It was perfect!

Fantastic view. Nice swimming pool. Spacious bathroom. No air conditioning but nice cool breeze with the windows open. Tahiti in April is not hot at all. Friendly hostess, listen to her suggestion for the Restraunt, you won’t regret😀.

Mike and Severines place is idyllic! The views are incredible, room is beautifully furnished and amenities were very nice. They were very friendly and hospitable, providing several recommendations. There is a nice amount of privacy as well. A car to get up The mountain is needed but the views are worth it and there are some good restaurants and bakery just 10 minutes away.

Mike’s place was our first taste of Tahiti and it was a perfect introduction to the beautiful island. Not only was Mike incredibly hospitable (stocking the room with fresh fruits, juice, water, letting us use pool toys, etc.), but he also shared his knowledge of the island’s history and culture which made our trip even more exciting. The place itself is incredibly beautiful with unmatched views and a luxurious pool, and still quite close to the main city. The room is very clean and thoughtfully designed with native flowers in the room, maps and books available for your exploration, a mini-fridge and microwave for your use, a wonderful fan to help cool you down when needed, and more. Perhaps our favorite part of the room, though, was the brilliantly designed bathroom, which is very clean, modern and newly updated. We think it’s important to have a bathroom that you feel comfortable in, especially when traveling, and the bathroom space Mike built is top-notch. There’s even a private patio that you access from the bathroom. If you’re traveling to Tahiti, do yourself a favor and stay at Mike’s house. Sit out on the patio in the mornings and enjoy the sunrise over the ocean, take a swim in Mike’s natural saltwater pool, feel like you’re at home while playing with his dogs (the little pup Caramel is adorable), and start your island adventures from the convenient location of Mike’s listing. We stayed at 4 very different places during our time in French Polynesia, including Mike’s house, a treehouse bungalow in a tropical forest, a large resort with over-the-water bungalows, and a smaller resort in the mountains. Of all of these very different places, Mike’s place was by far our favorite because it felt like home and felt like we were living in Tahiti, not just visiting for a few days.
