Was overall ok, probably could be cleaned better but not the worst I’ve seen… not much to do in the area for kids other than the beach…

Ice maker for the property was broken, but the staff worked hard to fix it. Decent room, nice bed, lackluster breakfast buffet. All in all not a bad deal.

The hotel was great except for the screaming kids all day and night, but that’s typical at the beach.

It was safe and quiet and what I needed. The beach looked nice; I didn't use it because I went elsewhere, but it looked nice.

Very nice choice for place to stay in this area. The beach access is great. Rooms have had some recent updates and comfortable beds. The staff was very friendly! I’d stay again when traveling around Oscoda.

We loved this gem on Lake Huron! The beach is beautiful and expansive! Dogs are allowed on the beach too! We stayed in a Jetted tub room as was clean and the tub was huge! Fit two people with ease. We will be back next year to stay for sure

Excellent location right on the beach nice Sandy beach no rocks. Facility was dated my room had a strange smell so I opened the window for a while. Breakfast was continental they had boiled eggs, pancakes, cereal, pastries, and juice. I did not see any fruit.

Wonderful loving and accommodative staff.

Staff very friendly and helpful. The problem I had was my door keys kept not working and the lock on door was not working properly hard to close everytime I left room and when I came back from leaving one day door wasn’t completely shut from cleaning staff.

Beautiful beach! Picnic tables and fire pits around the beach area.

Like the fact the hotel is right on the beach ! Had a great time !

The staff here was very friendly and prompt. Rooms were very clean although dated. The door jam to the room was wonky and it was difficult to shut the door all the way without slamming the door. Our key had to be reset almost after every use. Thankfully the staff was able to fix quickly each time, just inconvenient. The beach is beautiful and clean.

I really liked it being right on the beach. Rooms were clean. Nice breakfast. Love that they are dog friendly, although there were alot of barking dogs that were left in rooms. But over all for the price and on the beach we will return.

I rented because the room stated it would fit 4 adults & 1 oversize 14 year old boy comfortablly. Not by a long shot. The room had 2 full size beds & a chair with a footstool. They had no additional rooms available & it was the week of July 4 so we were stuck. No one else had availabilities nearby. My middle son very kindly took the chair & slept sitting up. The room stunk VERY STRONGLY of cigarette smoke, although they claim to be 100% smoke free. Hallways reeked of marijuana. The coffee pods didnt fit the tiny 1-cup coffee maker. The fan in the bathroom squealed like a stuck pig & the kid upstairs was making so much noise it made it hard to sleep. The breakfast was fairly good. We did love the pancakes but they ran out of mix. The breakfast bar was limited & haf very little coffee available but better than a donut on the doorknob. Place was run down, dirty (found a dead bug in my bed), smelled horrible, fan didnt work & owner only offered a small discount.

I almost canceled this room after reading the reviews, but decided to stick with it - a last minute getaway for me and my husband, it was a great location and affordable. First of all, folks need to keep in mind that Oscoda was devastated after the AFB shut down. Tourism dropped, the charm has faded. I grew up visiting friends and family in Oscoda, so I knew it as in its glory days. The drop in tourism affects the funds to care for properties. That said, I'm GLAD I stuck with my reservation. While the hotel is a bit outdated and could use a nice make-over, the staff is amazing at taking care of it, as well as their guests. The location is incredible - one person on here complained that it's "not on the lake". I assure you, it is. There is a grassy area that you must pass through, but in no way does it hinder a walk to the lake. The sand is the powdery white sand I remember so well. The room was comfortable, the shower was great! Great pressure, clean water. They don't offer great toiletries, so since you're probably driving, I'd advise dear reader... bring your own. We travel a LOT. We stay in beautiful places in Vegas, Hawaii, Caribbean... This can't compare to those, but considering what I've mentioned above, we can't wait to go back with our friends. We enjoyed it very much.

Everything was good except for one thing. I was told by booking agent that the hot tub/spa in the pool area was working. It was not working while I was there. I did enjoy the pool. Great little pancake machine on the breakfast buffet, was enjoyed too.
