We were a couple who stayed during winter for 9 nights all up in two different rooms. We found the beds and pillows were super comfortable, even better than the ones we have at home! The rooms were always warm, even in the bathroom. In the bathroom ...the hot water always came quickly when we turned on the taps, the towels were warm near the heaters, I had sufficient space for all my toiletries, and the shower had good pressure every time. The entire room itself was more spacious than it looked in the photos. The decor was tasteful and furniture in good condition. Our two large suitcases and two carry-on wheelly bags all fitted within the room. I put my large suitcase under the bed and easily pulled it in and out whenever needed. The hanging clothes rack was over a heater so our jackets and clothes were always warm and dried off. The TV was a great large size and worked well. We appreciated having coffee/tea making facilities. We were also provided with a bottle of still and a bottle of sparkling water gratis each day the staff saw that the previous bottles were empty which was lovely. The food was amazing! The breakfasts were perfectly cooked every time. They also catered for gluten free which I was grateful for. The meals we had there were fresh, great quality and really tasty. The wine we had was superb quality. Great selection of gins too. The old English style decor in the restaurant and bar was warm and cosy and the staff were friendly and super hepful. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk to Stansted Mountfitchet train station with helpful staff . It took us 1.5hrs to get into the heart of London which was fine for us. From memory, it cost us about 25 pounds for a taxi to Stansted Airport (about 10-15 min drive). There are plenty of restaurants, pubs and cafes in walking distance. There are pharmacies and mini supermarkets close by also. To the staff of the Linden Hotel ... thank you for making our stay really comfortable and amazing!

We felt the alcohol prices could have been a little less because we wanted to patronise the bar at the hotel more but found that we could drink with better prices elsewhere. Having said that, we did have a fantastic and memorable pinot noir with our dinner at the Linden Hotel! So it appears their wine list is really top notch. Another thing to consider .... One of the rooms had a step down then step up into the bathroom which probably could have been made to stand out a bit more visually or better still to have it filled in because we did get concerned that at night when walking to the bathroom half asleep it might be a trip hazard. But otherwise the room was lovely and very comfortable!

At this time of year (November 2023), the dining room and bar on Sundays close very early, i.e., at approximately 6:30 pm.

Breakfast was lovely we had the Smoked salmon on muffin, very delicious'. and server and chef were very friendly.

Traffic, we are just not used to it, we live in a quiet area. Never mind. that cant be helped. I couldnt use the shower, I was scared to get scalded and there was no instructions for it, as I could not move the lever. As only there for one night, it didnt matter,

The bed was really comfortable and the open bathroom luxurious. The staff were great.

Normally I just have to lie on my good ear to block out most noise but the road noise still got through, I was at the front of the property though so maybe it’s quieter at the back. Also unexpectedly the kitchen was closed on a Monday evening, I’d read it was closed on Monday and Tuesday lunchtime, but the staff recommended a great place a short walk away.

Breakfast was exceptional Staff so friendly and fun, . Made great cocktails. Lovely atmosphere and great having the restaurant and bar attached to the rooms. Didn’t even know if anyone else was staying there it was so quiet and it was fully booked!
