Easy check in, check out. Extremely clean and just as advertised!! Loved our stay. Host was quick to assist with any questions. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful property and plenty of space to relax and enjoy inside and out. We had a couple minor issues. Light bulbs burnt out in bathroom and on the deck, fan in master bedroom wasn't working. The upstairs AC stopped working our last night there which isn't anyone's fault, however 4 guest had to move and sleep elsewhere in the home because it was way to hot on the 3rd floor. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend! I would have to say that the checkout was a bit much. Not sure how I feel about having to remove all the used bedding and towels and placing in the basement, as well as emptying all the trash cans in the house, including bathrooms. We would never leave a mess but if your paying a hefty cleaning fee, I think some of this should be included.

Myself and a group of friends came in for a weekend wedding and had an amazing time! The house was fantastic. The woman who was cleaning thought the check in time was 5 instead of 4, so we did end up crashing her expected work hours a bit- but it was no problem at all, and the place was already in great shape!

We love the beach but this property was so nice we stayed by the pool and the dock more than we did the ocean! One of the best houses we have ever rented!!!

Our family had a great time at the property. Plenty of room for the 8 of us. Enjoyed the pool, hot tub, kayaks, grilling and relaxing in the evening either listening to the sound system outside or enjoying the views from the upstairs deck. Loved the kitchen and enjoyed cooking in it. There is currently construction going on next door but it really wasnt too bad as they were courteous in the morning. Could have provided more towels so we didnt have to wash as much, and one of the bedrooms was missing a top sheet. Overall, wonderful property. Would definitely recommend.

My wife and I recently stayed at Happy Hicks along with our 3 children (all under age 9). We thoroughly enjoyed everything about the house. The outdoor activities were endless...the swimming pool was warm/clean, the hot tub was relaxing, and the waterfront backyard provided endless hours of fishing and crabbing to entertain our kids. In all, we caught 18 fish during the week and was a real highlight for our kids. They are just learning to fish and it was a great way for them to learn. We used the kayaks and paddleboard a few times as well. So much fun. The house itself was also very nice, clean, and extremely spacious. The kitchen was fully loaded with everything we could need. The host provided great communication before and during our stay. We will be back, thank you.

Well equipped. Lots of outdoor equipment and indoor games. Weather was very cool, windy and rainy, not “beach” weather but we managed to take advantage of any breaks. Enjoyed our stay!

House was very nice and clean. And we loved the outside with the pool and hot tub. The pool was a little too cold to enjoy but I think that is because it just cold weather while we were there. The only thing I did not like is that one of the bedrooms is at the main entrance of the house. Really not useable as you would have no privacy

Storm affected trip with young kids. They loved playing in the downstairs den and fishing off the back yard despite the wind and rain! Great evenings spent in front of the fire watching movies!

The host was responsive and and kind. The property was outstanding and viewed as listed! The sunsets viewed on kayaks and relaxing in the hot tub was a favorite. The overall home and property was welcoming and accommodating. We were blessed.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the house. It was in the perfect location. It was well equipped with everything you would need. The pool was great. Luckily we had great weather too. The sectional in the living room was soooo comfortable and so was the bed. We will be back next year!!

Fabulous vacation with friends exploring the Outerbanks. House was equipped with everything you could need. Plenty of space and in a fantastic location. The pool provided welcoming relaxation and the kayaks and crabpots were an added bonus. We had so much fun with both. Communication with homeowner was fantastic; quick to respond, super kind and very help. Highly recommend and hope to come back.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful canal property! It was so relaxing which was exactly what we needed. Everything was perfect and Meshell was so cooperative and easy to contact when we had questions. Check in and check out were a breeze. We took advantage of all the amenities Nags Head and the home provided. Would and will definitely go back again. Looking forward to next year. Thank you so much.

We absolutely loved staying here! We had 5 adults, 2 8-year olds and a 3-year old and felt we had plenty of space. The kitchen was nice and spacious, the living room sectional was large, the backyard had lots of space to run around, etc. We absolutely LOVED having a heated saltwater pool which we used daily. We loved kayaking and using the crab pots right off the pier as well as fishing (we brought our own rods.) We even caught some large enough fish and a handful of crabs that we cooked up and ate! The keyless entry was a breeze to use (though locking the storm doors was not easy!) Every single mattress was amazing. I've never slept that well on any mattress on vacation (hotel or rented home.) It was so nice to see that all the beds had excellent mattresses and not just the main bedroom. The location was beautiful and the recommendation of Jeanette's Pier for the beach was perfect because they had close bathrooms which is a must with little kids! The outside table and chairs fit all 8 of us and we were lucky enough with the weather that we could eat out there for every meal. Each bedroom was spacious and comfortable with plenty of closets and dresser space - with the exception of the basement bedroom that didn't have a closet. However, there was a full bathroom down there which was great. We were very close to so many restaurants and activities - went mini-golfing twice, did carry-out meals twice, and ate a restaurant twice and none of them disappointed. We also visited the Wright Brothers memorial which was great. Lots of stuff to do, but tucked away enough that the neighborhood felt secluded and quiet. The only real downside was not having a dining room table indoors. We love to sit around the table all together and play games (and it was frequently too windy out on the deck) so that would have been nice. Lastly, the few minor things I mentioned to the host, they addressed quickly and were very communicative. We understand that when renting a home, things can pop up and an attentive host is what makes the difference! We would absolutely rent this home again. We are so thankful for this vacation and the host! Thanks again!

We love old nags head cove and have been staying in this area for 3 years. The house was well appointed with everything you could possibly need for a week stay at the beach. The kitchen had everything you could dream. The bed rooms were comfortable for everyone. We will be back!

We spent an August week learning all about OBX and all it has to offer. It was our first time here and we fell in love with OBX. Our accommodations were superb, entertaining and we were able to relax and enjoy each other in this beautiful home. The home provided ample space for our family. The pool, the access to the sound and the provided Kayaks and paddle board were an added bonus. We highly recommend staying here and look forward to returning

What a lovely home with incredible views! We were in town for our son's wedding. With all the hustle & bustle of wedding events, it was so relaxing to sit on the balcony enjoying the beautiful canals running thru the neighborhood while drinking coffee and watching all the birds. And great fun to kayak out into the sound! We would love to return to this restful spot!

The property was the perfect layout for family & friends. Well stocked kitchen and activity accessories for outdoors. We will be back!

Another great weekend in a great house. We’ve stayed here 3 times now and plan to book again. Owner is quick to respond and very accommodating. The house is clean and fits us perfectly.

Came here for a girls weekend and the space could not have been more perfect. Everyone got their own room and the kitchen-living room provided a great space for hanging out. Because of winter and COVID we basically relaxed here our entire stay and did takeout from local restaurants. The property also has a nice basement space where families with kids could use to hang out. Would stay here again!

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this property and we love it! It’s perfect for our little family, it has everything we need. The location is great. We’re already planning our next stay!

Beautiful house, great location, great host. Our family has been coming to OBX for Thanksgiving for 6 years and this was definitely one our favorite locations. Would love to visit in the summer to make use of all the house has to offer. Highly recommended.

The owner and property manager were very understanding, caring and helpful. The house is in a quiet neighborhood close to everything and had many amenities. The additional living room in the basement gave adults and kids the chance to spread out and chill.

Great location! House was clean and everything was working. Heated pool in Oct was definitely a bonus!
