With a little bit more attention and not much cost, the boys who run this place could really take this hostel to an amazing level. Beds are comfortable, each with a fan and power. Great location and there were a great group of guests when I stayed there. Pool table is a bonus!

I’ve really enjoyed my stay at Castello Santa Ana! The staff was very friendly and helpful and was doing everything to make me stay there even better! Dorms were very comfortable and the location was perfect!

Wel located. Clean room and acceptable toilette cleanliness. Cheapest option. Staff supportive when they were present. Very empty place and for that it was like to be in a house. Only 6 customers in the whole hostel cause it was low season. Terrace very calm.

No staff from 9pm to 11am to solve questions ,problems, change the water bottler when finish, etc.. Only two toilets/showers for about 30 beds. The building needs some works. It's beside a karaoke bar that made noise untill 2am.

The building itself was very unique. It set the tone for the relaxed nature of the hostel. The employees were great. They were super helpful and even referred us to different guides in the area.

The bathrooms should be updated as they were broken.

Bathrooms (two for the whole hostel) very dirty and unkept. Dirty sink, shower, floor, loo. Bedding felt dirty and walls had excrement on. Doors didn’t lock.

The people who are working there are soo nice, the location is perfect and it is spacious

The matresses are a little bit too soft, but it was alright.

Gustavo was the loveliest and made it a very comfortable stay. There were fans in the rooms. Perfect location in the city centre!

The location was great, right by the lively street market and a couple of minutes walking from the main square (theatre, cathedral, city hall, casino, etc.). The staff was great and there was a guitar on hand too! Just ask the staff about it.

Rooms are alright

The hosts where giving a terribly loud techno party till late (over 2:30 a.m.). I needed my earplugs in the dorm first of all to protect my ears from hearing impearment (I really did). Moreover, the bathroom wasn't clean and could definitely get an upgrade (see pictures).

The owners running this place were lovely. They were so friendly and took us for a day trip to the hot springs which was really fun. Because the hostel is small, there was a friendly and social atmosphere - very relaxing. The hostel is a couple of blocks from the main square, walking distance from the bus station and despite having no kitchen, they did have a fridge which meant you could still make basic sandwiches etc. and keep your drinks cold.

Mosquitoes were a huge issue for us. This was surprising considering we were in the city but despite sprays and closing doors the place were swarming with them and we were attacked all night long and have bites everywhere. The bathrooms often had no toilet paper and there was no handle on one of the bathroom doors. The place next door played such loud music really late into the night but this was easily fixed with ear plugs. At the start of our stay there was free water but then the tank was taken away and we had to buy it. Security was a slight concern for us. They have small lockers however they are not secured to anything and could easily be picked up. Next to the rooms is a tattoo shop so outside people are lingering around the hostel social spaces right outside the rooms. With no way to lock the rooms and strangers in and around we were concerned. There was no key system and just a door bell to ring for access to the property. As there was not 24/7 reception, you would hear the door bell ring in the early morning and it would be expected that a guest would answer the door or the person wouldn’t get in.

The hostel is in a great location in Santa Ana and there are two goats which is a unique experience. The people who were working at the hostel were very nice and informative about where we can go and what transportation we need to get to get to other areas in El Salvador.

The bathrooms were some of the dirtiest bathrooms I have come across and one of them did not lock. They also had cockroaches in them! I was bitten 70+ times overnight (suspected bed bugs). Thankfully had only paid for one night because I couldn't have stayed another.

Owner Gustavo is a true gentleman. Very kind. Helpful. Intelligent.

the beds where uncomfortable the bathroom was disgusting- you could not even close the door people who went out couldn’t get in after 10 pm the guys who worked there were quite unfriendly and not really helpful they made coffee with always the same powder

Location, price and people. Building is cute too.

Bed was really uncomfortable and there were a lot of mosquitos. Only 2 bathrooms, and the other bathroom's lock didn't work.
