I went to San Sebastián with my partner, sister and brother-in-law for a week’s vacation and to celebrate my birthday. The Pensión was amazing in terms of location - central to the beach and River and in the Old Town. In addition the Hotel was clean and Laura and Gita were very friendly and helpful.

I arrived to the hotel around 6:30pm on July 20th, I had reservations set at Martin Berasategui (a 3 Michelin star restaurant) so I planned to get ready right after checking in. However, due to plumbing issues the water was not draining fast enough and was leaking out of the shower and into the bathroom. I quickly turned off the shower to let the front desk know. The initial lady was able to grab towels and soak up the water (note: I was still not done showering) she told me to just shower again with out fixing the problem. I asked for a different room so that there will be no issues or possible water damaged she said they were fully booked. So I completed my shower and let the water flow out since she said it was okay. The reception desk later told me that it was a water pressure issue and that it is normal. I find their approach in handling the entire situation completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this place at all. There was not even an apology rather a bunch of excuses.

AVOID. OVERLY PRICED FOR LOCATION AND FACILITIES. RECEPTION AT ARRIVAL, POOR. WE MOVED OUT AS SOON AS WE SECURED ANOTHER HOTEL. RATHER LOSE PREPAID RESERVATION THAN STAY ON DAY LONGER.

Staff was very helpful and some spoke English, which made check in easier. Room was small but adequate however the bathroom was very large and had a great shower.

We had a great stay at the pension house. Rooms were well equipped and functioned great. Access to rooms was very easy and the staff was very friendly. The location is ideal for those seeking a truly authentic experience. One minor issue is that our room faced the plaza below and was very noisy at night. Nothing too serious to ruin the trip my any means but just something to be aware of if you want a quieter experience. Overall excellent stay and would book again

Excellent location and big rooms. Laura was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The rooms were cleaned everyday and it was done very nicely and quickly. There is plenty to do around the guest house. The main pinxto bars are only a few yards away and the promenade is a short walk. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit. The property is pet friendly as well.

This "Pension" is much more like a hostel with private rooms.
Great location, but, don't be fooled that this is more like a hotel, it's not. The rooms are clean, but very cheaply put together, All the rooms are near reception, and we could hear EVERYTHING happening there, so assume they could hear the same, so don't go expecting any privacy. The mattress was cheap and not great, but not awful. The building is a mix of commercial and residential with the Pension on the 2nd floor, there is a (very small) elevator, and public parking can be found a 5-8 min walk away. No real room to lock up luggage, but they'll take it and place it near the desk.
At the time this was a last-minute booking, it was massively overpriced for what it was, I should have probably booked a hotel in a slightly worse neighborhood instead.
If you think of it as a Hostel you'll go in with correct expectations.

Great location, very friendly staff. Room was very sparsely furnished with Ikea basics. One chair, one mini desk, a clothing rack with mini fridge and a firm-to-uncomfortable bed. There was hardly any area to set your things down in the bathroom and the towels were thin and small. Only shampoo was offered as toiletries- no bar soap/bath gel for the shower. There was no art in the room at all- white walls only. We could hear the check in desk conversations through the door, as they could likely hear us. One Nespresso coffee pod per person per day was issued to use in the communal kitchen area.

The Pension is in a great area, very close to everything. The place was very clean. Our main complaint was the bed, it was so hard we had a terrible three nights. This was our 4th hotel in Spain on this trip and all other beds were super comfortable. Maybe because everything is from IKEA???

Excellent stay, very comfortable and the apartment had all we need with a young child including a quality cot. Staff were very friendly and they arranged a baby sitter for us so we could go to a fancy restaurant. Would stay again

It was great to stay in pension bule! It located one block away from the main streets of old town and surprisingly quiet. We appreciate the staff’s hospitality! Free coffee and tea aéré also a plus. Will definitely stay here again.

Excellent location to access to Bar. Room was clean and comfortable. Hot water, water pressure of shower was very good. Staffs at the reception were very kind and a lot of hospitality. You can use coffee machine at all day free and soft drinks in the room mini bar were also free!

Have been to San Sebastian several times and the location of this hotel has been the best - right on the edge of Old Town and the rest of the city - fantastic. There are only 10-12 rooms so its a nice size, really nicely furnished, The complimentary drinks and coffee were a great and welcome touch. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The only slight negative was that when we first checked in the room did not appear to be cleaned very well - lots of hairs left from previous occupants all over the bathroom floor - but I have to say the room was cleaned well all the other days during out stay. Overall highly recommend!

Pensión Bule was a lovely, modern pension located right in the middle of the old town, perfect for enjoying all those great bars and restaurants. In front of the hotel was a quiet plaza, separated from the noise. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The facility was modern and comfy. The room was clean and bigger than I expected.

The Pension Bule is perfectly located on the edge of the old city, placing nearly all of the city’s attractions within a short walking distance. The multi-lingual staff is friendly and helpful, and the property is clean and well kept.
