Great host

We had a good stay. The room was nice, clean, comfortable, and well kept. The pool is outdoors and not heated. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great. The elevator had an odd hydraulics odor (which we were warned about). On balance, I would recommend the place.

Everything was as we expected. We try to stay at this particular hotel chain, because you truly do get what you pay for.

Older hotel with updates. Clean rooms, short toilets. Near Oak Mtn State Park. Mostly laborers staying with a few families, just like the other hotels in the area. Lots of dining choices, a few miles from Hoover/Rivergate area without the bloated room rates. K-cup compatible coffee makers in rooms. Beds were a little too firm for us. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice hot breakfast with changing menus.

The beds were like laying on plywood.

Comfortable beds pillows were great. front desk women was very friendly and courteous. She actually told me if there was anything I needed to let her know. Over all nice place to stay.

The property was nice, and my hat is off to the excellent staff members that part of this chain. Words are not in my vocabulary to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the kindness shown to me doing the celebration of my birthday . They were so accommodating to make sure no stones was left unturned to make our visit at this property should get the 5 stars and above reward. Keep up the good work.

I didn't like the smell at the elevator it was terrible

Stayed a second time while attending a concert at the nearby amphitheater. Everything was clean and functional; the only issues that may annoy people are the a/c units are quite loud in some rooms (I didn't have this problem on my previous stay; if management reads this, the noisy unit is in room 215) and the windows aren't soundproof, so you will hear I-65 at night as the highway is immediately next to the hotel (not a problem for me, but may be one for light sleepers). Overall, however, you can't beat the price if you reserve well in advance, and you can park at the hotel and walk a short distance to your concert without having to pay extra for parking. The free breakfast and new coffee machine in the lobby are also an excellent feature, and the staff was very welcoming at check-in. I absolutely will stay here again.

Easy and convenient to Pelham. Staff was friendly and helpful. Older hotel with few updates. Odor in elevator and 2nd floor. Room smelled like cigarette. Staff sprayed room but not helpful.

When I arrived I didn't notice anything that stood out bad or good. It was an average value priced hotel. When I got on the elevator I notice a strong musty smell. That smell continued when I walked down the 3rd floor hall. Getting into my room took a couple tries with the key but the room was cleanish. There were some stains on the blanket andmildew spots in the shower, but nothing major. The musty smell was only slightly there in the room so I sprayed some lysol. Left and came back and when I came back I couldn't get in the door with my key. Had to walk around the building and go in the front door while carrying heavy bags. They reset my key and I again had trouble when I went to go in my room. This issue continued every time I left and came back. I would do nothing different to get a green light with my key from when I would get a red. It was a HUGE hassle and I had to get my key reset several times. Someone in one of the rooms near me was extremely loud and screaming after 10 pm on my second night. Because of this we overslept some Sunday morning. I rushed downstairs and rounded the corner at 9:01 just to make us a waffle to eat for breakfast and they had already put the batter up. We were left without eating until lunch, so I was hangry. The bed was very hard and my entire body was sore Sunday evening.

Our stay was comfortable. Both Kathy and Leslie were very welcoming, courteous and helpful. Jessica did a great job keeping the breakfast bar supplied! It's evident that the facility is older but still a great place to stay. Given the opportunity, we would stay here again.😊

We stayed here for a concert we attended at the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre and this hotel was perfect… great rates, super nice staff (shout out to Sharon… she was so nice!) and we were able to walk to our show!

Loved it was walking distance to restaurants and concert venue

The lady who checked us in was helpful and nice but the elevator smelled like burnt hair and the room was in below average condition. Most disappointing was when I took my son to swim he never got past his waist because the chlorine smell was so strong. Breakfast was good and the room felt safe.

The room we stayed in had severe water damage from the bathroom, the carpet in front of it was soaking wet and there was a terrible wet and musky smell in the room it smelled like mold/mildew. We informed staff but couldn't be moved bc they were sold out. However upon checking out staff member stated they knew it was like that bc a prior guest flooded the room. There's no doubt it still has issues with the carpet being drenched! I find it unacceptable and dangerous to peoples health that they continue to rent this room, I personally am allergic to mold/ mildew and have been sick since our stay. Get it fixed or don't rent the room!!

If you’re looking for a place to stay for the night after attending a concert at Oak Mountain Amphitheater, this is the place! Affordable, clean, & a safe, short walk to the amphitheater entrance. From now on, if I plan on attending a show, I’m booking a room here! Can’t beat the convenience!

Awesome staff!

Nice rooms even though they have an older look. Good breakfast. Didn’t like the odd smell throughout the hotel including our room. Smelled like glue. Other than that, we were satisfied.

Don't stay in room123! It has the most awful smell! Smells wet and musky like mild and mildew. Upon arrival we told the front desk clerk tried to help, she sprayed febreeze to help but it only lasted so long. They were sold out and had no other rooms to move us to, which I get given the weekend we stayed, it wasn't her fault at all! When checking out I informed the other clerks about the smell and that the carpet by the bathroom was soaking wet, she told me a previous guest had flooded that room, so they were aware of the issue prior to our stay but still have guests staying in it. I'm allergic to mold and mildew and I've felt like crap since being in that room! This is not only dangerous but completely unacceptable! We have a reservation there for the next concert we're attending in a few weeks,but now we will probably be canceling and find another place to stay!

It was great. The only problem we had was the card reader on our door didn’t work. It took a couple days to get it repaired. The floor was not as clean as my wife thought it should be. The hostess Sharon went above and beyond to help us with the issue with the door lock.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of this property. It was well maintained and enjoyable.

Very good location

The halls and room smelled like a wet flip flop that a Rottweiler had been chewing on for a week and the cover for the air conditioner kept falling off, which actually quietened it down some, but breakfast bar was better than most.

Clean facilities, friendly staff. Reasonably priced.
