The property is exceptional. A beautifully renovated castle where you feel like a welcome guest invited by some noble family. A grand historic place with all modern comforts. At the same time personal, warm and cosy like home. Well, we loved the place. Our suite was spectacular (Principe Suite). Bathroom and shower from a fairy tale. Big and beautiful terrace. Painted ceilings like in a museum. All clean and newly restored. Ample common areas, luxurious gardens, etc. Cant describe it all. It was a truly royal experience in a romantic castle. Great breakfast and service too. We could explore the area between Urbino and Gradara Castle, also Fano. All easily reachable by car. This property is a jewel not to be missed. We would come back any time (maybe when it is a little warmer to enjoy also their swimming pool which is beautiful).

An amazing property! The facilities, pool and grounds are exceptional, and the views over the sweeping valley and fields, with the ocean in the distance, simply stunning! We fell in love with the property, and the area, as soon as we arrived. Photos don't do it justice. Our self-contained apartment was very clean and comfortable, and we had everything we needed. Fantastic breakfast in the beautiful breakfast room of the castle, which has been beautifully restored, and was a delight to wander around and spend time in. The option to have an aperitivo and/or dinner at the bar/restaurant was great, as well light lunch options and drinks around the pool, with the prices being extremely reasonable. The staff were warm and very friendly, and it is lovely that the owner is so welcoming and takes the time to speak with, and get to know guests. I highly recommend this wonderful property, and we hope to stay again in the future.

Excellent hotel on the top of a hill. Beautiful views up to the sea. Excellent services and very good breakfast with lots of choice. The hotel staff can help you choose a suitable restaurant for dinner. Perfect location to explore the region. Parking available within the compound.

The Castel is a beautiful and magical place. All the staff and the host Orlando are extremely friendly and helpful. The ambience, the equipment and the quality are exceptionally high and luxurious. Castello di Monterado is definitely the best place to stay in the region. You feel at home among friends.

There is absolutely nothing to complain about. Beautiful and from outstanding quality. For me, the Castello is much more than a five-star luxury hotel.

Stunning property and location. Walking round the castle was like stepping back in time, so well preserved, with original artefacts. Amazing views, particularly from the breakfast terrace, and beautiful gardens and pool area. Excellent value for money too! One of very few places we’ve stayed that I definitely hope to return to in the future.

The property was extremely clean, beautiful, secluded and the view was phenomenal. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming to the guest. Perfect place to stay to relax for a few days. I will recommend the suites for a very romantic experience.

Apartment (large size) in the front of the castle, . The breakfast in the castle, a choice of scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, fried eggs, good cold cuts, good cheeses, lots of cakes and sweet food. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to use the swimming pool. A nice view from the terrace - the Adriatic Sea in the distance. Castle on the top of the mountain, very small town, free parking space in the front of the apartment, well-kept castle garden. Very nice and helpful owner of the castle - Mr. Orlando and very nice and full of smile castle staff.

The apartment was little too cold but we had access to temperature regulator and we were able to increase the heat. We didn't need the microwave but I was surprised that it weren't in the kitchen ;)

Words cannot describe how lucky we found ourselves being able to share this historic castle with the lovely owner and manager Orlando. The frescoed ceilings in the bedroom were simply wonderful. The staff were extremely helpful and recommended some amazing restaurants at all levels.

Charming place. Great location for travelers by car, at close driving distance to the sea and tourist spots and still away from its crowds. Ideal for independent travelers and couples. Personal welcome by the owner. Very good breakfast with excellent service! Modern elevator to upper floors. Huge sized castle rooms with modern comfort. We were allowed to park our car inside the garden of the castle and received a remote gate opener to enter the premises. Which felt like being the king of the castle. For larger parties there is also a car park outside the castle.

There is wifi throughout the premises, also in the garden. But inside our room (corner room - "hat" theme) the wifi performance was unstable at times.

Our apartment was adjoining the property but had all the same access priveleges. Its a magical property and Orlando and his wife are wonderful, hard working hosts. I hight and I mean Highly recommend this property if you can get it at an affordable off-season rate. I suspect its not easy to get but we feel lucky and spoiled to have stayed there. Thank you Orlando and staff for making our stay memorable.

They were working on the water system and digging fairly early the next morning. It was noisy I will admit.L

We had a wonderful stay here in September 2021 as a family. The apartment offers everything your heart desires, nothing was missing. The equipment is extremely good and of high quality. The apartment was clean, quiet, modern, covenient, rooms were sufficiently spacious and comfortable. Nice Pool area. The service was excellent from the staff.

So well organized and Susy a pretty location. The room was absolutely beautiful, big bed, big room, super bathroom. Super view, the pool is fantastic. There is excellent communication there to make our stay as comfy as possible. Bringing the dog was no problem, they were again very accommodating.
