Great stay

We loved the property - very welcoming and cozy. We really enjoyed staying in the cottage and having our own kitchen. Very close to the beach and the center of town.

Musty smell, dirty pillows and comforter, broken fridge that ruined our food, broken wifi, moldy shower

Lovely, quiet and highly central location to La Jolla city center. Ocean shore and abundant wildlife sitings one block away, easy walks to food, museums, and shops. Supermarket and drugstore on the main route in and out of town from this location.

Our family stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved it! We were in Whispering Pines, a small cottage suitable for a family of 3. It had a fully equipped kitchen, large bathroom and comfortable living space. I loved that the cottage had been renovated enough to meet our needs but still retained the old charm. The gardens and patios around each cottage are beautiful and so serene. It's a very short walk down to the beach and walkable to shops and restaurants too. There are 4 parking spots on-site but there's also free parking on the street. If we ever make it back to La Jolla, we will definitely stay here again.

Quaint little cottages steps from the beach... highly recommend if you're looking for something different.

Ovens and coffee makers didn't work. Had to return home on our second night (Thanksgiving) because of a lost key, and multiple phone calls to management (including to the emergency number) got no response. I did notice that several of the units had key pads for entry. Why not all of them?

Such a cozy yet roomy cottage. Location was perfect. Very convenient to beach, restaurants and shopping.

Did not provide key as repeatedly stated in communications. Did not get it until the next morning, so couldn't have both occupants leave the room. Person not manning office at 9 AM as posted or communicated.

Lovely spot for my son and his new wife to stay for their wedding reception weekend.

Cute unit. Quite comfortable for two couples. Walking distance to lots of restaurants, the beach and activities. Very reasonably priced.

The location was amazing, a short walk to the beach. The property has so much charm. However, cleanliness could be improved as the floor in the cottage was extremely dirty.

Beautiful heritage property. Quite unique. Garden and privacy.

We spent a wonderful week at the Ocean Ridge Cottage. We found it spacious, well equipped, quiet and conveniently located. We were able to walk to the various beaches and coves, and plenty of restaurants. We did not have to interact with staff very much, but when we did they were helpful. I highly recommend Redwood Hollow.

Pros: great location, nice outside space, Monday front office staff Jenna and Dedim were excellent Cons: Need to replace Beds and linens - they were terrible. Old lumpy beds with dingy looking sheets, no bath mat, no washcloths, no luggage racks, too many nic nacs

While the cottage I stayed in was a bit cozy, it was just me and it was more than enough. Has a full kitchen so allowed me to enjoy a simple “home made” breakfast and coffee. The area was really relaxing with small nooks to sit and enjoy the quiet and hear (though not able to see) the waves. Staff was super friendly. Looking forward to my next visit

The vibe is so unique - a private, throw-back setting in the middle of a sea of huge condo buildings! You feel like you are literally in a different world!

The Redwood Hollow Cottages are a true gem! Beautiful outdoor spaces and just a couple of blocks from the beach and a short walk to restaurants! The only complaint we had was that there was no curtain to cover the stained glass window at night time. We disliked the outdoor lights coming in at night and were awakened too early by the sunlight coming through the stained glass window in the room with the beds in our cottage (Whispering Sands).

Super peaceful, clean, and welcoming. Has its own charming character. Would definitely book again with Redwood Hollow Cottages! I would recommend this place for those seeking a relaxing and modest ambiance.

Preservation of 1915 heritage property. Parking was totally inadequate - no roon to turn around; 4 designated slots, one of which was impossible to exit from if another guest pulled in next to you.

Great location: just a block or two from the beach! We walked to the beach every day! The grounds were pretty/nicely landscaped with trees and foliage for privacy and beauty. Room was decent and had everything we needed. Only recommendation might be some curtains over the blinds for more privacy/less light. Staff were friendly and it felt peaceful.

Our cottage was not ready upon check in which was annoying. Property from 1915—so expect the cottages to be a bit funky, albeit charming. The bathroom needs attention: the shower head needs to be updated; our wall-mounted hair dryer did not work; and no toilet paper caddy. Parking is an issue.

Great location in La Jolla. Easy to walk to several places. Overall the property is clean, but the unit I had shows its age a bit (La Petite Port).

This was such a beautiful property and overall very positive stay! The room felt very private secluded despite there being neighbors and the area around was beautifully scenic. Despite the bed being a little hard for our taste the decor felt modern and incredibly clean. The neighborhood cat was a pleasant surprise that only added to the home-like feeling. It’s situated a couple blocks from town and not even five minutes walking from a beautiful beach, you have everything you’ll want or need. We weren’t able to use much in the kitchen but it was fully equipped with everything you’d need. The two younger staff members that checked us in were beyond sweet and helpful, all the paperwork and keys were ready and waiting for me to check in. Overall one of our most positive vacation experiences. We can’t wait to come back and stay at different cabins.
