Nice waterfront views. The towels need to be changed on a regular basis, and the bathroom essentials like soap and shampoo need to be replaced every day.

Our time at Sunset Bungalows was fantastic. The staff are amazing, great chef and cocktails as well. Would highly recommend!

This is a nice accommodation in a rather calm environment. The rooms are spacious and each has a veranda, terrace or balcony towards the lagoon. The bathroom is totally fine and according to the standards in this area. I really liked the mosquito net surrounding the bed, way better than the standard ones hanging from the ceiling. Plenty of food options area available and the bar has limited drinks but reasonable enough. However, I found the prices a little bit high. There are only four parking spaces. The location allows easy access to the ring road around the island and therefore you’re just minutes away from the blue lagoon and nice beaches in the southeastern and eastern part.

The property is a little tired and just needs a little tlc but the staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for you. I would stay there again it was not unpleasant. Their cocktails are scrummy and the food was delicious

Very disappointed to arrive after travelling for 14 hours to be left waiting in the car park at 11:30pm while they worked out what to do. They gave us a room set for someone else, then just as we were starting to relax knocked on our door (around midnight) to insist they checked our paperwork again. Devastated that our simple requests had not been met we moved to another room the next morning which was fine. Sat down to the included breakfast the first morning and ordered a tropical fruit platter. I am still processing how underwhelming it was. It consisted of 4 (2 to 3 cm) pieces of banana still in the skin and 4 wedges of sour grapefruit. I figured maybe fruits were not easy to get, went to the market and bought a lovely selection very cheaply the next day, the owner is lousy and rude. The images make it look like it would be quiet but it is right on the main ring road around the island and there is pretty much constant traffic noise. The water pressure was pretty bad in the first room but okay in the one they moved us to. No wifi in the rooms but you could access it in the dining area. Bathrooms need repair and upkeep as does much of the resort. Tatty fabric on the 4 poster beds needed a good clean. Quite dark rooms, excellent quality doors and shutters to the balcony show the resort may have been high quality once. Easy to get buses to town and back.

Beautiful all around. Beautiful staff, amazing room & a view to die for. Everything we expected and even more. A very laid back lifestyle, just enough out of town that it is serene & quiet. A place for people who are in no rush & who are just looking to relax and enjoy everything. Amazing

Every room has an ocean view and all the rooms are to a high standard.

Comfortable beds and nice rooms. Spacious with private balcony overlooking the water. However the pool was unusable due to being right next to a busy road. Not relaxing at all. Food was average.

Sunset Bungalows is a wonderful place, beautiful clean large rooms with absolutely wonderful waterfront views and large super comfortable bed. The Pool is a fabulous swimming oasis. The staff are wonderful friendly and helpful. Small downside was limited Tv and a lot of car traffic can be heard but only from the pool. A standout at Sunset is the food which Joe prepared with absolute finesse. One word- Sensational! Fresh wonderful flavours, expertly plated. Best Food I have had in Vanuatu! Well done. 👍

Sunset bungalows exceeded our expectations! Firstly we were upgraded, and then when asking about checkout they confirmed our flight was in the afternoon and suggested we could stay until we needed to head to the airport - fantastic! The balcony is a beautiful place to hang out and the restaurant was lovely. The area isn't suggested if you want to be in the thick of town or a full-facility resort but it suited us perfectly.

The hotel is very clean. The staff at this hotel made our stay a very pleasant experience. They were always friendly with smiles on their faces.

If its your first time to Vanuatu you may want to find something in the centre. If you have traveled far to have a swim at the swimming pool or be on your phone with the complimentary wifi, then this is the hotel for you. otherwise there is nothing to do around Sunset Bungalows and you are obliged to eat at the hotel or adventure to the nearest restaurant that its not on a walking distance specifically during the evenings. The hotel is poorly managed, i had a particular experience after i booked more then 3 months prior to my arrival, only the day before when i wrote to the hotel to organize a transfer, they replied that they had no booking under my name and there weren't expecting anyone at the hotel, and their justification was that they had an issue with the system the day before terrible excuse for a 3 months hold booking. I was lucky there was only 1 room occupied in the entire hotel and we were the second room, and even after the hassle i didn't see any effort from the hotel to apologize... They insisted we took part in an activity they "offered" and it required 15 min car transfer to another location, when we returned us and another couple were forced to pay the transfer on spot in the middle of the night when no one told us we were supposed to pay and its was offered to us as if it was a complimentary service by the hotel, it was upsetting not because of the costs but the way the whole matter was approached.

I assume there are many, who due to the nice owners, friendly staff are not speaking their true mind. Read the poor ratings and average ratings for guidance on this place. What they said! There is no WIFI except in the so-called restaurant which is a small deck over the mosquito lagoon. There is no TV in the room except for 4 channels. If you arrive late like we did, around 7PM, you will find everything is closed by 9PM and you are sitting on this dock, in the dark, with a security guard (they lock the gates at 9PM and he is there to open them for you if you dare to go out after dark). You can then go to your room and watch either Australian news or Hogan's heroes (LOL). The buses are 30 year old Hyundai's that run you into so called town (dirty, filthy town and the body odor OMG). We moved out after we found a nicer hotel in town. We could not take the isolation, nothing to do in an old outdated complex. What kind of resort has no WIFI, TV and you cannot get a drink, eat do anything? It locks down, gates closed by 9PM with no way of even getting a bottle of water - which was not provided either. You are a prisoner. Food was below average too...just nothing good to say about the complex or Port Vila in general. Stay in Fiji, New Caledonia or just stay home. We have traveled all over Asia, south pacific this was the worse experience of our lives.

This was our second time at this resort. Both times was wonderful. The only thing I found displeasing was the pillows. They were old and lumpy and I needed to use two for my comfort. We had two rooms as my daughter came with us and I tried swapping them, but they were the same. They should be replaced every 2 years as many people would be using them. Other than that, the accommodation was wonderful. Not too far from the Port Vila town and easy to get to. A cultural experience is a must and the locals very pleased to assist.
