Great location if you are driving as it is away from the city but still only a 10 minute drive. Such a beautiful place and garden with an amazing view and a lovely indoor salt water pool. The owners are super lovely and are there if you need them but they leave you to it which we really liked. Parking spaces available and lovely local restaurants that do amazing drinks and food. We stayed at the bungalow and it was so lovely with a little balcony in the top area. Breakfast was simple but nice enough.

Only 1 thing that wasn't expected, and this is not a reflection on the hosts and perhaps cannot be helped. As this is a country house, every morning and every night we found countless centipedes, millipedes, massive spiders and cockroaches. I know it is difficult to help this, but perhaps it would be useful to seal the walls properly or regularly check to see where they come in from as the rooms are abit old (but very authentic). It wasn't a massive issue but to wake up everyday to different bugs on the bed and floor got abit much after the 3rd night. As I said, this is not a reflection on the hosts or overall stay, but this might be useful for some to know.

The accommodation was up a very steep hill which was ok for us but not for anyone elderly or unfit

Kind and helpful hosts, great room, had breakfast with amazing views from the terrace every morning. Very good restaurant just up the street.

It was a real pleasure to stay and relax at the house and garden of Vila Alfonso. Perfect as a basecamp to explore the whole island. A fresh morning swim and a delicious breakfast, a powerful start of the day. Great hospitality!

A charming small hotel in a beautiful quiet location. Surrounded by banana groves, vineyards and a lovely garden with fabulous views out to sea.Very kind hosts and delicious breakfast!
