I wasn’t clear if the woman Nancy, who greeted us was the owner of the property. Immediately she made us feel welcome with her warm smile and friendly attitude. We reserved the cottage, which was absolutely phenomenal. clean private With lots of room and fully furnished and stocked up with plates and silverware and a coffee pot with coffee. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. We cannot wait to go Go back again, but this time we will spend several days instead of one night. We had no idea how great it would be. Cannot say enough about the delicious, homemade pancakes and sausage and fresh brewed coffee. So accommodating and friendly. This is a 5 star property.

Lots of charm, good value and great breakfast. Coupled with an ideal location barely 5 minutes walk from the beach and the downtown shopping center of Cape May and you have a great choice for accommodation. Just be aware this is a 100 yr old B&B with no full time staff, some quirks and minimal amenities compared to a full service hotel. Breakfast was fantastic and the rooms spacious and clean. My issue was thus; the doorknob on my room fell off every time I used it, which was very inconvenient, unsafe and frankly annoying. They sent someone to fix it, after which it promptly fell off again. Unfortunately this fell off with the door locked at midnight, meaning I had to jam a rolling chair castor into the door to open it otherwise sleep on the couch in the lobby. No one answered my call during this issue and the next day no one called me back to offer an apology until I called to inform them, largely so they would fix it for the next guest. I suppose in my book, it warranted a credit, or even a free night offer in the future, rather than "this is an old property and we apologize". Take it for what you will.

This was a a get away weekend and it was amazing, quiet, clean but conveniently located to everything. We would definitely stay again

The Dormer House is a beautiful bed and breakfast in the heart of Cape May. My husband and I have been coming here for years. Breakfast on the spacious Victorian porch was delicious. The homemade cookies in the afternoon were yummy. The rooms are charming. The reason for the good this time and not excellent were that the silverware was not the cleanest, the chairs and tables on the porch were wobbly, and the bedding and sheets were rough. Also, in previous visits we were greeted and welcomed by the owner/manager but not this time which makes you feel at home. However, we will most likely be back again. It is a gorgeous Victorian bed and breakfast centrally located with lots of charm.

Why stay anywhere else? Delighted with everything! Food fabulous too.

Nancy was Ultra Professional & a super help with her suggestions. Thanks to her we found a great bar with live music at their sister hotel just around the corner. Will definitely return!!

Loved sitting on the porch having breakfast, watching all the people going by! And the cookies! We've stayed here a few times now, not too much not to like:)

My husband and I stayed at the Dormer House for our first anniversary and we enjoyed every moment of our stay. I have severe dietary restrictions and Nancy and Nancy accommodated and offered assistance to be sure I was taken care of. Our room was clean, homey, and exactly as described. The location is the perfect distance from shopping, beach, and restaurants. We cannot wait to be back!

Nancy greeted us and it was an amazing breakfast. Be ready to take your things up many stairs otherwise a great find.

The property is an old Victorian house but well maintained and managed. The dining area and reception room feels homey. Initially, we were puzzled with the entrance of our room. It was outside of the main building. We have to go around the property twice before we saw the stairs to our room. Overall, we are happy with our stay.

Beach chairs and towels. Easy walk to everything. Breakfast was excellent. Host was so nice.

Incredibly cute BNB. Easy to get into. Breakfast was wonderful, loved that it was served on the front porch. Rooms clean/comfortable. Air conditioning present!!! Charming. Fridge in room. Ice in ice closet in 1st floor. Parking next to place. Walk-able to beach and down town. would stay again.

The location was great and free parking.delicious breakfast and friendly service.my only complaint is the accessibility to the room.the stairs were very narrow and steep.we knew that there wasn’t an elevator but my partner has a bad knee and we could barely make it up to our room.would definitely not book the Diana room again.they should let people know of this situation .

My wife and I enjoyed our relaxing weekend at the Dormer House. The bed and breakfast was everything we hoped for and more. Woke up every morning to a delicious breakfast served by hospitable hosts. Could not beat the location, short walk to the beach, shopping, restaurants, historic district, etc. Room was clean and cozy.

Easy to relax and great staff. Still has A/C window units that do not bother me and my husband but it may some guest.

The Dormer House is amazing! It’s the best of both worlds: a beautiful old home with 21st-century comforts. The staff are accommodating and kind. We will be be back for a second stay!

I was informed by the innkeeper that I paid more by going through expedia than if I called directly to the B&B. And here I thought Expedia provided cost savings on lodging. I learned my lesson. The room we were had an issue with the lock. Nancy was kind enough to move us to another unit for the remainder of our stay. The breakfasts were delicious.
