WG Creole House 1850 was a lovely stay. They were incredibly accommodating when we arrived early and wanted to stow our luggage before we could check in so we could explore New Orleans! When we had some problems with our shower they were quick to help us and always communicating with us in a timely manner. The kitchen was well equipped with the microwave and coffee maker and I was able to make a quick breakfast in the microwave. I highly recommend staying here in the future for anyone coming to New Orleans!

Comfy little gem situated close to many of the attractions NOLA has to offer. Very clean, quiet, and easy to get in and out of. I would stay here again without hesitation. I have exactly 2 complaints: there were light bulbs that were on their way out and flickering in the room, and the mattress was so squishy, my arms would fall asleep from it caving in. Seemed it wasn't properly supported.
Overall, however, a great stay.

Great central location between French Quarters & GardenDistrict/Uptown! Close to the Streetcar pick ups and comfy and quiet. Right near the overpass but doesn’t feel like it in some ways.

It was an overnight stay before a cruise. Great location to get to port, and in the warehouse district. We are from Louisiana, and visit/stay in NOLA extensively, so we are accustomed to the different vibes of each district. The location of the hotel is in a safe area of the district, even though it does look a bit unkept. The hotel was immaculate, and a diamond in the rough.

Beautiful and comfortable home. Spacious and clean. Parking was freely and easily available on the street. Very quiet. Only downside was that it is on the other side of the highway from the Downtown area and is a little shabby - e.g. one evening I arrived back to find a homeless person sleeping on the doorstep!

We absolutely loved our stay at the creole house. The bed was so comfortable and the house is just stunning. Miss Melissa made us very welcome. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short as the storm was coming in on our second day. As Brits we are not savvy at navigating storms so decided to cut our trip short and re divert to Florida. My only negative was that the owner did not allow a refund for the remaining night which was a shame since surely it's better to get tourists out of the way in a storm to reduce the load on services if needed. All of our other Louisiana hotels recognised this and refunded us without question. They did offer a voucher but as someone who's not local it's unlikely we will get to use this within the near future.

The property was in a good location for getting into canal st using the street car. Just 5 mins walk gets you to the streetcar stop.
The property was very clean and very spacious and was excellent value for money

Check in was super easy. Thrilled to have free parking. The house was spotless. The thing that really caught my attention was the silence. I’ve stayed all over the city and this place was so quiet. Very comfortable.

I stay here at least once a year, it's very sage, quiet, and clean. The amount of space in your room will outmatch other comparable spots. Its about a 5 minute walk to the St. Charles streetcar. Take advantage of this opportunity!

Great House. The atmosphere is there, if you want to enjoy the New Orleans spirit. The rooms are large, comfortable, the decorations and furnitures are gorgeous. For the price this place is a pretty good deal. The owners made sure I had everything I needed which was nice.

This hotel is cheaper than the others surrounding this. While our stay was not terrible, we can see why there is a cost difference.
Pros: the hotel is in a historical property and the common areas are beautiful. The housekeeper was very nice and we were close to the activities we wanted to do in NOLA. Each room has a mini fridge. Kitchen has a microwave.
Cons: the surrounding area is dirty and very smelly. There was a large dumpster sitting outside of the hotel, likely related to ongoing construction in the area, but it smelled terrible and attracted flies. No designated parking, but we did not have issues with street parking (however, not sure if this would be a problem on weekends). Heard a lot of police cars at night. In our rooms, the curtains do not cover the windows fully so when the sun rises it becomes very bright in the room, and always woke me up. It would have been nice to have a little caring touch to welcome us, such as access to filtered water. That was not the case so we walked to a gas station to buy our own. The first night we arrived, the front door did not lock properly. The owners and employees of the hotel are not on site so it was a bit alarming to have the door unsecured given the area. But when we alerted the owner to the issue through text, they fixed it quickly.
So, it’s not like I would not recommend someone to stay here, but I probably wouldn’t again.

Thank you Melissa for your amazing vibe, for offering your beautiful house.
Heads up everyone, if you like dirtiness, this isn't your place. It's spotless!
4 min walk to one of the streetcars for the town centre. 10 min walk to the bus and train terminal.
Thank you Travis for your quick responses to my emails. Very proactive.

What a beautiful property. My room was on the first floor, and it had a private bathroom located right outside of my room. I love the fact that my room, as well as the private bathroom, both had codes and I didn't need to keep track of a key. I met the housekeeper, Melissa, and she was lovely. She had that southern charm and made me feel right at home. This was very convenient for me, as I was traveling around the country by train, and it is only a 10 minute walk to the train station. It is also a short 5 minute walk to the lovely St. Charles streetcar line.

We enjoyed our stay at the Creole House, after the noise of the conference that we were there for, it was just what we needed! One drawback was the pillows on the bed were too hard. I ended up with a stiff neck. The bed itself was great and comfortable, just the pillows need to be newer/softer/fluffier. Also, one more chair to lounge in would have been great.

It was the perfect stay. Being at home away from home describes it best. Melissa will take care of you.
We walked to lots of places from here, even after dark.
We definitely highly recommend this place.

Beautiful decor! Immacuately clean! 19th century charm! However, the best part, by far, was our hostess, Melissa. A genuine Southern Belle, she warmly greeted us and was available for local insight on where to go and how to get there. She had such a sweet spirit that it brought tears to my eyes when it was time to leave. I'll never stay anywhere else in New Orleans. She kept the parlor spotless and cozy, the perfect place to have coffee in the morning while we planned our day and read a book while my husband took a nap in the afternoon. The slow jazz that played on the antique-looking radio and the sparkling chandeliers were just the cherry on top!

this place was really wonderful. Beautiful old New Orleans style and decor. We had a small deck which was nice, but not much to look at. The interior was great. The only downside was that the neighborhood was iffy. Only a block away was a large homeless encampment. We didn't have any problem with it or with our car which was parked on the street, but it doesn't make you feel very comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It’s very unique and clean. The area around it was a little sketchy but that’s all of New Orleans.

A lovely historic home located one block off St. Charles Ave, it's no frills, and not a typical hotel or inn. Rather it's a guesthouse.
The room is spacious, the bath is home-like, down the hall. Bring a bathrobe to use for your private bath. For an extra fee, there are en suite, attached baths in some rooms.
Quiet at all times is insisted upon. The feeling is like you are the only one there.
Except for the unavoidable and constant hum of the I-10, expect a good night sleep here.
There seem to be security cameras, maybe mics too?
everywhere inside and outside, except the bedrooms and baths, I hope. The hostess, Melissa, is nearby and available when you call her.
All the doors open with a pass code. No keys.
Everything is neat as a pin; coffee and tea are always available with nice mugs in the kitchen. And the reception area seating is very attractive and inviting.
Free parking on the well lit street, in front is easily available and very convenient.
A great value for money, I say.

Great accommodation right next to downtown New Orleans. Contactless access where you get all codes conveniently in your email on the day of arrival. I had a room on the ground floor with a private bathroom, which is right next to the room across the hall and used only by you and no one else. The accommodation has a very homely and family feel to it and the owner Melissa managed to create a very welcoming and cosy atmosphere. Everything was clean, well maintained and smelled great :). What I especially appreciated were the common areas with a spacious kitchen where I could work on my laptop in peace and the vast majority of the time I was there alone and undisturbed by anyone.
If you run into the owner Melissa (Hi Melissa, Jiri from Prague, CZ here :-)), she is very communicative and helpful - she arranged for me to have food delivered from a very good restaurant nearby when it was a very rainy evening and Uber Eats had unavailable or overpriced deliveries and this restaurant was not available for the same reason.
I spent 4 nights in the accommodation and it was in early February when the Mardi Gras was already starting. Good advice - if you are interested in Mardi Gras, go to New Orleans primarily for that. If not, you'll enjoy the Mardi Gras parade one day, but the next you'll find it getting in the way of getting around the city and that was frustrating to the point of frustration for me - Mardi Gras was just everywhere and there was no way to avoid it :-).

We loved the location. Perfect for catching the Mardi Gras parades and within walking distance to several areas we wanted to visit. The room was clean and comfy. My only complain was that there was a draft in the room and after 2 nights we realized there was a leak in the window… which we fixed in our own by stuffing it with clothes until we left. There was also several good places to eat within walking distance. The house lady was super nice. I would stay here again.

Wonderful stay. Convenient walk to many places- right off parade route for Mardi Gras. Was able to park right out front. Melissa was so welcoming and helpful. Very very clean. We stayed in a room that had the bathroom down the hall but for the price especially during Mardi Gras it was not a big deal. Room is very spacious with plenty of closet space. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Communication and check in was easy. We were allowed to store our luggage when we got into town. You do hear some road noise but nothing a white noise app can’t fix.

This has quickly become my girlfriend and I’s favorite place to stay when we visit New Orleans. It’s a quiet and welcoming environment, located minutes away from almost any place you might want to visit in the city, but just tucked away enough that you don’t have to deal with the hustle and bustle, if you don’t want to.
I always look forward to the next stay here and always a little sad to leave.

It's a house, ruled over by a formidable but friendly hostess. Heed her rules and you;ll do fine. WiFi in rooms poor but in the kitchen it was fine.

The door was locked. The doorbell brought no one to the door. This was at 5pm, a normal checkin time. After fifteen minutes of ringing the doorbell and knocking on the door and window, I gave up and went to find other accommodation.

Very great location for those looking to explore New Orleans for a short time. Much more affordable than large hotels, and in a convenient location just 2 blocks away from the streetcar and buses (for which you can purchase cheap tickets or passes). Melissa was great and gave us an introduction of all the best things to do in the area. The bed was comfortable and the private bathroom has all that we needed. Of course, given that this isn’t an hotel, there weren’t too many amenities, but you get what you pay for. Overall great place for the price!

This is a great place to stay if you are staying in NOLA for a short time. Very charming house with friendly staff and nice rooms. The area is a bit rough but for the price it’s a good value. Would stay again absolutely
