The hotel was very accommodating to our needs during our stay. This was our first visit to Westerly and the Sandcastle Inn. The room, balcony, patio furniture were all extremely clean. The property was very well maintained and you can tell that this family run business takes much pride in their property. The location right on the beach and private beach access was ideal for us, as we do not love being crowded or amongst loud crowds while relaxing. We were thoroughly pleased with our stay and will definitely be back.

On the beach!

We had some trouble with the "longterm stay" homeless man who stays in Room 1 (below us), who is apparently "employed" at the hotel. The man pounded on our door at 6:30pm for "being too noisy" (we have a 4 year old) and despite our friendly assertion that it wouldn't happen again, he was unreasonably aggressive and threatened us that he "didn't want to have to come back up here again" as he walked away. The hotel is honestly in ruins. No shampoo provided, and homeless (drunk?) people as staff who will threaten you for using your room as intended, during daylight hours. Missing outlet covers, rotten water-damaged cabinets, nonfunctioning bath tub. Take your money elsewhere, or you'll regret it (we certainly did).

loved that it was right on the beach - totally off season - wanted a third nite at discounted rate- no go , and alsobother people staying shared there costs - ours was considerably higher - we would had become returning guest - but felt unfair considering the off sesson and being of senior age

I really enjoyed the complimentary coffee & tea. Thank you for the dairy free creamer options! The decor & beach view rooms is amazing. The private beach access, complimentary chairs, welcoming, the fridge in the room is a plus, everything was perfect. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will be back very soon.

Close to beach

This is the perfect location and close to fun things to explore. Can't wait to come back and bring more friends so we can enjoy the moments together.

Please add back the little soaps, shampoo etc. And a Continental breakfast. Otherwise a delightful stay!

Decent place to sty if you want to be right on the water. It was a clean basic room right on the water, with their own private beach.

Very nice team of staff. Very happy with location of hotel, close to multiple breakfast and coffee options and near enough to restaurants and other beaches. Chose this hotel for location and good reviews- traded off for no breakfast included though… but I’m glad i did! VERY clean which is really important, and can’t beat the view and sleeping listening to the ocean. Balcony has assigned tables & chairs for each room/guests. Every night each group has their own things going bc of course you want to be looking at the ocean but was sort of neat to be on the balcony separately but kinda together too. Room is a little tight but good closet space for suitcases, and it’s manageable when you aren’t spending much time in the room besides sleeping. Mini fridge freezer actually freezes things! Don’t know that I’ve ever encountered that in other hotels (lol.) bed wasn’t the most comfortable thing in the world, but again, clean! bathroom is good size with sink outside of, but shower is a bit small. Worked out for me / average size, a little heavy. Much larger than me and you might have difficulty. What it lacks in size it makes up for in water pressure! Good shower 👍we will definitely be back

A nice place to stay for a couple of days or a long weekend. The room was very spartan and not very warm or inviting, but that could just be me.

Charming and classic Inn with excellent beach access.

I absolutely loved it here. Very simple. No frills. Very clean and welcoming. There is no coffee pot in your room. No worries. You will find it in front by the office. No hair dryer or shampoo/conditioner so plan ahead. Check in was very easy. She was so friendly and helpful. We so appreciated her suggestions on things to see and do.I have already recommended this place to all my friends. Love!

Well-kept motel, beautifully situated at the edge of the ocean. No daily housekeeping, unless I suppose of you request it. No complaints at all, I'd go back.

Very cute and cozy place

The Sandcastle Beachfront Inn is not fancy but it is clean, safe, has great, friendly staff, and is ON the beach. If you want to be lulled to sleep each night by the beautiful sound of Block Island Sound just yards from your doorstep, I recommend staying at this wonderful place. The room I was in was a waterfront room, so that helps of course, but this hotel is right on the beach and small enough that even if you are not facing the water, you will hear it, feel it, smell it, love it! Yes, the room itself is basic. The bed is fine, linens are clean and soft (no comforter - just a thin blanket and sheets, so if you need a plush cover, bring your own), small standup shower only, closet, some drawers, TV with cable, AC/Heating unit you control, small refrigerator, and a shared deck space that is quite large. The deck furniture is very basic and plastic, but you do get a good sized table and several chairs just for your room and although there are no walls or barriers between each room's outdoor area, when I was there, everyone respected each other's space. There is no hair dryer, iron/ironing board, laundry service, dining, phone, toiletries (with the exception of very small bars of soap), or anything else beyond what was already mentioned above, but that is just not what this place is about. It's a kick back, enjoy the beach, walk around barefoot, basic hotel right on the water. The staff is wonderful and the atmosphere and energy of this place reflect that.

Actually was much better than expected, the rooms were super fresh and clean. The only thing I’d suggest would be four pillows not three on a queen bed. Staff was extremely helpful. Outside our room door was also clean and appealing. This place is on the sand nothing beats the night sound of waves

We stayed here for 1 night at over $300 a night, there was 1 blanket and 3 pillows provided, no shampoo/conditioner/body wash. The office closed at 9 pm and we were calling for hours because we had key issues. They never picked up the phone and did not call back the next morning. Its located right on the beach which is the only decent thing about this place.

Right on the beach. Parking is very tight. The room was very small and outdated. No shampoo or blow-dryer.
