Great hosts and close to the royal mile by bus.

The place of accomodation was handy for everywhere with regular bus service. The service in gueat house was exceptional, accomodating requests, that some places wouldn't. Breakfast was lovely and there was loads of options for everyones taste and dietary needs. And the building was really nice and clean, only missing maybe a luggage rack in the room. I found it good that they were into recycling and being energy efficient, but the recycling of guests rubbish I found bit invasive. I would much rather separate my own rubbish, if there is a bin with 3-4 slots and one can separate ones own (done this in hotels before) and not having somebody go through ones waste afterwards.

I’ve stayed at Glenalmond twice and found a great welcome on both occasions. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and well equipped and the breakfasts perfectly cooked. The location is a half hour walk to the centre but Newington up the road has plenty of restaurants and shops. My first choice now for a visit to Edinburgh

Lovely B and B with helpful, friendly hosts. Great free parking and good breakfast. Slightly further walk than we thought to the centre of Edinburgh but lots of buses go in that direction.

We had a lovely day in Edinburgh followed by a great stay at The Glenalmond Guest House, lovely friendly helpful owners that obviously had very high hygiene standards and make a fantastic breakfast, we would definitely return and would recommend to our friends and family

We were just pitstopping in Edinburgh for the night, but I wish it was longer! Our stay was amazing, Fiona and Jimmy were just lovely hosts and were happy to help us with anything we needed. Breakfast was absolutely phenomenal too, traditional Scottish breakfast including haggis. Bedroom was so lovely, the bed was big and comfy and the TV was massive which was great because we wanted to watch the football in a covid safe environment! We will 100% be back!

The husband and wife who operate Glenalmond House were gracious and welcoming. Parking is right out front, which is convenient. We had a room that opened on to a patio, which was very pleasant. Breakfasts were great! It is twenty minute walk up to restaurants and book store and such, another twenty minutes across the downtown area. Or, they are right on the bus line. For $5 you can get an all day pass.

I had a very nice stay at Glenalmond House. The location is very close to the City Center with easy access to public transportation. The B&B was very nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and the food was very good with a nice UK breakfast selection. Jimmy and Fiona were very nice and gave me good advice on restaurants. I felt that this was a good value given the higher prices of hotels near where I wanted to stay. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.

After a nasty experience with an Air BnB this place was such a welcome relief. Perfect location, wonderful hosts and just an overall relaxing atmosphere.

But, room was ugly and dated and window completely overlooked by next-door. The shower was down right dangerous. A precarious balancing act to get something in between scalding and freezing. Had to be out by 10 am seemed a bit tight. Great house but the furnishings were wrong, dark and dated.
