It was the best hostel I have been when it comes to the room comfort, view, location and all. You wont regret staying in this hostel. Highly recommend this place.

The hostel is a bit far from the city, but on a hill so one gets good views of the city from the hostel.
The hostel was quite lively, and we loved the common play area with the foosball table and various board games.
The breakfast spread was amazing and the best we had in our entire Norway trip. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
It is great that they provide free parking card.
The washrooms were clean and did not feel like common washrooms at all.
The common kitchen was super busy but we were able to manage cooking our meals. This was the first time we stayed in a hostel, and I would surely recommend this to anyone who wants to have a great hostel experience.

We had a fantastic time at HI Bergen Hostel. We loved being so close to the hiking and able to get to city center easily.

Greta spit, Greta jostle with such a view, superb breakfast; one caveat: we had no hot water to take a shower in tue morning.

As far as hostels go, the room was not too bad. A bit like living in a dorm. The shower space was small and the curtain likes to blow inward to stick to your legs while showering, which is slightly disgusting. There were no hand towels for the bathroom (not that there would have been anywhere to hang them) and no shelves for toiletries. But, it was quiet and having a space to store refrigerated food in the kitchen was nice. Free parking, too.

Nice hostel. Has many useful facilities: for example guest kitchen, washing machines, luggage storage. It's not in the city center but it's okay because there's a bus stop nearby. Great place for people who want to travel on a budget!

Due to a staff error I was charged twice for the stay. The first night there was no hot water in the bathroom. I did not meet understanding because of the early morning departure and missing the paid breakfast.😞

For the price this place was absolutely amazing. The staff were so friendly, the community room was a pleasant surprise, rooms were tidy and breakfast had much variety. Wish I could give 6 stars but I have to give 5

I felt super safe here as a female solo traveler!
The hostel is a two minute walk from a bus stop which busses run really often and we’re always on time! The staff were also amazingly friendly, helpful and kind I will definitely come back again! :)

This was the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in and my roommates all said the same. The staff were all international volunteers and they worked extensively to keep the place exceptionally clean. The breakfast buffet resembled that of a luxury hotel more so than a cheap hostel. It was located at the base of Ulriken which meant it was literally a few steps away from numerous great hiking trails. This meant that it was a ways away from downtown but the bus came every twenty minutes so that was no problem. The view overlooking the city was spectacular and there were always people around to talk to. My only regret is not staying in Bergen longer!

I was nervous to stay in a hostel and the staff were some of the kindest people I met and same goes for the other backpackers, a safe, clean, and fun environment.

This is perfect for a large family, group of traveling backpackers or teens.

I stayed only for one night. It was easy to get there from the city center (bus 12) and hostel was great. I had to paid for bed sheets, but price was okay ($7usd). Room was cleaned, bathroom was good, and breakfast was 10/10. I will definitely recommend it.

Outstanding place! I was surprised with a such good quality hostel. It is extremely clean, comfortable and the most cool is that U have amazing viewpoints and mountain tracks right in front of.

I only spent 1 night and got in at 9:30pm. The staff was very polite courteous and informative. The breakfast next morning was sooooo good.

Nice place in Bergen. Lovely community vibe here. Staff are very helpful and has everything you might need. It’s a bit of a walk into central Bergen, but there is an easy bus you can get. Also very close to Ulriken cable car for a fantastic view.
