The hotel and staff were outstanding. The food was delicious and the rooms were very spacious. The bathroom was very big. The outside is very busy but this is normal in the heart of the city.

No water 2 nights after returning from entertainment district and wanted to brush my teeth and shower before I went to bed.
Room is not sound proof I could hear the bells from the cathedral ringing every hour from 7:00 am - 12:00 pm on Sunday and Wednesday mornings. I could also hear the people in the next room and they could hear me because they were banging on the walls.
From the first day my key card to enter the room did not work properly I had to swipe it 5 - 10 before door would unlock. I asked front desk about fixing the problem but they said it was me so I asked them to come to my room and try and it did not work for them either. It was on the 10th day of my stay before someone came to fix the door.
They have a spa and fitness centre that are not open for use by guests.
The area is dangerous walking back late at night. After 2 issues with people trying to rob and hustle me I paid a armed security guy from the entertainment area to escort me back to the hotel and he would only take the pedestrian streets and main road. The door man at this hotel is even armed with a hand gun.
The room is a little worn and beat up.
I booked a room with queen size bed and got a room with 2 twin beds pushed together that kept separating while I slept.
There are better options for a stat in Santa marta.
I was not happy and left the hotel 4 days early and went to a better hotel.

The expectations were high but it wasn’t what I was expecting. The humidity in the room was really bad ( the smell), exposed electrical cables in the shower head in the bathroom. However the service was very good as well as the staff.

Was further away from tourist area… in the evening walking back from the beach ( which is not far) there is nothing open / felt unsafe. Should have stayed by the beach area.
Power went out. Didn’t bother to offer an explanation.

We had just 3 days at the Hotel Catedral Plaza and were SO disappointed to leave. The staff were all VERY friendly and accomodating. We were especially impressed with Gladys, a restaurant and bar server. Breakfast was impressive, with plenty of hot and cold choices - all included in the price. And what can I say about the pool? Absolute heaven - from places to sit to the amazing view!

All of the hotel staff have been very friendly, the change of the room was without discussions and the gave me a really nice room. Even though the hotel was not full, they provided a reasonable breakfast, again wit caretaking staff at its best. Just a lack of shadow at the roof top pool so staying there during daytime was dangerous for sunburns. And some noise from the contructions at the street below.

Good overall. I was given a small room which was not window facing as seen in photos. There were no towels when I checked in. The staff was helpful and helped me with what I needed. Located close to center, so dining options are plenty and nearby.

The hotel is very well situated in the middle of Santa Marta next a beautiful cathedral, walking distance to all action.
At the front desk we were welcomed from Lina Maria, she’s amazing very patient, helpful and spoke English. She answered all our questions with a smile, she’s great.
The room was nice, clean comfy exactly what we needed. The hotel had a roof top pool with a great view over looking the cathedral and amazing sunset. Breakfast was very good and change every day.
We were there for 3 nights.

The service, security were outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and very helpful. I will definitely stay here again, and I would recommend this hotel to others. The only thing that I did not like about the hotel is limited parking.

It was our luck to arrive and the elevator wasnt working and we were placed on the 5th floor. Ugh but they were working on it. Free breakfast was alright. Located on the 6th floor next to the pool area. It was your standard scrambled eggs, pancakes and a few other things. The elevator got fixed 2nd day and the hotel itself is located in a decent location. Walk a few blocks towards the water and you will find an area full of restaurants. A few more blocks and you are on the waterfront. We felt comfortable walking around after dinner.

Anytime either of us needed a number 2 we had to go to the elevator, to the 6th floor and use the public one. Also, paid a lot for the christmas dinner. Never had anyone ever bring me food at the “dinner”. To make things worse, i got a big drink bill at the end of the night, so i am still not certain what O actually got for the dinner fee
