The rooms were renovated and bright, the bed was comfy and conveniently located behind hotel where you could dine.

We had an update room wasn’t Happy with the first room the second room was excellent

My stay would have been great if i could have had a shower... I stood there for at least 2 or 3 mins waiting for the hot water to come up from down stairs..to no avail. Instead of renovating the poker machine room try renovating the bathrooms in the hotel... they look like they are out of the 1950's and bring the hot water cylinders up to the first floor so the paying customer can have a shower.. other than that it was good.

The property is basic, a bit outdated, and probably could do with some repairs and upgrading. However, it is a cheap and convenient option for short stay accommodation.

Reception closed, sign said to go to Bistro Bar. Bar staff had to go and find someone to check me in. They then tried to give me directions to return to the reception area where I had just come from. Trying to book a table for dinner on arrival, approx 5.30pm, we were told we could not have a table for 6 until 7pm. We were then told at just after 8pm, when we wanted to order dessert, that the kitchen was closed but she would go and talk to the chef. He agreed to prepare desserts for us. There were plenty of empty tables in the bistro all evening so we were at a loss as to why we had to wait until 7pm especially as we had children with us who tend to be accommodated earlier at bistros. We had 2 family rooms. 1 room had curtain hanging off at end and therefore wouldn't cover the window properly. We couldn't fix it. 2nd room centre light not working and 1 bedside light not working as a part missing. We were told on departing the missing part was on order. This made a dark and gloomy room. On the good side we had plenty of lovely towels, washers and 2 bath mats.

We walked into the motel to make a last minute booking for our family of four in Christmas peak season. The lady of the front desk was very helpful to get a room that would fit us, separate from the pub. The room itself was basic but clean and surprisingly quiet overnight, despite being so close to the pub. The motel is next to a park so that was handy for our kids to round around.

Clean enough. Car parks a bit ordinary and with the amount of hooning happening around and being right next the bottle shop and pub we were a little concerned the car would get broken into or stolen

We stayed in the Queen Motel room. (21/4) Everything inside was fresh, appeared new and was clean and comfortable. The Queen motel room looked exactly the same as the pictures on the website. Although it was quite warm when we were there, I imagine the room would be very warm in winter (electric blankets, heat pump and spare blankets). We had our dinner in the attached bistro, and it was really good. The staff were fantastic, although they were busy, they were friendly and smiling. The staff went above and beyond, when stupid me left my pillow behind. I received a phone call, and an offer was made (that I took up) to post the pillow (my own cost). Within in a week I received the pillow. They didn't have to do that, as it was all my fault, but they went out of their way, and I am very grateful. If we are in Smithton again, we would definitely stay here (I won't forget my pillow next time), and we would recommend staying here.

Clean, well maintained

Very friendly staff and was upgraded to a motel room at a reduced price upon arrival.

Good value, can't complain for the price. The staff were great and everything there that I needed but it felt a bit dated and not the most clean. I appreciated that I could get a single room to keep costs low.

Staff member accommodated our request to upgrade from economy twin bed room to a queen room with minimal fuss

Nicely refurbished room with comfortable bed and hot shower. Great to have cutlery and crockery, kettle, toaster, iron & ironing board. Very friendly staff member on check-in

Bathrooms need a bit of an upgrade, rooms are very small and don't have much room to move around. Comfortable for a short stay only.

Changed rooms at 10 oclock at night as we had a mouse running around under our bed, only to be put into another room which wasn't very clean..

was very clean and comfortable, a little noisy but this is to be expected but it did not go on all night. staff friendly and helpful
