It was the worst stay I have ever had in my life, and I have been renting rooms for over 20years. It was a foul order in my room, and I was unable to breath. I couldn't wait until morning because the heater was broken, and cold air was coming in where the heater wasn't fitting properly inside the wall. I could see outside behind the heating system. I became very sick because of the cold.

Worst experience ever, me & my family were there only 20mins. It’s a very sketchy place, if you want to possibly get robbed go here. They refused to refund me & Hotels.com didn’t help either.

Very misleading advertising and photos! We booked a room for 4 adults and a teenager. The room boasted of “sleeps 5”, ocean view, and daily breakfast provided.
The hotel is 10 minutes from the beach-no ocean views! When we got there they told me they had two rooms for us to choose from: one with a missing bathroom door, or one with a broken key card reader which they would have to open the room for us any time we wanted to re-enter the room. The pool was only open 7am to 7pm and a manager had to let you into the pool. We didn’t even see a pool! We asked where we would go to get breakfast in the morning and were told “you buy snacks from the vending machines and you can warm them up in your room’s microwave”
When we got into the room (we chose the one with broken key card lock) we tried to double bolt the room from inside but the bolt lock WAS FORCIBLY REMOVED! We also noticed that our “sleeps 5” accommodations was a lie. There were only two queen beds and ONE chair. We went back to the desk and were told “we’re out of roll-in beds. Come ask us tomorrow”. I had to show them my reservation promised an extra bed and I was not letting my son sleep on the floor! I then stated if they can’t provide an extra bed then they had better have an extra room for free to accommodate us! They came to our room later and brought in the roll-in bed. The bathroom only had three towels! And the ceiling was noticeably poorly repaired. The bed frames were missing bolts and falling apart!

I did not appreciate having to pull out my wallet outside of the office because the clerk wouldn't open the office door and let me in. She refused to open the door and told me, "that is your problem not mine." Ironically the Costa Mesa PD was on the property escorting someone off the property so be careful and I would not recommend bringing your family or female companion here at all.

The staff are courteous and helpful but the room is really bad, molds in the bathroom and the bed sheets smells bad. I did'nt complain anymore, there is no point, I'm sorry but I will not go back there anymore.

The check in was easy. Room was clean and comfortable. 10 mins from the beach. I would stay again.

This place is terible. Dead cockroach on windowsill. Hole in wall. Filthy room, feet were black after walking on the floor. Exposed wire in the room. The pool was closed with green water. We changed to a different hotel for the second night of our two night stay. When checking out early the clerk blurted out "you're not getting your money back".

It’s a run down motel. There’s hair everywhere, cockroaches and ants everywhere, the bathroom vent has never been clean, there was a homeless guys rummaging in the dumpster smoking something illegal. An overall shady and uncomfortable experience.

Checked in to find cockroaches in the room. When I told the front desk they literally took the key out of my hand. She went to a back room and I had to track her down to get my luggage out of the room!

The ac did not work and there was a hole in the wall next to it with daylight coming through. So at night I wasnt sure if someone was peeking through because it was dark at that point. Staff at check-in was nice. Bad furniture, but it was cheaper in cost than the rest.

There were poorly patched holes in the wall behind the door , no doorknob on the bathroom door, water on the bathroom floor and it stunk of stale cigarette smoke. It looked like a project for the maintenance crew . Certainly nothing you would ever rent out! We stayed just long enough to make a hotel reservation elsewhere. Never again here!

We were desperate for a place to stay that took cats because our house was being fumigated and we didn't want to put the cat in boarding. I knew it would be bad, but I didn't expect quite this bad. The place was filthy: every flat surface was sticky and dirty and we had to clean it ourselves before we could touch anything. We couldn't take our shoes off because the floor was so dirty. It smelt like cigarette smoke, probably due to the ashtray sitting right outside our door. And the topper was that as we were checking out and leaving, there was a drug deal happening in the parking lot.

To start the picture makes it look like it’s close to the beach, but it really isn’t any further or closer than any of the hotels downtown. I should have looked at the map; they shouldn’t have such a misleading photo as the primary photo for the property. The room smelled like cigarette smoke, the air conditioner didn’t fit the hole it was in, and it was hard to turn on, the microwave didn’t heat our food and we got messed with my people in the parking lot every time we went out, regardless of the time. When we pulled in to check in someone was getting arrested in the parking lot. Finally when my wife went to remagnetize our room key (for the 3rd time in one day) she was told that it was her fault and made to feel pretty bad about it.

Roaches everywhere, urine soaked bed, no fire alarm, random people knocking at our door, people working on their car in the parking lot at 2am, someone living in an RV next to the pool making it so my wife and daughter weren't even comfortable using it. The desk staff was polite but that was literally the only acceptable part of our stay. Left a night early and am trying to get a refund through Expedia for the final night that we did not stay.

It took us moving through 3 rooms over 2 nights to find an acceptable room. We arrived around 10 on Friday night to be shown a room that had holes the walls and doors. We asked to be moved so they gave us the room next door. At least it had no holes and a comfortable bed but the next morning we found the shower did not work. So at 9 am we went to asked to have a room with a shower. The desk clerk said come back later after housekeeping was able to clean rooms. We came back about 4 hours later and she said we had waited too long. After a long discussion and her realizing we were not going to go away until we were satisfied we showed us an acceptable room for our 2nd night stay. The sunset inn advertising said breakfast included but when I asked they said they have not done that for over a year. They allow dogs and there was dog poop all over the place. We will not be using this hotel again for future trips.

When my wife, son and I got to the property to check in, police were everywhere which turned out to be a dead body in a room. Our first room, the bathtub flooded as a shower was being taken and sewage came up, the toilet did not flush, holes in the walls and doors broken. We went to a second room after 20 minutes of being there and nothing better there so we checked out after maybe a 30 minute nightmare. The property refused to refund our full balance. What a hell-hole. Not recommended for anyone.
