Close to city

Front desk was closed even though was there an hour before check in closed. Had to call and was given the key via a lock box. Was also told there was an extra $15 per night charge for parking, I said I wasn't paying this as it wasn't mentioned on the website or at any time during booking. Given the price I wasn't expecting much but got even less than that. Just a clean basic room was all I needed. Room was basic but that's it. Run down, dirty, smelly and noisy was what I got. Checked the bed on arrival to find the sheets weren't even clean, there was actual hair in the bed! Called to complain and was given another room, this room was slightly better, at least the sheets appeared clean. Shower was unusable, and probably would have felt like I needed a shower after using it anyway if I could use it. Brown water came out and the hose leaked everywhere. Brown water also came out of the sink tap. Loud music coming from another room until after 1am then some sort of a scuffle broke out in the hallway around 2am meant no sleep all night after 11 hours on the road was not ideal. The entire place smelt strongly of curry. The doors to the rooms looked to have been replaced recently and a part of the door jamb was missing on the hinge side leaving a gap that can be seen through. Had been booked for 2 nights but checked out the first morning and moved to a much better place. Yes this was cheap but expected more even for that money.

The place is super run down. The kitchen in my unit was still super dirty- food splashes up the walls and a thick grease layer on the stove top. Food splashes in the microwave. The fridge was full of water. Mouse droppings in the cupboards under the sink. I went and bought disposable cutlery so i didnt have to use anything. Parking is a pain in the butt and isnt worth $15 a day, especially when others arent being considerate of how they are parking as it is super tight. The positives were that the heater worked really well and its in a really good location.

Worst accommodation we’ve ever stayed at. Filthy, cigarette filters under the bed, mouldy and damp. Cold with no heating and not enough blankets. Unsafe for families, we had a knock on the door by someone asking for weed. Don’t book here, the reviews are correct. Expedia should disassociate themselves with this place.

Comfortable clean bed. Good shower. Tv not connected. Office not staffed throughout weekend or Monday morning. No breakfast available as promised. Generaloy very old and tired a d certainly not as advertised

No hand towel or bath mats. Lights that didn’t work. Had to check in via phone (at 3pm) and then struggle to find out badly signposted room. We then got our door knocked on rudely telling us to check out (while we were packing about to leave)

We found this property as a last minute booking. It was a great price for two rooms considering, as well as noting it was New Year’s eve and so close to town. The room was fine, very basic and suited to our needs as we were there to experience the city not the room. The beds were ok, likely quite old as they were sunken in the centre. Unfortunately the bathroom was not great. I used the cleaning sponge provided in the kitchen to scour the bath, walls and shower door before letting my family use it. Obviously I threw out the sponge after I’d finished! Would stay again if there were no other options, but I’d definitely be taking my Jif and cleaning cloths if so.

Parking was good. Close to town. It had all the necessities needed in the bathroom for how much it costs

Sink leaked into rest of washroom, room was colder than outdoor area with no heater, sheets looked unwashed. No bugs though.

Super convenient location. It had everything we needed, the kitchennette had pots, pans, cups & cutlery. The room was a bit dark but the beds were comfortable and staff were accommodating. The window detailing was amazing.

I book the budget room because it shows some nice and flash photos but when we arrive it was just like living in a cube, was too hot there and no wifi connection, so i ring the reception and notify the problem, good thing is they update my room. Can say the upgraded room was way better then the old one but then their Spa wasn’t working and the shi*t thing is they have no fan and air conditioner (AC) in the room specially, because it was too hot i have to leave the window and door open to let some air in the room. The windows got no security lock, so anyone can put their hand through to open the door and help themselves. It was like what the hell ?? They didn’t mention about parking charges while i was booking (which was only $15 per night) but then i have to give my card details to them so they can deduct the money which I think is very insecure. The check-in was at 2pm but no one was present at reception and it was even closed. I have no clue what to do 😏. Finally find their number and get some help. The only good thing about this place it is very close to the city and everything is just around the corner.

To much money for NOT Clean Room...Furniture is damaged , broken. Its like You find all that staff on the street.

This property is horrific. One room the floor was on a lean and felt like it was going to fall down, the other room was elegant about 10 years ago when I last stayed, but furniture all over the place, TV didn't work, wifi didn't work, power points half worked, windows smashed. Btbh under current management it should be demolished

A visit from the Hotel Inspector would probably see this shut! I did not use the shower due to mould, someone’s hair residues. Bed had no underblanket or anything beneath sheet & mattress was stained, pretty sure sheets & pillowcases hadn’t bn changed, the room needed a thorough vacuum & over all clean. TV did not work wld not connect to network. I would not recommend this as a place to stay despite its great proximity. If it was 100$ cheaper - is closer to what they shld be charging. Pretty shameful overall.

The room was filthy! Everything was dirty. I can send you photos! They hadn’t even cleaned up the trash; there was paper and candy wrappers on the shelf. We were there about 15 minutes and then left in disgust! No one works in the evening so we couldn’t complain to anyone on site. I have complained to Expedia and Harswell Lodge through message/email. You haven’t heard the last of this from me. I am expecting a full refund. I think that the owner is posting different photos than what he is renting. I suggest you look at other complaints. You should be ashamed to be letting the owner use your site. I will be sure to tell others about this and I won’t be using Expedia again. That place was disgusting and disgraceful! I look forward to your reply.

Damp, disgusting. Laundry busted. Left immediately and checked into another hotel.

The place is incredibly filthy, dirty,poorly kept and maintained: broken furniture and walls; we actually had to fix the headboard to stop it from falling on us. There are massive gaps in the windows so that we could hear all the street noise and felt as we were outside; dirty dishes, disgusting carpert, no cutlery available in the room. No staff available even at reception so you won’t be able to raise any concerns. We booked for two nights but actually left after the first night for a different accommodation as we felt completely unsafe and sick from that place.

Would give zero stars if I could. Weird check in experience. Room was filthy, no toilet paper or soap, door to the balcony didn’t close which was noisy and unsafe. I ended up leaving after a couple of hours as there was no way I was staying the night. Avoid at all costs.
