Fast and personal service. Whatever i needed they provided very relaxing facility great food and drinks awesome location

We were able to book a room same day. The rooms were clean and service was great! The pool and bar were also very nice.

We stayed at this property after our flight was cancelled. Property is beautiful, rooms were nice. Staff was exceptional. Great price!

Worst experience ever!!!!! No elevator, No air conditioner, I couldn’t sleep at all. At 2:10 am I had to go down to the lobby because it was extremely hot, the room had no electricity at the time of check in. We booked 7 rooms and we all had the same issue, I would never recommend this place to anyone. People were screaming in the hallways demanding something to be done to fix these issues. We paid for 7 king bedrooms, we got double beds instead. Very noisy, right next to the highway which also made it a lot harder to sleep. I want my money back!!!

The property was extremely dirty and flooded , our room hallway was flooded without the proper warning sign to warn people causing me and my partner to fall on the floor and possibly getting injured . The rooms were filthy and broken doors in the bathroom . I will never stay here again

Good place

I booked a one night day, and my experience was not that great, because when I walked into the property, the two gentlemen in the Lobby area gave me a second floor room I had two big luggage bags, and they did not even offer to help me with the bags up and I was with a baby.

Those rooms has a smell bad .nd also no blanket in the room .

I enjoyed the convenience of having food for sale and also every morning there was free breakfeast which I did not anticipate but was a nice surprise.The roads nearby were decent.Additionally, the room I was staying in had a stove, fridge, and sink but no silverware or pots and pans. The pool was very clean and nice. The piña coladas were amazing.I only went for a business trip, but ended up enjoying my stay more than expected.

I made a reservation,the guy did not want me to bring any guess,like i was sleeping alone. He make me pay 30 us dollars,so i can come in with somebody while i already had a reservation. He tild me that the room was for 1 person,i wasn't allow to briong anyone else. I had to pay with card because one of my friend told me that most of the workers in DR(not the owners) wanna pimp the strangers like u don't know nothing. I was so mad,I did not have no choice than pay the 30 us dollars. I forget his name,but he was in the front on april 30th,he worked in the afternoon. It's not my first experience with whala,but this guy make it the last one

Very large room with great air conditioning. Food at the restaurant was good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great pool area.

Friendly customer service. But they did not give me the receipt at the time of booking, they do not give a receipt for what one pays to reserve. Someone opened my suitcase, and I found my makeup bag open. I went to the front desk and reported. When I called they didn't answer the call.

I carried out my own special bottle of wine and they didn't allow me to drink it in the property that was offencive, the only good thing was the parking

This hotel was comfortable and easily accessible to all necessities. Workers were great and could understand us. Had a good 3 days.

We could not showers

My friend and I had a great stay at Whala! Staff was very polite and helpful, breakfast was great and our room was so clean. Pool is also great, and they have a bar and a restaurant. Although it’s not close to the beach, they offer a shuttle to Bávaro Beach that was very convenient for us. We’d come back :)

The hotel overall condition so bad. Looks like a cheap motel. Very dissapointed. We left without any refund.

Property cleaniness was excellent and staff was always willing to assist. What I disliked, was the rooms on the first floor and some on the second floor smelt like mold and the paint on the walls were swelling. Other than that, my wife and I were offered another room and our stay turned out amazing. Would I stay at this hotel again? Absolutely yes....and I will recommend this hotel to anyone.

Beautiful place and the staff are amazing

This hotel is ideal for short stay, it is small and comfortable, offer great value for money. The staff are friendly and engaging. Thr hotel is clean and in good condition. Pool is good. Rooms are good standard with firm beds. Room safe did not work, had to carry valuables for 2 days, air con in kitchen, sitting area was ineffective, air con in bedroom was good Breakfast was ok, some cereal, fruit, and hot food Overall it was great hotel for our needs, short stay before moving to all inclusive hotel nearby I would book again as it does offer great value for money

Not as expected

I don’t like this property!! It’s very poor!!

We chose this place based on the rating and price. No regrets. Nothing fancy but it did the job before and after our cruise from La Romana. It was a 30 minute walk to Bavaro beach and we always felt safe on that walk. There are a few restaurants within a 2 minute walk. We really liked Little Italy Bavaro. The pizzas were amazing. Good value too. We wanted to try Byblos (outdoor seating) but it was raining so we ended up having Junior's Home Pizza instead. Little Italy was closed that Monday. There is no elevator in this complex. Keep that in mind. The staff will assist you but we managed on our own. While you can bring your own drinks in, you cannot drink them in the pool area as there is a bar there. That makes sense. The staff brought us a bucket for our wine plus two wine glasses. Very classy! There is no secure please to store your luggage if you arrive before check in time. It is kept in a corner near the ATM , in a public area. Perhaps dedicate a closet or something for this purpose. Staff were great but only front desk staff spoke English. Google translate was our friend. First room didn't have a key for the safe so they switched our room for us. We ended up with a pool view instead of a wall with barbed wire. If we ever cruise from La Romana again, we'd consider staying at Whala Urban again.

The property was okay but the room was dirty and somethings were broken. The floors were sticky, the balcony was dirty, the toilet seat was broken or loose, some of the power plugs did not work only the one on the right hand side of the bed. It’s cool that the electricity turns off when you leave the room because it’s operated by your key card which has a slot by the door so when you remove it and close the door everything powers off. The down side is that they only give you one key card so if you had more then one guest, if they took the keycard you were basically in the dark until they returned or they couldn’t leave with the keycard. That’s inconvenient for the guests. The area around the hotel is being developed so besides a pizza place ,two mini markets, and two restaurants there was nothing much around. You need an Uber or a car to get to the center since the hotel is on near the freeway so you can’t just walk to other places but the ones I listed. We only stayed for a day because we had to catch a flight at Punta Cana International Airport so I didn’t complain but I would not stay there long term until I saw more progress. Most staff were friendly, the young man at the kiosk when we arrived questioned my reservation as if I never reserved it or as if I had it mistaken even after showing him my confirmation.

They don’t change your towels everyday.
