Breakfast and staff service was amazing. Staff really know about the tourist attractions there and recommended more places than just Kilkenny castle. If it weren’t for them, wouldn’t have known about St Canice Cathedral. I even thought I might not have enough time to visit the cathedral and go to rock of cashel, which was my next stop and one of the staff members told me that I definitely had enough time and that Canice would take no more than 15-20 minutes. I’m glad I was able to fit in this attraction. The staff was also helpful with my bags and breakfast was awesome.

Terrific hotel right in the centre of Kilkenny. Wonderful front desk staff. Huge room and large bathroom. Furniture is a bit old and dated and a bit beaten up but room was clean and comfortable. Please lose the safety hangers. They’re a pain. Good breakfast too.

Lobby and common area is nice. Room was dated and AC did not work nor did the window open. People were courteous. Parking as a few blacks away and loading area difficult to get into. Probably would choose somewhere else next time.

Our recent stay at the Pembroke was our first but won't be the last. We stayed for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Nothing was too much for the staff who were EXTREMELY helpful. We arrived late (around 8 pm) and wanted to use the car park unfortunately it was full but they do have an overflow car park which is just a short walk from the hotel. The breakfast options (hot and cold) were great. The hotel is in the centre of town and very close to shops, restaurants, etc which is enormously helpful - I didn't need to use my car for 3 days because we were able to walk everywhere. On our final day there, we needed to leave the hotel very early on the Monday morning, and when we told the reception staff, they told us that they would ensure a breakfast would be available for us to take with us, and they did, including a coffee to go. This was very much appreciated. There was only one small downside and that was the Sunday lunch. There was roast on the menu that we were given but when we asked for it, we were told that it wasn't available. We very much enjoyed our few days there and would highly recommend the Pembroke Hotel.

We loved this hotel. Walkable to all that we wanted to see and do, staff were so welcoming and polite, and the free sit-down restaurant breakfast was excellent.

I had a wonderful stay here during my visit to Ireland. There were plenty of parking spaces for my rental car and the hotel room was comfortable and spotless. Ideal location for shopping, dinning and visiting the castle. Our breakfast was really good also. I would highly recommend this hotel.

There was building work going on. A lot of noise from the work. Would have been nice to be told about the work going on.

The hotel is conveniently located close to downtown and near the national park, the lobby and public spaces in the hotel were beautiful, and the pub conveniently located in the hotel was great. However it is very clear they put the majority of their money into renovating the public spaces of the hotel and not so much in the guest rooms. While the room was clean, the beds were very uncomfortable and the room was stuffy with no air conditioning. We expected more for the price.

Awesome stay right in the heart of Kilkenny! Walkable to everything you want to see! Front desk staff were super helpful with dinner and pub recommendations! Room nice and big. Plenty of room to stretch out! Parking is offsite about a block away but easily accessible. Great breakfast included (cook to order). Delicious and huge portions! Slept like a baby —bed was so comfortable! The only downside is the tub/shower is very high to step over into the tub. We were fine but if elderly or frail it would be a challenge.

One night stay in Kilkenny, and this hotel is both nicely placed and nicely equipped. The only thing I would do differently next time is to book direct for a better deal now that I know more about the place.

nice stop on our travels

The staff was wonderful, so helpful and friendly. The location is great and they supplied free parking close by. We got to the hotel very tired after long travels and the room was ready so they let us check in early. We would stay there again and highly recommend!

We were so warmly welcomed on arrival by the lovely Rachel! She really made our stay top notch. From the wonderful recommendations, thoughtful surprises in our room for our anniversary, to the ease of parking, check in, etc this hotel (specifically Rachel) were excellent. When we come back to Kilkenny we will definitely stay here!

The Pembroke is an excellent hotel that we have actually stayed at twice—once ~11 years ago and then the last few days. I remember really enjoying our stay the first time, and the second time did not disappoint. I did notice our rooms were showing some wear and tear that I do not remember seeing years ago. If the hotel invested in some bathroom updates and new carpet, it would match any upscale boutique hotel I've stayed in before. I would give it 4.5 stars!

A great way to experience Ireland through Kilkenny — the accommodations were clean and comfortable and it was located in a great spot allowing us to walk and explore the town. Vanessa at the front desk was helpful and pleasant and the staff at the restaurant were equally charming. Will return one day ….

Lovely clean and comfortable room. The girl on the desk in arrival was very friendly and welcoming and we had a lovely night.

From being received on arrival, to checking out at the end of our stay we were particularly impressed with how accommodating and attentive the staff were, including those that service the rooms. We were made to feel very welcome and all of our needs were met. The hotel is conveniently situated in the centre of Kilkenny with excellent options for both shopping and socialising - we will stay at the Pembroke Hotel again.

the Pembroke hotel in kilkenny is a great hotel for a short break in kilkenny,the rooms are cosy, the ambience and feel of the hotel from the staff to the facilities is great and for me as a solo traveller it ticked all the right boxes.
