked. The bathrooms have recently been updated and are very nice. The bedrooms were a nice size. The lawn area is a little small but was adequate for our use. The dock is really nice and it was great to have a covered slip for our boat. We also enjoyed the fire pit. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had. We accidentally left a few items behind and they graciously collected them and returned them to us. As previously mentioned, there are close neighbors on both sides but they were only there on the weekend. The stairway down from the parking is 100 steps but they are very sturdy and new. We used the narrow road down to the cabin to unload our vehicles. You do have to walk in front of one of the other cabins as you unload your items.

There are approximately 100 (some very steep) stairs to get down to the property from the (dirt/gravel) road where you have to park. We were able to unload at the neighbor's property when we first arrived, but it is very labourous to get into and out of the house so we suggest getting all your groceries before you arrive and take as few trips as you can in and out. The road to and from "town" is extremely curvy and it's nearly 35 mins one way. Other than that, this is a nice place to stay. It is directly on the water and has its own private dock. We had a fantastic time on the lake. Sunsets are beautiful!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. We were lucky to not have neighbors most of the days as the homes are close together but it was the perfect place for our family to gather, play games, sit by the fire at night and the jacuzzi was an absolute must! We rented a boat, fished (using the cabin canoe) and hiked. The beds were cozy and clean. The owner was quick to respond and help out when needed. We would definitely recommend The Barn Owl Cabin…

This property is misrepresented in so many ways. There are 100 steps (literally) from where you park your car to where you bring your luggage down to the house. Other family members couldn’t come visit because even without luggage down the slippery , steep steps was treacherous, never mind going back up the 100 steps every time you left. We were told the day before we arrived that the dishwasher was broken. We had planned to host for a barbecue but that was not an option given all the dishes and the fact that they couldn’t even get up or down the steps. The place also had no batteries in any one of their fire alarms. They did give us a decent discount but overall I would not recommend this property at all, even with the discount.

The property looks exactly as it appears in the pictures! We had an issue out of the host’s control but they responded immediately and professionally and did everything in their power to resolve the problem. I highly recommend!!

The property is great. My family and I had a great time enjoying the beautiful view and hanging out on the dock. The house was very clean and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. We would highly recommend any family to stay here.

We had an amazing stay! The homes layout was great, add in the lake at your feet with a hot tub and fire pit and it doesn’t get much better. We were also close enough to the city of Lake Coeur d'Alene that there were plenty of activities to enjoy. The owner was great to deal with and was always prompt about answering any question I may have.

We had an awesome time at the cabin! The views were amazing and we could not get enough of the hot tub. It's a little sketchy driving to the cabin, but worth it for the secluded lake front. The stairs to the cars were tough for our older guests and the dirt roads can get sketchy in the rain. All in all, we had a wonderful time staying here!

The property is gorgeous and clean and has many nice features. The owner was easy to work with and generous with the check out time. The drive was a bit treacherous to it, so I would recommend having an SUV. If you have any ambulatory issues there are lot of stairs you will have to navigate to get to and from the property.

Clean, well appointed and comfortable. No cable TV or WiFi.

Everything was as advertised. Beautiful location, beautiful view. Couldn’t be happier with our decision.

Great home in beautiful mountain setting. Comfy beds. We went kayaking right from down from the house. Property owners are very nice.

We stayed for a girl’s trip and it was a perfect place for hot tub chats and dinner/drinks on the deck. We were a group of 6 and had plenty of room in the cabin. It is a solid 30 minute drive to downtown CDA but we enjoyed the privacy of the location.

A wonderful time for all of us ages 64-82! Incredible lake views, sunrise and sunsets, perfectly relaxing. Thanks for providing water toys!

This cabin was beautiful! We loved being right in the water and enjoyed our time there. Would definitely go back. Owners were great to work with!
